Eliot E. Horrigan
Age 16, of Lockport, Saturday, December 29, 2001. He was born in Chicago and was a lifelong Joliet/Lockport area resident. He was employed by the Public Landing Restaurant and the Lockport Public Library. Eliot attended Lockport East High School.
He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick D. Horrigan; and uncle, John Hollister; and a step grandfather, Donald Dvorak Sr.
Survivors include his mother and step father, Betsy Horrigan Dvorak (nee Hollister) and Donald Dvorak; five siblings, Amanda, Nina, Benjamin, Ellen and Zoe; maternal grandfather, John Hollister; Maternal grandmother, Joan (Gordie) Gillespie; paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Horrigan; and step grandmother, Mildred Dvorak. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends also survive.
Please omit flowers.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at 3:00 PM at Homer Congregational Church, 14832 W. 163rd St., Lockport with Rev. Bruce Hollister officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Helga Lina Klapp (nee Muller)
Age 55 years, a 23 year resident of Joliet, ascended peacefully at home in Joliet Friday, December 28, 2001. born January 16, 1946 in West Germany. Mrs. Klapp was a Sterile Processing Technician at Silver Cross Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Max Klapp; a son, Rob (Heidi) of Joliet; and two grandchildren, Nicole and Max.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2002 at 10 AM in the Living Faith Church, 1500 Cedar Wood Dr., Crest Hill, IL with Larry Crawford, Sr. officiating.

Joseph G. Martin
Age 79. Suddenly Wednesday, December 26, 2001 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.. born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. A United States Navy veteran serving during World War II and the Korean War. Retired from Supreme Radiator and Body Company. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years, Theresa (nee Jankovich) Martin of Crest Hill; a daughter, Andrea (Ken) Isiminger of Madrid, Spain; two grandsons, Jess and Aaron; a sister, Betty Wolff of Naples, FL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Kolman and Mary Martin; a sister, Helen Grewenig; and a brother, Andrew Martin.
Funeral Services for Joseph G. Martin will be Thursday, January 3, 2002 at 9:15 AM from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Victoria J. Pavlik
Age 90. at Sunny Hill Skilled Rehabilitation Center, Friday, December 29, 2001.
Survived by her daughter Carol Pavlik of Joliet; Two sisters Helen (Edward) Vercelli of Joliet and Florence Cullen of Lockport. Also several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Stephan Pavlik (1998), and her parents Felix and Anna Biernat.
Member of First Church of God, retired from Sears Department Store after 28 years as a clerk.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd. Wednesday, January 2 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Carl T. Wagner officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.

Col. Edward Pollack (Ret.)
Age 82 of Wilmington, IL passed away Monday, December 31, 2001 at the Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. Edward was born March 13, 1919 in Braidwood, IL, the son of the late Martin and Josephine (nee Vratanina) Pollack.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, LaVonne (nee Kirchner) of Wilmington, IL; his son, Martin (September) Pollack of Wilmington; a brother, William (Marion) Pollack of Wilmington; two nephews and a niece. An infant brother, Albert preceded Edward in death.
Edward had been employed by Douglas Aircraft, the U. S. Navy in Procurement, APSA, and the Joliet Arsenal. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired as a Colonel in the Reserves. Edward served as a Board Member of the Wilmington Fire Protection District for 26 years and was currently serving as Secretary. Edward was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington where he served as Deacon and Elder. He was also a member of the Wilmington Historical Society, the Stone City V.F.W. Post #2199 and member and Treasurer of the Kankakee Ostomy Association.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, from 4-8 PM at the Wilmington First Presbyterian Church. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 4, at 10 AM at the church with Reverend Mark Strothman officiating the Service. Interment will be at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Memorials in his name to the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington would be appreciated. R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd, Braidwood is in charge of arrangements.

Anna Spiezio
(nee Giampaolo)
Age 100 years. Passed away on Monday, December 31, 2001 at Villa Franciscan. She was born in Italy, residing in Joliet for many years.
Preceded in death by her husband, Pasquale "Mike" Spiezio (1961); her parents, Salvatore and Crucifissa Giampaolo; two step sons, Edward (1990) and Robert Spiezio (1993); and three brothers, Harold, Elmer and Anthony Giampaolo.
Survived by a step daughter-in-law, Ann L. (late Edward) Spiezio; a step son, Anthony (late Pauline) Spiezio. Numerous step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services from the Westwood Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 3, 2002 at 10:15 AM to the Church of St. Anthony for a Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation on Thursday morning from 9:00 until 10:15 AM

Saturday, December 29, 2001 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. born in Coudersport, PA and a long time Joliet resident. Retired from Uniroyal Company after many years of service. A member of the Cathedral Seniors Club, St. Joseph Senior Spirit Club and the Joliet Senior Citizens Association. Lucille loved God, her church, her husband and family, baseball and the Chicago Cubs.
Preceded in death by her parents, George and Bridget Spinsky; three sisters, Mary Spinsky, Jean Buffo and Helen Carlson; and a brother, Joseph Spinsky.
Survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Arthur R. Staab of Joliet; two sons, Robert (Laura) Staab of Joliet and Thomas (Janice) Staab of Shorewood; five grandchildren, Matthew and Katie Staab, Corie and Brad Staab and Kendall (Jason) Stipp; a brother, Thomas Spinsky of South Bend, IN. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

James L. Walker Sr.
Age 72. Suddenly Saturday, December 29, 2001 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. born in Breese, IL and a resident of Joliet the past 61 years. Attended St. John Grade School and Joliet Catholic High. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Formerly employed by Rainbow Baking Co., Joliet Township High School District #204 and Woodruff Golf Course, Joliet. Member of St. John Catholic Church, Teamsters Union Local #179, Cantigny Post VFW #367, Harwood Post American Legion Post #5 and the Old Timers Baseball Association. An avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.
Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Elvida (nee Rende) Walker of Joliet. Six children, James L. (Dinah) Walker, Jr. of Maineville, OH, Ann Marie (Randall) Fleck of Plainfield, David (Jan) Walker of Braceville, Russell (Michele) Walker of Cortland, IL, Mark (Kelly) Walker of Joliet and Ronald (Teresa) Walker of Gold Canyon, AZ. 15 grandchildren, Kristyn, Matthew, Allison, Nichole, Jenna, Ian, Graham, Aislinn, Rachael, Adam, Rebekah, Kohl, Natalie, Shannon and Micah. His brother, John "Tom" (Ann) Walker of Arlington, TX. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Rollin and Catherine (nee Kreiter) Walker. Two sisters, his twin, Jane Miesner and Ruth Dorsey. Two brothers, Rollin Jr. and Robert Walker.

Hugh C. Wallace
Age 61, of Homer Glen, December 30, 2001 at his residence following a long battle with cancer. born May 25, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA, residing in the Lemont/Lockport area for the past 40 years. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Employed by Ceco Steel, Lemont, retiring in 1990 as Superintendent of the Rolling Mill after 25 years of service. Owned and operated Bar H Stables, Lemont, donating much of his time to the "Friends of Handicapped Riders".
Survived by his wife, Joyce; three daughters, Chris (Ken) Hassel of Palos Park, IL, Karen (Rick) Hemza of St. Anne, IL and Kim Adelmann of Aurora, IL; two sons, Jeff (Paula) Wallace of Lockport, IL and Ross Price of Joliet, IL; eight grandchildren; and his mother, Sevilla Wallace of Bolingbrook.
Preceded in death by his father, Hugh "Charlie" Wallace.

76, late of Lockport, died Sunday, December 29, 2002 at Silver Cross Hospital. born in Joliet, Illinois, living in Lockport for 37 years. Employed by Amoco Oil Co. for 33 years. Retiring in 1985.
Member and Past President Lockport Lions Club; member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lockport; life member Lockport VFW Post #5788; WWII US Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Catharine (nee Nugent) Aschenbrenner; a brother Michael Aschenbrenner. Survived by his loving wife Hazel (nee Cagwin); two sons, Brian (Mary) Aschenbrenner of Lemont, Joseph Aschenbrenner of Chicago; two daughters, Karen (Mike) Settle of Lockport, Kathe (William) Pate of Chicago; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Matthew Aschenbrenner, Emily and Catie Rose Pate; a brother, Robert (Marge) Aschenbrenner; a sister, Rosella (Leo) Shiner; a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Aschenbrenner; several nieces and nephews, and dear friends, Dale "Olie" Olson and Jim Maciejewski also survive.
