Bessie Mae Chestnut
Bessie Mae Chestnut, 60, of Danville, passed this life at 6:33 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 27, 2003) at her residence.
She was born Nov. 11, 1943., in Webb, Miss., the daughter of Dank and Mae Bell McGee Brown.
She married John Chestnut March 16, 1962.
He preceded her in death Feb. 23, 1982.
Survivors include: two sons, Larry Chestnut of East St. Louis, and Warren Chestnut of Danville; three daughters, Wanda Chestnut and Amy Chestnut, both of Danville, and Barbara Chestnut of Bloomington, Ill.; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Willie (Leroy) Robinson and Martha Tyler, both of Danville; two brothers, Earnest Brown of Chicago, and Dank Brown, Jr. of Webb, and a very special friend, Cecil Peguese of Danville.
She was preceded by her parents, a daughter, two sisters and three brothers.
Bessie was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, gardening, gospel music and cooking.
She was a member and loved her church and pastor, New Life Church of Faith.
Funeral services: 12 noon Thursday, Dec. 4 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman; the family will be present from 11 a.m. until time of the service;

Hazel Haire
ROSSVILLE — Hazel Haire, 81, of Rossville, died at 9:50 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 7, 2003) at Hoopeston Community Memorial Nursing Home in Hoopeston.

Hazel was born April 16, 1922, in Hoopeston, the daughter of Walter H. and Nellie Crose Probasco.
She graduated from Stockland Township High School in Stockland.
She married Allen N. Haire, April 25, 1943, in California.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue (John) Colwell of Wheaton, and Donna (Steve) Alpers in Ohio; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Violet Henry
WESTVILLE — Violet M. Henry, 88, of Westville, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 7, 2003) at Provena USMC, Logan campus in Danville.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1914, in Vermilion County, the daughter of John and Ina Jumps Bryant.
She married Merile Henry in Danville.
He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1960.
Survivors include: a son, John (Connie) Henry of Deer Lodge, Mont.; two daughters, Alma (Russ) Odum of Westville, and Susan (Kenneth) Tison of Westville; a daughter-in-law; Sally Henry of Catlin; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Merile, one son: Frank, three brothers, and two sisters.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, making jams, especially raspberry jam, listening to country music, as well as watching television and working crossword puzzles.
Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Randy S. Goff
Randy S. Goff, 44, of Danville, died at 2:05 a.m. Friday (Aug. 8, 2003) at Provena USMC.
Randy was born Aug. 13, 1958, in Danville, to Allen T. and Betty J. (Quick) Goff; they survive.
Other survivors include: three children, Megan, Rebecca and Scott Goff, all of Oakwood; three brothers, Jim (Judy) Goff and Larry Goff, both of Danville, and Rick (Lori) Goff of Arbor Vitae, Wis.; two sisters, Diane (Paul) Brozio of Decatur, and Judy (Robert, Jr.) Davis of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.
Randy graduated from DHS in 1976.
He served in the Illinois Army National Guard for two years.
He worked for the Carpenter's Local 269.
He was a member of the Vermilion Heights Christian Church.
He enjoyed darts and collecting baseball cards, and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

Frank Gibson, Jr.
Frank Gibson, Jr., 67, of Danville, passed this life at 4:05 a.m. Saturday (June 14, 2003) at Provena USMC, Logan campus.
He was born Nov. 13, 1935, in Hughes, Ark., the son of Frank L. Gibson, Sr. and Mary L. Cummings.
Survivors: his mother, Mary L. Cummings of Danville; a daughter, Sathunda (Calvin, Sr.) Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Ruth Sanford of Danville; three grandsons; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded by his father, a brother and a sister.
He enjoyed cooking, Southern Gospel music and boxing.
He formerly worked as a cook at Peabody Hotel in Memphis.
He was a member of Saint Synagogue COGIC, where he served as a church deacon, usher and sang in the choir.

Alice Emerita Fazekas Dries
Alice Emerita Fazekas Dries, 82, of Old Fort, N.C., died Tuesday (April 8, 2003) at the McDowell Hospital after a period of declining health.
Born in Georgetown, Ill., to the late Joseph Fazekas and Mary Steger Fazekas, she is preceded in death by her husband Joe, and one infant son, Charles.
She is survived by one son, Joseph, one daughter-in-law, Denise and one grandson, Joey, all of Old Fort.
She is also survived by one sister, Matilda Shea of Pineole, Calif.; and a very special friend, John Lewis of Memphis, Tenn.
Alice was a horticulturist and educator from 1965, until her retirement in 1991.
In addition to founding the Ornamental Horticulture Program at Danville Community College.
Alice held a B.S. as well as a M.S. in Ornamental Horticulture.
She was certified in Floral Design, Landscaping, and was co-owner of Dries for Flowers in Danville, Ill.
After retiring, Alice was active in Master Gardeners and numerous Garden Clubs in western North Carolina.
She gave freely of her time to numerous civic organizations including 4-H programs in both Illinois, and North Carolina.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Marius O. Duckworth, 21, of Danville, passed this life at 8:20 p.m. Saturday (April 5, 2003), at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Nov. 22, 1981, in Danville, the son of Charles R. Clark, Jr. and Mary Ann Duckworth.
Survivors include: his father, Charles (Evelyn) Clark, Jr. of Danville; four brothers, Darvic White of Terre Haute, Ind., Tavaris Duckworth and Tommie Bolden, both of Danville, and Charles R. Clark, III of Canada; a special uncle, Donnie Ray Duckworth of Danville; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother and grandparents.
Marius was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cars and music.
He attended the Danville schools.

Amos Eugene Rudolph
Amos Eugene "Gene" Rudolph, 60, of Palmetto, Fla., died March 13, 2003, at his home.
He was cremated, per his wishes.
Gregory H. Trenter
Gregory H. Trenter was born June 10, 1944 in Chicago, to Dorothy Norman Trenter and Theodore Roosevelt Trenter.
He died Feb. 7, 2003, at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Danville.
His family surrounded him with love during his fight with a severe illness.
Greg grew up in Morris, more recently of Joliet.
He enjoyed basketball, football and track and lettered in all these sports at Morris High School.
He graduated in 1963.
He attended Luther College and played varsity football as a freshman.
He served in the United States Air Force for four years.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.
Greg loved his country and his family.
He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion Post 1080 and a Vietnam Veteran.
Greg was a hard worker with a strong work ethic.
He was a confirmed member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by four children, Michael Trenter, Mark (Alison) Trenter, Michele (Andrew) Trenter-Fraine and Gregory (Dawn) Trenter; three sisters Phyllis (Richard) Roth, Marcia Trenter and Robin (Dave) Schneider; one brother, Ted (Inga) Trenter; and eight grandchildren, Jordan, Justin, Brittney, Taryn, Torie, Tessa, and Gianna.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Westwood Memorial Chapel, 3201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet.
Interment: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, in Elwood.
