William H. LeVitus
William H. LeVitus, 75, of Highwood died on Dec. 5, 2005.
He was born on Feb. 5, 1930 on the North Side of Chicago and graduated from Senn High School. He attended Marquette University and graduated from Loyola University and the Chicago-Kent College of Law. He played both high school and college basketball.
Mr. LeVitus had a probate law practice in Chicago for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lee LeVitus; his children, Tricia Hermes and Kurt (Amy) LeVitus; four grandchildren; and his siblings, Robert LeVitus of Naples Fla., Daniel LeVitus and Lucia "Mitzie" (Robert Nyland).
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Laura LeVitus.
Funeral Mass was held Dec. 10 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Highland Park. Interment was private.

Alexander H. Jolly Jr.
Alexander H. Jolly Jr., 94, a resident of Deerfield since 1997, died Dec. 1, 2005 in Riverwoods.
He was born on Aug. 24, 1911 in Scotland.
Mr. Jolly was born into a golfing family, where his father was a golf pro, he became an amateur golfer and captain of the golf team in Ann Arbor, Mich., while he went to school there. For most of his life he worked as a metallurgist for Wisconsin Steel.
He retired to San Diego where he lived for 25 years.
Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Donna Jolly; his two grandchildren; and his two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Reita and his son, Alexander "Mac" H. Jolly III.
All services were private.

Colin Boyce O'Brien
Colin Boyce O'Brien, 22, of Highland Park died suddenly Dec. 4, 2005 while in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was born Dec. 10, 1982 in Plano, Texas. He moved to Highland Park at the age of 6, attended Braeside Elementary School and Edgewood Middle School, and was a 2001 graduate of Highland Park High School.
Colin leaves behind his mother Ellen O'Brien and stepfather Barry Cohen, both of Elkhart Lake, Wis.; his father William Boyce, Jr. of South Bend, Ind.; his brother Reilly, of Highland Park; grandparents Mary and Daniel O'Brien of Highland Park, and Fran Boyce and the late William Boyce, Sr. of South Bend, Ind.; a great grandmother, Mary Grady of Carrollton, Texas; girlfriend Amy Kravitz of Tucson, Ariz.; a stepbrother Max Cohen and stepsister Abby Cohen of Elkhart Lake, Wis.; 21 aunts and uncles, and 20 first cousins.
He lived to experience life and was admired for, among other things, his innate fearlessness, his natural athleticism and his extraordinary zest for adventure. Motorcycling, snow boarding, kayaking, guitar playing, winter camping, star gazing and all things 1970s were sources of intense enjoyment.
His philosophy of life can be summed up in one word: Acceptance. And often in evidence were his unconventional, open-minded and nonjudgmental attitudes towards the differences and imperfections of others. In the words of one of his many friends, "Colin never had an unkind word to say about anyone."
He was tall and handsome, with an optimism and a love of family and friends that made him irresistible. He is especially remembered by his many devoted younger cousins as being both gentle and daring, playful and kind, and never happier than with "a snowball in each hand".
He will be forever missed, and never forgotten.

Louise N. Bernard
Louise N. Bernard, 85, a lifetime resident of Highland Park, after her initial years in Winnetka, died Dec. 19, 2005.
Mrs. Bernard was born April 10, 1920 in Chicago.
She attended Stonleigh College and was a supporter and graduate of North Shore Country Day School.
During World War II, she was a nurse's aid at Cook County Hospital.
Mrs. Bernard was a professional artist with a national reputation and a large following. She was a member and exhibitor of the Art Institute.
She loved classical music and was a major contributor to Ravinia Festival.
She was a loyal friend to many, most of all, she was known for her delightful humor and compassion,
She is survived by her husband James; two daughters, Kathy (Ron) Emanuel and Margaret Halverson (John McComas); four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Jan. 4 at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, Highland Park. Interment was private. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601.
Stanley Kramer
Stanley Kramer, husband of Norma; father of Debby and Jody (Hearn); grandfather of Brian and Kevin, formerly of Highland Park, died Dec. 21, 2005 after a courageous battle with kidney disease.
Come celebrate his life at a gathering at 12:30 Dec. 30 at the home of his daughter: 12760 Rock Creek Circle, Huntley, Illinois.

Peggy L. Margeson
Peggy L. Margeson (nee Lawler), 80, of Highland Park, died Dec. 20, 2005.
She was the wife of Kenneth Margeson; mother of Donna (Michael) Hartenstine and the late Mitchell (Candice) Beaudin and Gregory Beaudin; stepmother of Kevin (Jaye) Margeson; Michael (Joan) Margeson; Susan (Philip) Kline, Julie (Ray) Moore; grandmother of 13, and great grandmother of 5; sister of Bill (Yones) Lawler, Sheila (Harry) Brown, the late John (Millie) Lawler and Margery Eldridge; dear aunt and friend to many.
Memorial services were held Dec. 26 at Bethany United Methodist Church, Highland Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society appreciated. Arrangements were under the direction of Neptune Society.
Mildred M. Klatte
Mildred M. Klatte, 100, of Kenilworth died Nov. 28, 2005 in her home.
Mrs. Klatte was born Dec. 23, 1904 in Millvale, Pa. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Church of the Holy Comforter, where she had taught Sunday School for more than 50 years and was active in the Altar Guild.
She was also a secretary of St. Mark's Guild and received the North Shore Senior Center's Senior of the Year Award.
Survivors include 2 sons, Kal (Carroll) of Malibu, Calif. and Bill of Kenilworth; a daughter, Julia Buckun of Highland Park; 6 grandchildren, Christy (Chuck) Coughlin of Wilmette, Tony (Michelle) Buckun of McHenry, Rachael (Michael) Moloney of Portland, Ore., Matt Buckun of Evanston, Dana (Duane) Caveney of Foot Hill Ranch, Calif. and Scott (Denise) Klatte of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and 10 great-grandchildren, Garrett and Trenton Klatte, Tyler, Trayton and Mason Buckun, Cameron and Cassidy Coughlin, Olivia and Rory Moloney, and Alyssa Caveney.
Her husband was the late Herman K.
Services were held on Dec. 2 at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Kenilworth.
Interment was private.

William A. Douglass
William Angus Douglass, who was born on May 30, 1929 in Lake Forest and who was the son of the late Kingman Douglass and Helen James Douglass, died on Sept. 19, 2005 at his part-time residence in New Canaan, Conn. after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer.
With him at the time of death were his wife, Stephanie; his daughters, Tory and Fiona, and his son, Doug.
Mr. Douglass, a publishing company executive, was 76 years old.
He was a graduate of St. Mark's School in Southborough, Mass., and Yale University, Class of 1951. After his college graduation, Mr. Douglass served for 20 years as president of Careers, Inc., a publishing company that he and several classmates founded during their senior year at Yale. In 1971, he resigned from Careers, moved to England and established his own firm, Douglass Consultants, Inc., which he managed up to the time of his death,
In recent years, Mr. Douglass and his wife maintained primary residences in London and Tumbridge Wells, United Kingdom, as well as homes in New Canaan and Venice, Fla.
Surviving, besides his wife, are his daughters, Victoria Douglass Kingdon of London and Fiona Elizabeth Douglass of Edinburgh, Scotland; his son, William A. Douglass, III of Brooklyn, NY; his brother, James Douglass, and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Douglass was predeceased by a brother, Kingman Douglass, Jr.
A memorial service for Mr. Douglass was held Oct. 11 at the First Presbyterian Church, New Canaan, Conn.
