Survived by his loving wife Theresa (Pluth) Penosky; devoted children, Michael (Jodi) Penosky of Atlanta, Ga., James (Shemi) Penosky of Long Island, NY, Mary Beth Penosky of Joliet, Carole (Jack) Jacoby and Julie Penosky of Middleton, Wis. First grandchild Leo Jacoby due November 9. One sister Geraldine (Charles) Mozina, sisters-in-law Jean (Robert) Verbiscer, Emily (Joseph) Beerbower, Charlene (Jerry) Mulh, Mary Anne (Rudy) Hejny, Dorothy (David) Koehler and Pat Pluth. Brothers-in-law Frank (Pam) Pluth and Larry Pluth (Mary Hensley); one aunt Dorothy Penosky. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents Michael and Alma (Briese) Penosky; brother-in-law Gilbert Pluth.
Born in Joliet. U.S. Army Veteran. Leo graduated from DePaul University with Honors in Accounting.

Age 89, lifelong resident of Lemont. At rest July 23rd in St. Louis, MO. Retired inspector for Union Oil Refinery.
Survived by one daughter, Sandra (Gene) Tschida of Cumberland, WI; two sons James (Leatrice) of St. Louis, MO, and Lee (Gloria) of Lemont; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister Eileen Locasto of Joliet; companion Estelle Kaminski; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; brothers, Les and Thomas; and his parents, John & Nora (nee Reichel).

Age 95, of Braidwood, IL passed away Thursday, July 26, 2001 at the Embassy Care Center in Wilmington, IL. born June 26, 1906 in Braidwood to the late Joseph and Anna Baber. Formerly employed at A.P. Green in Morris, IL which was previously know as IL Clay Products. Member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Knights of Columbus #1574 in Braidwood.
Survived by two daughters, Dorothy (Domenic) Favero and Irene (James) Dalziel, both of Braidwood, IL; five grandchildren, Ralph (Debra) Favero Diana (Ray) Schumacher, Janelle Dixon, Dennis and Denise Dalziel; ten great-grandchildren, Amanda and Meghan Favero, Dan Rotta Shelly McCreery, Ryan and Phillip Schumacher, Amanda (Erbie) Gentry, Jessica Dalziel and Allison and Jenna Dixon; two great-great grandchildren, Daniel Rotta Jr., and Amber Gentry; one brother, Edward (Lucy) Baber of Coal City, IL; one sister, Emma Kavanaugh of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Angelina F. (nee Girot) whom he married September 23, 1931; and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, Monday, July 30, at 9:30 a.m. to the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Bondi officiating. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington, IL. Pallbearers will be Ray, Ryan and Phillip Schumacher, Ralph Favero, Dan Rotta, and Dennis Dalziel. Age 77 years. Passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at her late residence. born on October 28, 1923 in Joliet. She was a life-long resident. Member of the CCW of Holy Family Church, Holy Family Parish Family Friends Club, The Ladies Auxiliary of Cantigny Post VFW #367 and she served as a volunteer for Shepherd's Table.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph W. and Myrtle W. (nee Hendrick) Loetscher; three sisters, Josephine Rogers, Bertha Webb and Mary Keto; one brother, Raymond Loetscher.
Survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Louis F. Bortoli; one son, Mark (Melissa) Bortoli of Joliet; two daughters, Luann (Michael) Krall and Deborah (Thomas) Vargo, both of Minooka; eight grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew Bortoli, Aaron (Aimee) and Benjamin Krall, Joshua, Nicholas, Katherine and Bryan Vargo; one brother-in-law, John (late, Mary) Keto; one sister-in-law, Eileen (late, Raymond) Loetscher; aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

Age 51. Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at home with his family.
Survived by his loving wife, Michelle (Gornik) Englert; children, Todd Short Jr., Jessica and Kristian Englert; brothers, William, John and Thomas Englert; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred (Ortleb) Englert.
Born in New Jersey, Joliet area resident most of his life. Earned an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Illinois State University and a Masters Degree in Psychology from Governors State University. One of the Pioneers of the Mobil Oil Refinery, employed since March of 1972. Dennis has left a piece of himself with the many lives he has touched and changed through his counseling, mentoring and friendship. Longtime volunteer for the United Way in conjunction with Mobil Oil. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.

Age 65 of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2001.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Charles; daughters, Anne Hamilton of Tucson and Becky (Barry) Henwood of Vista, CA; son, Charles (Margie) Hamilton III of Menifee, CA; grandchildren, Jennifer of Los Angeles, CA, Brian and Bridget of Vista, CA, Ashley and Charles IV of Menifee, CA; brothers, Clarence (Marilyn) Jones of Sun City, AZ, Francis (Jackie) Jones of Joliet, IL and Allen (Judy) Jones of Joliet; sister, Marilyn (Gerald) Johnson of Joliet and numerous nieces and nephews.

Passed away peacefully at his residence on July 26, 2001.
Survived by his loving wife, Lorraine (Petersen) of Joliet; three children, Douglas (Michelle) Racich, Lenore (Mark) Kost and Lynda (Brian) Wielbik; eight grandchildren, Moira, Maggie and Nolan Racich, Joel and Sarah Kost, Alex, Emily and Luke Wielbik; two sisters, Katherine Sharp (Stephen) Zaborsky and Mary Randolph; three brothers, Nicholas (Dorothy) Racich, Matthew (Barbara) Racich and James (Diane) Racich; sisters-in-law, Sandi Racich and Doris Racich. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Magdalena Racich; brothers, Peter, Louis, Vladimir and Daniel Racich.
John retired from First Midwest Bank after 40 years of service. He was passionate and dedicated in serving the Joliet community and received many awards and accolades for his leadership on various boards, committees and fundraisers throughout the area.
Funeral service will be held Monday, July 30, 2001 at 10:30 AM. at First Lutheran Church of Joliet. Interment at Hills of Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Survived by four children, Stanley (Dorothy) Russell of Phoenix, AZ, Charles (Tara) Russell of Aurora, IL, Elise (Raymond) Wittkamp of Crest Hill, IL, and Sharon (Anton) Matesi of Honesdale, PA; 14 grandchildren, James Russell, Margaret Russell, Charles (Mary) Russell, Linda (David) Emermine, John Russell, Cynthia (Mike) Erickson, Sandra (James) Ryan, Ramon Reyes, Daniel (Nancy) Reyes, Lisa Reyes, Andrew Reyes, Christine (John) Ives, Ann Matesi, Anton Matesi IV; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Stanley (1960); a son, Peter Christian, in infancy; her parents, John and Elise (Nee Hamsen) Mathisen; a brother, Alvin (Ethna) Mathisen; two sisters, Florence (Carl) Youngdahl and Pearl (Albert) Raihl.
Lolita was a devoted wife and mother, an inspiration to her children and grandchildren. She was proud of her Danish heritage, and traveled to Denmark for her 80th birthday. She began her career as a secretary with the Howard Insurance Agency and later the Sprague Insurance Agency. born on October 17, 1909 in Homer Township, she lived most of her life in the Joliet area.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.
