Dorothy J. O'Connor
Age 77, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet. She is survived by four daughters: Anice (Harvey) Spier of Channahon, Margaret Chellino of Manhattan, Patricia (Robert) Edwards of Manhattan, and Kathleen O'Connor of San Antonio, TX; one son, Charles (Trish) O'Connor of Crest Hill; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ron (Char) Bruggeman of Morton, IL and Bob Bruggeman of Manhattan.
Preceded in death by her parents, George and Laura Beasley Bruggeman; her husband, Charles O'Connor; a grandson, Timothy Chelino; a sister, Nora Harmon; and a brother, George Bruggeman.
Dorothy worked for several years at the Joliet Arsenal, during WW II. She was a dedicated member of the Manhattan American Legion Post 935, for 42 years, serving as the Women's Auxiliary President for over 20 years.
Funeral service for Dorothy J. O'Connor will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2002, from the Forsythe Funeral Chapel, 320 Eastern Ave., Manhattan, to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 W. North Street, Manhattan, 10 a.m. mass. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials to the Manhattan American Legion would be most appreciated. Visitation Thursday from 4-8 p.m.

Age 78, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at Provena Villa Franciscan. Long time resident of the Joliet Area. Member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Sinkular; her son, Donald D. Sinkular; her parents, Henry and Thora (nee Lindholm) Phillips; and her brothers: George, Albert and Lawrence Phillips.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rita (Robert) Marquardt, Sr., Raymond (Jane) Sinkular, Anna Mae (late Francis) Sinkular, Lorraine (late Raymond) Rink, Beverly (late James) Sinkular, Katherine (late Frank) Hnetkovski, and Eleanor (Ben) McQuerry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Westwood Memorial Chapel on Thursday, August 1, 2002 at 1 p.m. Fr. Medard Buvala presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Age 77. Passed away suddenly Monday, July 29, 2002. born July 5, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, she was raised here in Joliet and has lived here most of her life. Member of the Senior Citizens Association.
Preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Samuel G. Wason; two sisters, Mary Grzetich and Ann Minor; one brother, Joe Magercak.

Age 85, Monday, July 30, 2001 at her home in New Lenox.
Survived by one daughter, Donna (Roger) Rogde; two sons, Richard (Yvonne) Bachert, David (Connie) Bachert; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth (Rev. Luther) Schwartzkopf; one brother, Donald (Nellie) Stelter.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, living in New Lenox since 1984. Employed by Sears at 62nd and Western Ave., Chicago, for ten years. Member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bachert (1972); and her parents, Bernard and Bertha Stelter.

Joe Eddie Crayton
Age 66, received his wings on Monday July 30, 2001 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet. He was born on March 21, 1935 in Indianola, MS. to the late Isiah Crayton and Alton Garrette. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters, and one son.
Joe was employed at General Refinery Brickyard and Wurlington Organ. He was then employed with Joliet Mass Transit Bus Service where he retired after 25 years in 1990. He was a member of Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Elder Autry Perry Sr. where he was faithful until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Juanita Crayton, Laura (Mark) Allen and April Ramsey; two sons, Mark (Kim) Crayton and David (Martha) Crayton; 18 grandchildren; a sister, Ann Clay; two brothers, Robert "Tex" Harvell and Maurice Dunnigan; ex-wife and friend, Clara Graham and Opal Boozer. Two godsons, Will Terry, Micheal Barber Jr.; two goddaughters, Darlene, Dikki Barber; five sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law. Best friends, Ulish Moore Jr., Elder Clyde Moore, and Clarence Dace. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Age 18, of rural Morris, IL, died early Monday morning, July 30, 2001 from injuries he received in an auto accident.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday, August 3, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, IL. Burial will be in the West Lisbon Cemetery where Military Services will be conducted by the G. Battery ADA. The Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2001 at the Fruland Funeral Home in Morris, IL from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
He was born on August 6, 1982 in Joliet, IL and was the son of Jeffrey and Judith (Chinderle) Hauge. He graduated from the Newark High School with the Class of 2000. He was presently attending the Joliet Junior College. He was a Private First Class in the Marseiles National Guard and also working as a Recruiter. He graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina with high honors in October 2000.
He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Judith Hauge of rural Morris, IL; two sisters, Kristi Anne Hauge of rural Morris, IL, Katie Elizabeth Hauge of rural Morris, IL; maternal grandmother, Betty Chinderle of Joliet, IL; paternal grandparents, Vernon and Myrtle Hauge of rural Morris, IL; three aunts, Karen Jean Lowry, Plainfield, IL, Jill (Mike) Morris of Yorkville, IL, Teresa (Dave) Drier of Yorkville, IL; his girlfriend, Christina Batt of Newark, IL; ten cousins, Jennifer (Tom) Stumo, Scott Lowry, Jacquelyn Lowry, Chris Morris, Josh Morris, Shannah Morris, Sarah Morris, Alex Drier and Dana Drier. age 85, died peacefully at home to join his wife in heaven on July 21, 2001.
Preceded in death by his mother Ida, Father Emil, by his wife Rachael Lucille (Nordenberg) Lindgren (1996), and sisters Hilda & Myrtle Lindgren, Esther Krause, Ethel Waite, Edith Keefer, Florence Longanecker and brother Reynold.
The best father in the world is survived by daughters Kaye L. Lindgren, Charlene R. Lindgren and future son in law, Ernie Anderson, retired Air Force Officer/pilot. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl was a retired artist and commercial illustrator. Lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church, attended the Christian Youth Center's Thursday Morning Bible Study. Lived in Joliet, Rockford, and Wheaton area. Worked at Scripture Press, Gospel Light and Amerock.
Graduated Joliet Township Class of 1934, was a member of the Joliet Township High School Band.

Passed away suddenly at Silver Cross Hospital Sunday, July 29, 2001. Age 51 years.
Survived by his wife of 28 years, Carol Ortega (Nee Kombol); seven children, Deborah (Ernest) Rodrigues of Greeley, CO, Victoria Moffett of Joliet, Stephen (Karen) Parker of Channahon, Jacqueline Parker, Julie Ortega, Geraldine Hughs and Jeronimo J. Ortega III, all of Joliet; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar Ortega of Joliet and Armondo Fidencio Ortega of Ft. Worth, TX; four sisters, Oliva Ortega, Olga Reyes, Juanita Ortega, and Velma Alvarado, all of Ft. Worth, TX.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jeronimo J. and Juana Ortega; also, two brothers in infancy.
Jeronimo was an operator with the City of Joliet Sewage Treatment Plant for 29 years. Veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Army. Member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and watching baseball with his grandchildren.
