Age 88, of Lemont, August 1, 2002. born in Lemont, a lifelong resident. He was a retired furniture upholsterer.
Survived by his wife, Lucille, nee Szafranski; a son, Jim (Beverly) Chmielewski of Sauk Village, IL; a daughter, Diane (Roger) Lauritzen of Rockford; five grandchildren, Edward (Pamela) Chmielewski, Todd Chmielewski, Janet Lauritzen, Linda Lauritzen, and William Lauritzen; two great grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Chmielewski; two brothers, Edmund (Jean) Chmielewski of Lemont and George Chmielewski of Romeoville; and a sister, Theresa Kulpinski of Lemont.
Preceded in death by a sister, Helen Chmielewski; and two brothers, Max and Stanley Chmielewski.

One brother John Hamilton.
Preceded in death by parents John and Genevieve (Seeley) Hamilton and one sister Catherine Hamilton.
Born in Joliet, a lifelong resident. Graduated from St. Raymond's and St. Francis Academy. Retired from Silver Cross Hospital after 25 years. Member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Age 59. died suddenly Wednesday, July 31, 2002. born in Joliet on August 11, 1942 and a lifetime resident. Graduate of Joliet Township High School. Retired from Electro-Motive in 1992 after over 30 years of service. An avid fisherman. Member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
Survived by his wife, Donna nee Hartley, (Zimmerman) Kijowski; four children, Karen (Paul) Kalbacher of Lakeland, FL, William (Dawn) Kijowski, Julie (David) Frazier and Jeffrey Kijowski all of Joliet; his father, Andrew Kijowski of Joliet; stepchildren, Daryl Zimmerman of St. Louis and Diane (Brian) Elis of Tampa, FL. Proud grandpa of Marie and Nicole; Kayla and Jana; Ian, Jarod and Caitlynn; and Gabriel. Brother of Eleanore Steffens, Edward (Carol) Kijowski and Lawrence Kijowski. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Age 95. Passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in Hollywood, FL. born July 19, 1907 in Wesley Township in Will County.
Survived by his wife, Peggy of Hollywood, FL; two sons, James P. (Janet) Klover of Marseilles, IL and William J. (Margaret) Klover of Mandeville, LA; two daughters, Joan Benedict of Prosser, WA and Marilyn Tanner of Mandeville, LA; one sister, Mary Shives of Leesburg, FL; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four step children and 12 step-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (nee Van Duyne) 1980; wife, Mabel (nee Dotson) 1990; five brothers; two sisters, including Sr. DePaul, O.S.F. and five grandchildren.

Robert L. Rumple "Herbie"
Age 62, late of Lockport, Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. born in Joliet, life long Lockport resident. Employed by Lockport Police Department for 33 years, retiring in 1994. Member of Lockport Moose Lodge #1557 and life member of Illinois Police Association.
Preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Anna (Byrne) Rumple; one brother, James; two sisters, Janice Bistery and Lois Baldego.
Survived by one sister, Ann Marie Cromwell of Joliet; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Whitey and Carole Miller of Lockport; and their children, Sue (Greg) Bell, Diane (Stan) Nowicki and Bob (Lori) Miller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Hospice or St. Dennis Building Fund would be appreciated. At Robert's request, cremation rites were accorded.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, August 9th, 6:00 p.m. at St. Dennis Church, Lockport. Receiving of relatives and friends will be held from 5:30 p.m. until time of Mass.

John E. Harris, "Baldy"
Age 78, a resident of Minooka, formerly of Plainfield, IL. Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. He was born in Plainfield on September 6, 1924, the son of Stanley and Cornelia Harris.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Ila Mae (nee Rudolf) of Minooka, his children John "Gene" (Sue) of Republic, MO, Sandy (Larry) Stenner of Stoughton, WI and Diane (fiance Joe Midlock) Welz of Joliet, his grandchildren Jenifer, Clint (Rachel), Anna, Jessica, Courtney and Blair, and his great-grandchildren Zachary, Payton, Alexandra, Baily and Savanah. Also survived by his brother Paul (Lu) Harris of Ottawa and his sister Evelyn (the late Don) Bohrer of Plainfield.
Preceded in death by his parents and his great-grandson Jakob.
John was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, Pacific Theatre, a member of the Operating Engineers Local #150, Joliet for more than 45 years, and a lifelong member of Sharon United Methodist Church, Plainfield. His love of the outdoors, especially fishing, will be fondly remembered.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7 from 2 until time of services at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Douglas Booth officiating. A private family inurnment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to either the Sharon United Methodist Church - 216 West Lockport Street, Plainfield, 60544 OR the American Heart Association- 208 South LaSalle Street, Suite 900, Chicago, 60604.

Age 48. Passed away Thursday, July 31, 2003 at his residence with his family at his side.
Survived by two sons, Cody and Ryan Markelz and their mother Sally; mother Betty Markelz; one sister Dawn (Karl) Knoop and one brother Bill (Marianne) Markelz. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his father John W. Markelz.
Born in Joliet, a lifelong resident. Member of Carpenters Local #174 and the Deercreek Recreation Club. Richard was an avid outdoors man.

Irene E. Severson (nee McCabe)
Age 86. At rest Friday, August 1, 2003 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. born in Kinsman, IL and a resident of Joliet since 1946. A former self employed beautician. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, the Paulites, Catholic Womens League and the Joliet Womens Club. Mrs. Severson enjoyed ceramics and was an avid bowler.
Surviving is her loving husband of 66 years, Emmett J. Severson of Joliet. Her daughter, Susan S. Roncone of Vista, CA. Her son, John E. (Lisa) Severson of Elwood. Eight grandchildren, Dr. Christopher (Dr. Tinou), Erik (Sheila), Jonathan, Alexander (Marisa) and Bridgette Roncone, Josh and Nick Martinez, Neil Severson. Two great grandchildren, Ella and Mia Roncone. Her brother, Floyd "Joe" (Nancy) McCabe of Pine Island, FL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary. Parents, John and Elva (Cushing) McCabe. Her brother, John Francis McCabe and her sister, Veronica Cleal.

Age 79. Friday, July 30, 2004 at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook. born July 24, 1925 in Joliet and a long time resident, formerly of Princenton, WI.
Survived by two sons, David (Helen) Anderson of Crest Hill and Dennis Anderson of Minooka; granddaughter, Melanie Sage of Wilmington; her stepbrother, Gerald Fairburn; and stepsister, Judy.
Preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Anderson (Feb. 2004); one son, Daniel Anderson; her father, Samuel Fairburn; and her mother, Frances (nee Kaminski) Korst.
