Sharon Lauffenberger, 52, of Aurora, IL, died suddenly Thursday evening, January 18, 2001 in Mercy Medical Center. Ms. Lauffenberger was born August 9, 1948 in East Peoria, IL. She attended St. Olaf Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montgomery.
Survivors include her father, Robert Smith Sr. of Aurora; a sister, Hazel (Veron Sr.) Amy of Aurora; a brother, Robert (Cindy) Smith Jr. of Aurora; a nephew, Vernon (Alisia) Amy Jr. of Aurora; and a niece, Audrey Amy of Aurora.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Lorene Richmond Smith.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2001 from 2-6 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway (Rt. 25), Montgomery. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 22, 2001 at 11 AM where visitation will begin at 10 AM until time of services. Rev. Robert Kasperson will officiate. Private burial will take place at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery. If desired, memorials may be made to St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 1233 Douglas Rd., Montgomery.
Joseph L. Becker
Joseph L. Becker, 75, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital. He was born May 7, 1925 in Aurora.
Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps during World War II. Joseph played semi-professional football for the Aurora Clippers. He was a 27 year veteran of the Aurora Fire Department, and also worked part-time for Sears for over 20 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #84 and the Phoenix Club.

Mrs. Julianne Bolster
Mrs. Julianne Bolster, 80, of St. Charles passed away Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Delnor Community Hospital. She was born June 10, 1920 in Naperville, IL, the daughter of the late Harlan and Grace (Kendall) Marshall.
Mrs. Bolster was born and raised in Naperville, a descendant of the original founders of Naperville. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. In recent years along with her husband Lyle they resided in St. Charles and Sarasota, FL. She was also a former member of 4th Street United Methodist Church in Aurora.
Survivors include her husband, Lyle of St. Charles; daughters, Terry Ann Scheidecker of St. Charles, Sara (Rick) Smith of Noblesville, IN and Rebecca Bolster of Geneva; four grandchildren Brant (Erica) Scheidecker of Elgin, Craig Scheidecker of Geneva, Peter and Kaitlyn Smith, both of Noblesville, IN; sister, Betty (Joe) Nocco of Bradenton, FL. And several nieces and nephews.
Julianne was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael; and three babies in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. from The Healy Sugar Grove Chapel with Rev. Al Patton officiating. Internment will take place at Sugar Grove Cemetery. Mary Jane Carlson
Mary Jane Carlson, 70, of Lyles, TN. Passed away at her home on January 18, 2001.
Mary was born on June 24, 1930 in Hammond, IN to the late Abraham and Ollie Sago.
She is survived by her loving sisters and brother Lillan Ditch of Greenville, TN. June Taylor and Susan A. Sago, both of Plano, IL and Daniel A. Sago of Aurora, IL. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Matthew and one sister Opal Schiefer.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St., Sandwich, IL with Reverend Scott Secrest officiating. Interment will take place at the Little Rock Twp. Cemetery, Plano, IL.
Frank F. Damon
Frank F. Damon, age 83, Sugar Grove, IL, passed away peacefully early Saturday evening, January 20, 2001 at Countryside Care Center, Aurora, IL. He was born May 15, 1917 in Oswego the son of Charles and Mabel (Falk) Damon. Frank grew up on Norris Rd. where the family moved when he was three. He attended Sugar Grove Schools until his senior year, when he transferred to Batavia High School where he graduated with the class of 1935. As a young man, he followed his father's footstep into farming on Norris Road. Through the years, the farm became a major gathering place for family and for the local farmers club. Stories abound of the four to five hundred people of all ages who gathered for bonfires and picnics. Frank went to work at the Walker Process Company, Aurora in 1960 and in 1971, they sold the family farm on Norris Road and moved to Dugan Woods. Following Frank's retirement in 1979, they moved to Constitution House, Aurora in 1995 where they have since made their home. In March of 1942, Frank was united in marriage to Lillian Lorenz. In October of that same year, he was drafted into the Army and served until April of 1945. Returning home, he began a life long community career that found him sharing and serving with friends and neighbors in a number of ways. As a life long member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Frank held many offices including Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Through the church, he became involved in scouting when his son, Richard was a boy and remained as Assistant Scout Master until 1972. Having become a member of the Big Rock American Legion Post shortly after the war, Frank later joined the Sugar Grove Post and served also as an officer with the Kane County Council, 11th District. In his retirement years, Frank became a charter member of the Sugar Grove Historical Society. He was also active in the Senior Citizens group.
In addition to his beloved wife of 59 years, he is survived by three children; eight grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. Carol (William) Crane of Big Rock, IL and their daughter, Elizabeth of Waukegan; Sandra (Larry) Flickinger of Sugar Grove, IL and their sons, Ralph of Shabbona, IL and Rodney of Bloomington, IL; Richard (Debbie) Damon of Batavia, IL and their family, Todd (Patti) Damon of Big Rock, great granddaughter, Emma, Marc of Big Rock, Scott Damon of Somonauk, Andrew Tannhauser of Batavia, Nicholas Damon of Batavia; two nieces, Catherine (Newell) Sutton of Center Point, IA and Alice Geisler (Paul) of Manchester, IA; and a community of friends.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Walter Damon.
Visitation hours will be at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday morning at church from 9a.m. until time of service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, 176 Main St. The Rev. Betty Joy Heimer
Betty Joy Heimer, 74, of Montgomery, IL, joined her Lord on January 19, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 14, 1926 in Lakeville, IN. She was united in marriage to her late husband, Donald Wayne Heimer, on December 22, 1955 at Lakeville. Mrs. Heimer was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her caring and loving ways helped her as a housemother at Baltimore Hall at Moosehart, IL where she worked for many years until her retirement. Betty was a member of Christain Church of Oswegoland and Loyal Order of Moose #400, in Aurora.
She is survived by her seven sons, Darrell (Ann) Heimer of Pekin, IL, Larry (Mariko) Heimer of Port St. Lucie, FL, Michael (Nicky) Heimer of Montgomery, David (Dee Ann) Heimer of Seneca, IL, Jerry (Vicky) Heimer of Conifer, CO, Jeff (Emily) Heimer of Azle, TZ and Timothy (Denise) Heimer of Channahon; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Helen Tinkel of Bremem, IN; two brothers, Everett (Vivian) Huff of Bremen, IN and Robert Huff of Florida.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Doanld Wayne Heimer in August of 1979; her parents, Garnett and Vern Huff; one son, James Heimer; one sister, Hazel Paolucci and one brother, Harold Huff.
A memorial service for Mrs.. Heimer will be held on Monday, January 22, 2001 at the Dieterle Memorial Home at 7:00 p.m. Pastors Bob Reid and Wade Heimer will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 7:00 p.m. Entombment will take place in Bremen, IN.

Dolores L. Henry
Funeral services for Dolores Laura Henry, 74 of Bozeman, Montana will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Evangelical Free Church of Bozeman, by Pastor Chris Blackmore. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Henry died Thursday, January 18, 2001 in Bozeman, MT after a lengthy, but incredibly courageous battle with emphysema. She was born January 23, 1926 in Aurora, Illinois to Lester and Helen (Dobrenski) Boyles.
She attended East Aurora High School until 1944. On January 26, 1946, she married William F. "Bill" Henry in Aurora at Good Council Church. They lived many years together in Aurora and attended Good Council and Sacred Heart churches.
In 1968, she was employed with the City of Aurora at city hall, then transferred to the Police Department in record keeping and finished back at City Hall with Civil Service. She remained with the city of Aurora until February 1, 1982 and moved to Bozeman, Montana in June 1983.
Mrs. Henry was active in many activities within the church, attending various retreats, outings, and personal Christian development seminars and bible studies. Upon retiring to Montana, she enjoyed traveling and camping throughout Montana with her husband and friends coming to visit. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and her family is certain of her next life in Heaven.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Henry, of Bozeman, and her four boys, William J. Henry of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robert L. Henry of Tacoma, Washington, John M. Henry of Bozeman, Montana and James C. Henry of Casper, Wyoming; her grandchildren, Joseph Henry of Las Vegas; Aaron Stutzman of N. Aurora; Steven Henry of Aurora; and Coleman, Shane, and Meaghan Henry all of Casper.

Francis R. Kluckhohn
Francis R. Kluckhohn, 84 years of Oswego, IL died Friday, January 19, 2001 at Hillside Healthcare Centre in Yorkville, IL.
He was born January 2, 1917 in Reddick, IL, the son of the late Edward H. and Gertrude (nee Unz) Kluckhohn. During World War II, he served with the OSS and the 164th Engr Combat Bn throughout the European Theatre prior to his honorable discharge. His entire life, he was involved in the construction business from the operation of heavy equipment to the design and manufacturing of construction equipment. He never really retired from his love of construction but merely slowed down his active participation. He was a member of the Aurora Moose Lodge #400.
He is survived by his daughter, Lois (Gary) Blomstrom of Washington, IL; two sons, Robert (Janene) Kluckhohn of Oswego, IL and David (Jeannine) Kluckhohn of Oswego, IL; five grandchildren, Dawn (Tony) Pulgine of Aurora, IL, Jamie Blomstrom of Denver, CO, Matthew Blomstrom of Washington, IL, Hillary Kluckhohn, Brian Kluckhohn, both of Oswego, IL; three great-grandchildren, Monika, Nicholas and Emma Pulgine; a sister, Leila Kaufman of Naperville, IL; two brothers, Marion (Delores) Kluckhohn of Neilsville, WI and Harlan Kluckhohn of Stockton, IL; and by several nieces and nephews.

Edward Fishburn Fowler
Edward Fishburn Fowler, was born March 10, 1910, in Aurora, IL. He passed away Saturday, January 20, 2001 in Aurora, IL, where he lived all of his life, with the exception of 3 years while living at Kelly Lake, Wisconsin in the old log cabin where he returned each summer. He graduated from East Aurora High School in 1928; was a captain of the basketball team and was active on the track team; setting records in the sprints. He attended the University of Illinois and was a member of Kappa Delta Rho, Eta Chapter.
He was employed by the Western United Gas and Electric Co., and retired from Northern Illinois Gas Co. in 1975 after 39 years in utility work. Mr. Fowler was a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. Was a leader of the Y.M.C.A. Community Comrade Group (The Panthers) at the Y.M.C.A. and Brady School. He was President of the Fowler Grove Cemetery Association. He loved and enjoyed his family above all else; but was also an avid fisherman, bridge player and football fan.
Survivors include his three daughters, Caryl Sue (Delmonte) Darby of Aurora, Ruth Ann (Donald) Bloom of Loves Park, IL and Pamela (William) McGill of Elburn; one brother, William F. Fowler of Kelly Lake, WI; one step-daughter, Dianna Hoag of Aurora; one step-son, Dean C. (Jay) Pohl of California as well as 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth (Meister) Fowler in 1968; by his second wife, Margaret C. Fowler in 1997; also his father, William F. Fowler and mother, Carolyn (Fishburn) Fowler and one sister, Suzanne Fitzgibbons.
There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery with the Rev. Dan Sullivan officiating.

Michael "Griff" Griffith, age 45, of Sandwich, IL passed away Monday, January 22, 2001 at Rush Copley Memorial Hospital in Aurora, IL.
He graduated from Hinckley High School Class of 1974. He married Vanessa Oleson, July 9, 1977 in Sandwich, IL. He was an active Reservist in the United States Marine Corps. He was currently employed with Premiere Exteriors in Aurora. He enjoyed boating, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and a good party with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Vanessa, who called him "Doll"; his son, Korrie at home; his mother, Donna (Herman) Baumez of Big Rock; his father, Ben (Barb) Griffith of Downey, California; four brothers, Larry (Cathy) Griffith of Wheaton, IL, Rock Griffith of California, Scott Griffith of California, Skip (Terry) Baumez of Hinckley; two sisters, Jean (Gordon) Eberhardt of Sandwich and Lorraine (John) Hoffman of California; his grandmother, Blanche Griffith; his mother and father-in-law, Bill and Veda McKee of Sandwich and Vernon Oleson of Sandwich, and several nieces and nephews.

Harold J. "Hal" Lord
Harold J. "Hal" Lord, 74, of Aurora, passed away Monday, January 22, 2001, at Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville.
He was born May 22, 1926 in Aurora. Mr. Lord was a member of the 3rd Ward Club, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #400 in Aurora, and the Legion of the Moose, Mecca #9. Mr. Lord was employed at Rainbow Bread as a salesman for over 35 years until his retirement in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Hildegarde C. Lord, of Batavia; a son, David Lord; a step-daughter, Vicki Howard, of Batavia and a step-son; Robin (Wanda) Sharp of Oswego, IL; eight grandchildren and a great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marion Lord, in 1985 and his parents, Frank and Corrine Lord.
Mr. Lord's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Staff of Firwood Healthcare Center, in Batavia, for their warm and loving care that was shown to Mr. Lord during his stay there.

Dorothy Meighan, of Aurora, IL, passed away, Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Countryside Care Centre, surrounded by her children. Dorothy was born in Springfield, IL on July 1, 1917, the daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Daniels) Kleeburger.
Dorothy attended school in Springfield and enjoyed tennis, skating, and never missed the motorcycle races at the State Fair.
She met Louis Meighan while working at the Meighan Restaurant in Springfield. They were married June 1, 1940 at the Cathedral Catholic Church in Springfield. She moved to Aurora in 1973.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Don) Mathis, Linda Heath and one son, Fred (Patricia) Meighan, all of Aurora; six grandchildren, Danny (Dawn) Mathis of Yorkville, Christine (Todd) Winters, James Ealey, John Ealey, Fred Louis Meighan, all of Aurora, and Dawn Oliver of Teague, TX. She has 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Eugene Meighan; three grandchildren, Sarah Ann Meighan, Paul Louis Ealey and Donald Louis Mathis.
Dorothy will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 with her grandchildren at Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery, IL.
A private memorial service will be held at The Healy Chapel, Aurora with Fr. Jerome Leake officiating.
