Age 88, of Lemont August 2, 2001. born in Chicago, residing in Lemont for the past 53 years. Employed by School District #113, Lemont, for 20 years, retiring in 1980. Life member and Past President of the Lemont Area Historical Society and member and Secretary of the Lemont Police Commission.
Preceded in death by her husband, James E. Bittles Jr.
Survived by two sons, James (Diane) of Downers Grove and John (Penny) of Lemont; two grandchildren, Michael Bittles of Downers Grove and Elizabeth (Aaron) Anderson of Des Moines, IA; two sisters, Doris (John) Puttock of Rochester, NY and Lorraine (Grover) Kistler of Spring Hill, FL; sister-in-law, Marge Bittles of Lemont.

Age 74. At rest Friday, August 3, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
Survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Roscoe Bonham; a son, Charles (Nancy) Robinson of Arkansas; three daughters, Nadine (Lance) McCalla, Mary (Dennis) Alberico and Diane (Duane) Sadler of Louisiana; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resided in Joliet area for 46 years.
Preceded by her parents, Albert and Clara (Hiller) Fender; four brothers, George, Albert, Richard and Robert Fender; one sister, Louise Carpenter.
Dorothy was an avid Cub fan and bingo player.

Age 74, late of Homer Glen. Passed away peacefully Thursday, August 2, 2001 in his home, surrounded by all his family.
Survived by four sons, John (Brenda) of KY, William (Gail) of New Lenox, Mario Jr. (Karen) & Richard (Andrea), both of Lockport; three daughters, Betty (Scott) Olisar of Darien, Catherine (Ronald Sr.) Humphrey of Lockport, and Barbara (Lyle) McGinn of Coal City; also survived by nineteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Joyce" nee Carlson; his parents, John and Antonia (Pesavento) Carli; two brothers, Edward "Pete" and Joseph; one sister, Josephina Vercellino.
Member St. Dennis Church, Lockport. Lifetime member of the Bricklayers Union Local 14, Trustee of the N.W. Homer Fire Department for 37 years. Lockport Rotarian for 30 years, Past President along with several awards. U.S. Army veteran served with 465th AAA Gun Bn. Squadron and as an Automotive Mechanic.

Roy K. Christensen
Funeral services for Roy K. Christensen, 69, La Junta, CO were held June 16, 2001. Mr. Christensen died June 12, 2001 at his La Junta home.
He was born Jan 16, 1932 in Joliet to Arthur I. and Cita H. (Wood) Christensen. He grew up in Joliet and graduated from J.T.H.S. He served i the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflicts and moved to Colorado in 1966. He managed Colorado Moving and Storage in Pueblo and enjoyed farming wherever he lived. He married Grace (Jackson) Tice on April 21, 1998.
He is survived by his wife; brother, Art (Marion) Christensen of Colorado Springs; sister Barbara Bauer of Foley, AL; daughter, Keitha of Perryville, MO; two grandchildren; several stepchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Kent Christensen.

Member of St. Dennis Catholic Church, Women's Aux. of The Lockport VFW, Lockport Strike & Spare Bowling League & former Will County Senior Bowling Queen. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Louis Kelm and Leo Kelm. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Allen; a daughter, Donna (Peter) Bingham of New Lenox, a son, Cliff (Sandy) Ekkert of Lockport; six grandchildren, Adam, Dean, Dana and Amie Bingham, Casey and Kip Ekkert; and a brother, Melvin (Eileen) Kelm. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Age 76. At rest Thursday, August 2, 2001 at her late residence following a 10 year battle with cancer. born in Green Bay, WI and a resident of Plainfield the past 50 years. Formerly employed by Argonne National Laboratory. Member of the VFW JUD Kendall Post Naperville Ladies Auxiliary and the Clearwater, FL Garden Club.
Beloved wife of Matthew J. Featherstone of Plainfield. Loving mother of Barbara (Ralph) Chilvers of Beloit, WI, Matthew P. Age 72. Passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 in Tucson, Arizona with her children by her side. Daughters Marsha and Penny Johns live in Tucson, son Rick Johns lives in Joliet.
Grace was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary #367 Cantigny Post.
Preceded in death by her husband (1988) Alvin Ray Johns; 2 sisters; 3 brothers.
Numerous nieces and nephew's survive as one sister Roberta Zehr (Roy).

Born and raised in Mokena, Carrol was a lifelong Mokena resident. He served as a fireman on the Mokena Volunteer Fire Department and was Assistant Fire Chief from 1956-1959 and Fire Chief from 1959-1962. He worked at the M. Cooper Supply Co. in Orland Park from 1962 until retirement. He never lost his love of time spent with family and friends at the cottage on the river.

Survived by his wife, Lucille, nee Szafranski; a son, Jim (Beverly) Chmielewski of Sauk Village, IL; a daughter, Diane (Roger) Lauritzen of Rockford; five grandchildren, Edward (Pamela) Chmielewski, Todd Chmielewski, Janet Lauritzen, Linda Lauritzen, and William Lauritzen; two great grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Chmielewski; two brothers, Edmund (Jean) Chmielewski of Lemont and George Chmielewski of Romeoville; and a sister, Theresa Kulpinski of Lemont.

Age 23 years, died suddenly Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. born in Cleveland, Mississippi, he formerly resided in Joliet. JTHS Central ('96). He has resided in South Bend for four years.
Preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his daughter Mya, five sisters: Idreana (Clarence) Barber and La Shonda Edwards both of Joliet. Ora (Kenny) Minton, Nami Johnson and Bertha Johnson all of South Bend, Ind. Two brothers: Henry (Ann) Harris and Setoria (Akeisha) Johnson both of South Bend.
