LLOYD ANTHONY 'TONY' SUTTON
Lloyd Anthony "Tony" Sutton, 37, of Rolling Meadows, Ill., formerly of Sycamore and Rock Falls areas, passed away on Oct. 1, 2003, at Rochelle Community Hospital.
Born Sept. 18, 1966, in DeKalb, he was the son of Lloyd L. and Deborah P. (Royalty) Sutton. He married Tammy S. Beckley in Rolling Meadows on April 11, 1999.
Tony was employed as a service writer for Northwest Valley Dodge in Elgin, was a graduate of Rock Falls High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1984-1988. Tony enjoyed fishing and racing at Sycamore Speedway.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy; two sons, Logan Anthony and Lucas Andrew; two stepchildren, Jack and Sarah Beckley; his mother, Deborah Sutton of Sycamore; his father, Lloyd (Corrina) Sutton of Chana; his siblings, Jodi (John) Isom of Davis Junction, and Heather, Hailey and Josh, all of Chana; his maternal grandparents, Red and Ruth Royalty of DeKalb; three nieces and nephews, Zachary, Alexandra and Samantha; his aunts and uncles David (Jan) Royalty, Dennis Royalty and Glenna (David) Johnson; and several great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lee and Eloise Sutton; and an uncle, Dale Royalty.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S. Fourth St., in DeKalb. Cremation will follow at the Anderson Funeral Home Crematory.

MERRILL V. ANDERSON
Merrill V. Anderson, 89, of Malta, Ill., passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, while farming.
Born March 20, 1914, in rural Sycamore, he was the son of Carl and Anna Anderson. He married Sylvia F. Lockenour on Oct. 12, 1940, at First Lutheran Church in DeKalb.
Merrill farmed all of his life. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in DeKalb, the DeKalb Farm Bureau and Prime Timers. He loved to travel and enjoyed his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; six children, Gloria (Denny) Stehl of Freeport, Shirley (Raymond) Rohrer of Malta, Marilyn (Jan) Masilunis of Florida, Ross (Nancy) Anderson of Minnesota, Marlin (Ann) Anderson of Malta and Merlin (fiancée, Betty Naber) Anderson of Malta; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Sadie Lunn, and a sister-in-law, Verina Anderson, both of Malta; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Anna; two brothers, Harvey and Lyle Anderson; and a sister, Irene Ebbesen.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at First Lutheran Church in DeKalb, with the Rev. Marilyn G. Hanson officiating. Burial will follow at Malta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
A memorial is being established for Merrill V. Anderson in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, IL 60115.

CHARLES GRANT BRADFORD
Charles Grant Bradford, 81, of Sycamore, Ill., formerly of Maple Park, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Bethany Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in DeKalb.
Born July 13, 1922, in Bluford, he was the son of Barney and Minnie (Montgomery) Bradford. He retired from Elburn Packing Co. after working there 43 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Maple Park American Legion post.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris Bradford of Sycamore; three daughters, Sandra (Dennis) Bauer of Machesney Park, Dawn (John) Barsanti of St. Charles and Pamela (Thomas) Taylor of Sycamore; two sons, Doug Bradford of Batavia and Patrick (Barbara) Bradford of Maple Park; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister.
The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

ELLA N. CREIGHTON
Ella N. Creighton, 87, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Sycamore, Ill., died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, in Lincoln.
Born Feb. 2, 1916, in Sycamore, she was the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Tumze) Schaack. She married James W. Creighton in 1955 at Sycamore United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed by Ideal Industries in Sycamore.
She was a former member of Sycamore United Methodist Church and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lincoln. She was an active volunteer for the Meals On Wheels program and for Bryan Memorial Medical Center.
She is survived by a brother, J.R. "Bob" (Mary) Schaack of Kingston; a stepdaughter-in-law, Bernie Creighton of Des Plaines; two step-grandchildren; five nieces, Sheryl Holmes, Laurie (Joe) Malandra and Sue (Jim) McCue, all of Sycamore, Carol (Jay) Hencken of Genoa and Kay (Steve) Caldwell of Kingston; a nephew, Joe (Sue) Schaack of Cordova; and special friends Judi Cook and Joe Stewart of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1992; two sisters, Lillian Holmes and Agnes Altepeter; and a nephew, Ron Holmes.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave., with the Rev. Nancy Weingartner officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.

CHARLES DOUGLAS WITTROCK
Charles Douglas Wittrock, 59, of Sycamore, Ill., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, as the result of an automobile accident.
Born Oct. 15, 1943, in Cole Camp, Mo., he was the son of Henry and Freda (Schroeder) Wittrock. He married Judith A. Vosburgh on June 29, 1968, at Mayfield Congregational Church in Sycamore. He was employed as a mechanic by Sjostrom and Sons in Rockford. He was a member of the Teamsters local in Rockford. He was a 1961 graduate of Sycamore High School.
He is survived by his parents, Henry and Freda Wittrock of Sycamore; his wife, Judith Wittrock of Sycamore; a sister, Mary Ann (Vern) Bernhardt of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two brothers, Kenneth (Laura) Wittrock of White Heath and David (Pat) Wittrock of Bourbonnais; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Melody (Larry) Levi of Malden and Wendy Nelson of DeKalb; and a brother-in-law, Don (Cindy) Vosburgh of Sycamore.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home, with the Rev. Loren Krout officiating. Interment will be at Kingston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the funeral home.

KENNETH W. 'ACE' BURGE
Kenneth W. 'Ace' Burge, 83, of Sycamore, Ill., died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center in DeKalb.
Born Dec. 23, 1919, in Iowa, he was the son of Frank and Catherine Burge. He married Alice Farney Tucker in 1958 in Sycamore.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy in the Sea Bee's, construction division. He worked as a pipefitter for many years. He was a member of the Sycamore VFW, Sycamore Elks Lodge 1392 and Pipefitters Local 612.
Ace and his buddies loved to fish. He especially enjoyed the fishing trips to Minnesota with his group of friends. He also cherished his time relaxing in Florida. Ace was an avid sports fan and will be dearly missed by many.
He is survived by a stepson, Larry Tucker of Maple Park; two grandsons, Gregory and Matthew Tucker; and special friends, Fuz (Diane) Mathey and Brian Boyd, all of Sycamore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice; a stepson, Tom Tucker; and a sister.
The memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore with Fr. Stephen Knox officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, with an Elks service being recited at 1 p.m.

MILES DAVID GILLOTT
Miles David Gillott, 24, died suddenly Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003.
Miles was a beloved son, loving brother and cherished grandson. His family said, "Miles filled us all with joy, and his memory will be everlasting."
He is survived by his parents, Miles E. and Roberta Gillott; a brother, John Phillip; two grandparents, Jeanne Gillott of Oak Lawn and Bernice Tomcheck of Green Bay, Wis.; nine aunts and uncles, David and Maureen Gillott, Christopher and Jeanine Gillott, Gregg and Lori Gillott, David and Michelle Tomcheck and Patrick Tomcheck; 12 cousins, Matthew, Nicholas, Christine, Michael, Emily, Brittany, Craig, Eddie, Luke, Jenny, Nathan and Matthew; and many close friends and colleagues too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by a grandparent, Tracy Tomcheck; an aunt, Teresa Tomcheck; and a cousin, David.
The funeral procession will leave at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, from Muzyka Funeral Home, 2157 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, going to St. John Cantius Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the funeral home; additional parking is available at the southwest corner of Chicago and Leavitt.

MARTHA E. DITAMORE
Martha E. Ditamore, 91, of DeKalb, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at her home.
Born Aug. 9, 1912, in Crawfordsville, Ind., she was the daughter of Harry and Fanny (Bowman) Hesler. She married John W. Ditamore on Oct. 23, 1935, in Crawfordsville.
Martha was formerly employed by Purdue University. She was a former member of the Central Presbyterian Church in West Lafayette, Ind., for more than 50 years.
She is survived by a niece, Helen Louise (Ken) Schroder of Plymouth, Ind.; and a nephew, Virgil Hesler of Valdosta, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and a son, Bob Ditamore.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the DeKalb Area Retirement Center in the Oak Crest Chapel with the Rev. Marilyn G. Hanson of First Lutheran Church in DeKalb officiating. Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, Ind., at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8.

LINDA LEE DeBOLT
Linda Lee DeBolt, 63, of Seneca, Ill., formerly of Sycamore, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, with her husband by her side.
Born Jan. 23, 1940, in Aurora, she was the daughter of Ernest and Dorothy (Jukes) Palmatier. She married Jack DeBolt on June 30, 1979, in Elgin.
Linda was a graduate of Elgin High School. She was a homemaker and had formerly been employed by Turner Brass in Sycamore. Linda enjoyed and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jack, of Seneca; nine children, Vicky (Tom) Tyrrell, Terri (Dave) Holderness, Sheri (Ray) Warfield, Ricky (Carol) Miller, Kevin (Heidi) Miller, Jack (Julie) DeBolt, David (Diane) DeBolt, Jeff DeBolt and Rita (Kevin) Dobson; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her mother, Dorothy Orrell; two sisters, Pat Schuld of Rockford and Sandra (Bob) Skinner of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest; her stepfather, Edward Orrell; and two grandchildren, Angel Holderness and Brian Miller.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with the Rev. Larry Allison of Faith Baptist Church in DeKalb officiating. Burial will follow at Malta Cemetery in Malta. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the funeral home.

HAROLD A. RISSMAN
Harold A. Rissman, 86, of DeKalb, Ill., died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at his residence.
Born Feb. 16, 1917, in Waterman, he was the son of John M. and Emma (Podolski) Rissman. Harold married Evelyn Smiley in 1944.
Harold graduated from Waterman High School and then from Valparaiso University, earning his law degree. Harold served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps during World War II, earning the rank of lieutenant junior grade. Harold had practiced law in DeKalb for 48 years, retiring Dec. 31, 1997. He was a DeKalb County Zoning Enforcement officer from 1950-1967. He was a radio narrator for Immanuel Lutheran Church for more than 25 years. He was a 50-year member of the DeKalb American Legion and a member of DeKalb County Farm Bureau and the DeKalb County and Illinois State Bar Associations.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of DeKalb; a brother, William, of Minnesota; a sister, Lois Hesterburg of California; three sons, J. Kurt (Lora) Rissman of DeKalb, and Arlo (Lila) Rissman and Eric (Catherine) Rissman, both of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Ann, of Florida; 12 grandchildren, Ray (Julie) Rissman of DeKalb, Timothy and Wendy Rissman of DeKalb, Lydia (Gabe) McNeese of Colorado, Bethany (Damien) Hunter of Florida, Caitlin, Holly and Sarah Rissman, all of Florida, Zeke Rissman, Gabrielle Metzner of Maryland and Hayden (Elyssa) Ryce and Kahla Rissman, both of Florida; three great-grandchildren, Zachary and Nathan Rissman of DeKalb and Alivia Hunter of Florida; two very special friends and caregivers, Robert Gucik and Silvin Sadvar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Meta, Hilda and Vera; two brothers, Karl and Ervin; and a son, Neil.
A private family graveside service will be held at Johnson Grove Cemetery in rural Shabbona.
Memorials can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Sunday School; St. Paul Lutheran School, 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle; Hinckley Immanuel Lutheran Church; and Parkinson Research.
