Icca Vella Frenk
Icca Vella Frenk, age 95, of Earlville formerly of Lombard, IL passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at Heritage Manor in Mendota.
She was born August 22, 1905 in Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of John Henry and Sophia (Bommersheim) Hammond. She was united in marriage to Walter Frenk on April 13, 1925. Icca enjoyed crochetting, and making all of her grandchildren baby quilts. The love of her life was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Roy) Bergstrom of Oswego, IL; her daughter-in-law, Betty Frank of Liberal, MO; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and twenty great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her son, Walter C. Frank; one brother, James Hammond; three sisters, Gladys King, Verna Mae Barthlemy and Virginia Wasson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2001 at the Hanley-Turner Funeral Home, 407 S. Ottawa St., Earlville, IL (815)246-6491, with the Rev. Frances Olson of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mendota officiating. Burial will follow at Precinct Cemetery in rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., on Saturday until the time of services in the funeral home.
Gladys M. Jeske
Gladys M. Jeske, 93, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at Provena-Pine Crest Center in St. Charles. She was born May 19, 1907 in Aurora the daughter of the late Robert & Emma (Neuman) Kieso.
Mr. Jeske was employed at All-Steel Equipment for several years and at S.S. Sencenbaugh's in Aurora for 15 years until her retirement in 1967. She was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, graduate of St. Paul's Lutheran School and the Aurora Business College. At St. Paul's she had many areas of responsibility serving as an officer on many boards. She was also a member of the Lydia Circle & a charter member of the Young at Heart Society, both at St. Paul's.
Mrs. Jeske is survived by her son, Eugene A. (Barbara) Jeske of Batavia; three sister-in-law, Agnes Kieso of Champaign, IL, Mildred Kieso of Rock Island and Villa Jeske of Aurora; also several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Albert E. Jeske in 1974 and three brothers, Walter, Lester and Ervin Kieso.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2001, at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 So. Broadway (Route 25), Montgomery at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Jock Ficken will officiate with interment in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Montgomery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service.

Barbara Jean Kirkus
Barbara Jean Kirkus, age 66 of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at the University of IL Hospital in Chicago.
Mrs. Kirkus was born August 13, 1934 in Aurora, IL she was the daughter of the late Martin C. and Edna (Ridge) Kramer.
She was employed as a secretary for the Supreme Moose Lodge, at Moosehart, Illinois, for 13 years until her retirement in 1998.
She graduated from East Aurora High School, and was a member of the Moose Lodge #682 of Batavia.
Mrs. Kirkus is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Kirkus) Dean of Aurora, two sons, Dave Kirkus of Aurora, and Jay Kirkus of Berkeley, CA. Her grandchildren include Brad Kirkus of Dublin, CA, Stephanie Dean, Cory Cantrell, Rebecca Dean all of Aurora; one great granddaughter, Briana Kirkus; one aunt, Gladys Wagner of North Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Kirkus in 1997 and two brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kirkus will be held on Friday, May 4, 2001, at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer (corner of Root and Galena) at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Pat Geiseman will officiate with interment in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. She will lie in state at the church Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Christina Kay Shorter
Christina Kay Shorter, age 48, of Aurora, Illinois, died after a four month battle with cancer on Monday, April 30, 2001 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. She was born on May 24, 1952 in Skokie, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Lois (Briggs) Shorter.
Christina was united in marriage to Mr. Larry Greenberg on January 1, 2001 at their home in Aurora, Illinois.
She was very involved with the Girl Scouts of America in Chicago, as both a trainer and leader and received a special award for having organized the first troop in the South Loop of Chicago.
Chris was a graduate of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. She was employed for 24 years by the Social Security Administration and was based in Chicago, as an investigator.
Chris is survived by her husband, Larry Greenberg of Aurora; her mother, Lois Schnizlein of Naperville; her step-daughter, Kimberly Greenberg of Chicago; her step-mother, Rebecca Shorter of Elgin; her sisters, Linda (Richard) Fletcher of Green Bay, Wisconsin and Dianne Shorter of Park Forest; her six step-brothers; her two step-sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many friends who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Shorter in 1988, and her step- father, J. Glenn Schnizlein in 1986.
At Chris' request, her body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2001 at the Dupage Unitarian Church, 4 S. 535 Old Naperville Rd., Naperville IL 60563. John F. Blanchard
John F. Blanchard, 82, of Warrenville passed away Friday, May 4, 2001 at his residence.
He was born January 18, 1919 in Oak Park, IL.
He was a retired carpenter and owner of Blanchard Construction Co., Warrenville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as a pilot/mechanic in the Philippines. He was an avid gardener and fisherman and a Life member of the NRA. Mr. Blanchard was an Honorary member of the Warrenville VFW Post 8081.
Survivors include his wife, June A. Blanchard of Warrenville; his children, Penny (Ron) Sanchez of Nevada City, California, John Jr. Blanchard of Mentern, Colo., Linda (Emory) Schmidt of Bagley, Minn, Janice (Edward) Kraft of Almond, WI and Barbara (Robert) Doporcyk of Sleepy Hollow, IL; a brother, Bernard Blanchard of Berwyn, IL; 12 grandchildren, Chris, Matt, Fawn, Brenda, Kimberly, Melissa, Kurt, Patricia, Ashley, Carley, Lindsey and Allie; four great grandchildren; and a Godchild.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest; and a sister, Dorothy.

Kenneth Wayne Cossey, Jr.
Mr. Kenneth "Ken" Wayne Cossey, Jr., age 57, of Aurora, formerly of Brookport, IL passed away at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL.
He was employed by the Dow Chemical Corp. of Aurora, IL.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Biship Cossey of Aurora, IL; his mother, Lola Giltner of Brookport, IL; a son, Bradley Cossey Johnson of Metropolis, IL; two step-daughters, Rhonda Austin of California, and Kimberly Karczewski of Chicago, IL; one step-son Mike Biship of Aurora, IL; five step-grandchildren; two step-brothers, Greg Giltner of Hopkinsville, KY, and Jerry Giltner of Metropolis, IL; one uncle, Larry Cossey of Golconda, IL, and two aunts, Genevieve Albertson of Vienne, MO, and Shirley Goba of Golconda, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth W. Cossey, Sr. and his step-father, Russell Giltner.

Maryann C. Crisci, 51, of Aurora, passed away Friday, May 4, 2001 at her home.
She was born June 2, 1949 in Savanna, IL the daughter of the late Francis and Ethel (Taylor) Brooks. Mrs. Crisci was employed by the Dreyer Clinic in Aurora and was a member of Holy Angels Church. Her family owns and operates Midwest Mobile in Sugar Grove, IL.
Survivors included her husband of 31 years, Charles F. Crisci of Aurora; three sons, Victor A. Crisci and Eric C. (Jana) Crisci both of Aurora, and Jeffrey C. Crisci of N. Aurora; also three nieces and one nephews.
She is preceded in death by one sister, Judie Izer on May 15, 2000; and her parents.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crisci will be on Monday, May 7, 2001 from the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway (Rte. 25), Montgomery, IL at 11:30a.m. to Holy Angels Church at 12:00(noon). Fr. Oscar E. Jones
Oscar E. Jones, age 75, of Sandwich, IL, passed away Friday, May 4, 2001 at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
He was born June 17, 1925 in Plano, the son of Charles P. and Frannie B. (Cottingim) Jones. He married Marjorie A. Behrens on April 10, 1948 in Plano. Oscar attended Plano Schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Sig. Corp. serving during W.W. II. He was employed for several years for Ken Olson Construction in Aurora and then later owned O.J. Redwood Signs in Plano, retiring in 1994. Oscar attended First Baptist Church of Plano, was a 50 year member of Plano American Legion Post #395 and Aurora Laborers Union. He was an avid White Sox fan but love sports of all kinds. The true love of his life was being with his family and friends and reunions with his Army friends and spending the winter months in Bradenton, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie Jones of Sandwich; one daughter, Karen (Dale) Torkelson of Sandwich, IL; one son Gary Jones of Plano; four grandsons, Randy Torkelson, Greg (Cyndi) Torkelson, Tim (Carrie) Torkelson and Brian Torkelson; two great-granddaughters, Rachel and Hallie; three sister-in-laws, Emma Jones of Plano, Kay Jone and Evelyn Jones both of Colorado. Oscar is also survived by several nieces and nephews to include one special niece, Jean Thompson of Camden, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Maude Jerdon and four brothers, Shelty, Wendell, Paul and Clarence and two nephews, Don Wright and Ralph Jones.

Virginia M. Losievsky
Virginia M. Losievsky, 78 of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at Provena McAuley Manor. She was born December 29, 1922 in Oregon, Illinois.
Virginia was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, was a volunteer at New Encounters, was a life member of the P.T.A. of Simmons School and the East Aurora School District, and was a member of the Fox Valley Rocks and Mineral Society.
Survivors include her two sons: Stephen (Colleen) Losievsky of Plymouth, Wisconsin and Michael (DeVawn) Losievsky of Westminster, Colorado; two daughters: Ruth (Charles) Wood of Aurora and Janet (Jeff) Sipos of Montgomery; six grandchildren: Lt. USN Joseph R. and Gerald Losievsky and their mother, Pamela Losievsky all of Mt. Prospect, Michael and Amanda Losievsky both of Westminster, CO and Renee and Erin Losievsky both of Plymouth, Wisconsin; her sister-in-law, Mary Leddy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Steve Losievsky in 1997; her parents, Thomas J. and Vern (Burr) Leddy; two brothers, Thomas and Robert Leddy; and her sister, Juanita Eytalis.

Marion "Lila" Raboine, 86, died Saturday, May 5, 2001 at her nieces home in Yorkville, IL. She was born May 10, 1914 in Aurora, IL.
Survived by her two sisters, Ruby Rissman of Plainfield, IL and Elizabeth "Betty" (Russell) Parsons of Panama City, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her four brothers, Roy, Norman, Clem and Aaron Raboine; and two sisters, Ruth Huss and Helen Agnes Raboine.
Marion has been a resident of Plainfield since the early 90's, moving here from Panama City, FL. She had retired from General Electric in Chicago, IL after many years of service. Was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Joliet, IL. Served in the Women's Aircorps during World War II.

Ida Mae Skow, 92, of Newark, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2001 at Hillside Healthcare Center in Yorkville, Il.
She was born January 4, 1909 in big Rock, IL the daughter of Frank and Ellen (Williams) Benjamin. Ida Mae was united in marriage on July 23, 1927 in Aurora, IL to Mr. Harold Skow. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Mrs. Skow was a member for nearly 60 years of the Helmar Lutheran Church in Helmar, IL.
Survivors include two daughters, Ione Martin of Plano, IL, Carol (Russell) Fruland of Sheridan; her son-in-law, Leroy "Bud" Thanepohn of Sandwich, IL; nine grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Skow on April 3, 1995; her son, James Skow; her daughter, Marilyn Thanepohn; her grandson, Bob Fruland; her sister, Eunice Kitner; and her son-in-law, Max Martin.

Mrs. Jane A. Tesch, 75, of Montgomery, passed away Friday, May 4, 2001 at Aurora Manor.
She was born on September 22, 1925 in Aurora the daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Binder) Reck.
Mrs. Tesch is survived by her husband, Rollin of Montgomery; one son, Jeffrey (Janet) Tesch of Orland Park, IL; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Andrew Tesch; one sister, Ruth (Elmer) Haag of Aurora; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.

Mrs. Edith F. M. Feldman, 96 of Aurora passed away Sunday, May 6, 2001 at Countryside Care Center.
She was born on May 5, 1905 in Hinckley, the daughter of the late Harry and Friederika (Hempfling) King.
Edith was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She married Raymond Feldman in 1931.
Mrs. Feldman is survived by a sister-in-law, Neva King; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Elizabeth Michelson and Mae Smith; three brothers, Edward, Artie and Ralph King; and four half brothers.
