Charlena Walker
Born April 11, 1930 in Itta Bena, MS to the late Charles and Alice Griggs. She went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2003 at Edward Hospital, Naperville.
Charlena attended LeFlore County High School in Itta Bena, MS. She was employed at Richman Brothers Clothing Store as a seamstress where she retired.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cephus Walker (1985), her parents, one sister Maggie (Clarence) Barrett, one brother Charles Griggs Jr., two sons, Gazzaro Walker and Rocko Walker.
Charlena leaves to cherish her memories; two sons, Darwin (Karen) Walker of Joliet, IL and Brodrin Walker of Elmhurst, IL; one sister, Pearl L. Griggs of San Francisco, CA and two daughters-in-law, Eva Walker, Long Beach, CA and Vanessa Walker of South Holland, IL and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2004 from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday, January 4, 2004 5 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 402 Singleton Pl., Joliet, IL. Service at 6 p.m. Interment Monday, January 5, 2004 10 a.m. at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.

Joyce C. Wolz
Joyce Colleen (Stanford) Wolz, 72, of Port Charlotte, Florida, and formerly of Rockdale, Illinois passed away on December 31st, at home in Port Charlotte, Florida, where she was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born on December 8, 1931, in Tonica, Illinois. She was the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Washington) Stanford. Joyce loved to garden, golf and bake. She was a member of Altar and Rosary Society of St. Joseph's Church in Rockdale and a member of women of the Moose.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Eugene Wolz; her children, MaryAlice Mowry of Minnesota, Robert Dean Mowry of Sarasota, Natalie Lynn (Krumlinde) of Illinois, Nancy Ann (John Beres) of Connecticut, and Douglas Eugene of Port Charlotte; five grandchildren, Sasha (James) Wells, Zakary and Robert Krumlinde, John and Sarah Beres; and two great-grandchildren, Myah and Luke Wells. Also survived by her sister, Bernice (Joseph) Ridulph; her nieces Cindy (Mattocks) and Cheri (Miller); her dear sister-in-law, Delores (Babe) Lavazza; niece, Patricia (Pat) Krueger; nephew, Robert Coan; as well as many other friends and family.
Her loving parents, Raymond and Mary preceded her in death.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, January 5, 2004 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Port Charlotte. The National Cremation Society, Port Charlotte branch is serving the family.

Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rita M. (nee Hasse), his children Thomas M. (Christine) Blackburn, Patricia Blackburn, Robert "Blackie" (Catherine) Blackburn, Lawrence (Victoria) Blackburn, Mary (William) Bernhard, Nancy Blackburn, Jean (Mark) Ksiazak and Timothy (Kathleen) Blackburn, seventeen grandchildren Jason, Gabe, Jill, Doug, Jeff, David, Maggie, Sarah, Ryan Blackburn, Jayne, Steve, Karen, Kevin, Dana Bernhard, Mike, Tom, Brian Ksiazak and one great grandson Dante Davila, a sister Florence (Richard) McHugh and a brother Joseph (Patricia) Blackburn. Also numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Vicky and Michelle.

Age 79, of Manhattan died suddenly Thursday, January 1, 2004 while visiting with her family in Parsons, Tennessee. She was born in 1924 at Henderson, Texas to Andrew and Gussy Johnson. She was a long time resident of Manhattan where she worked as a beautician at her home for many years and retired from Mobile Foam after 25 years of service.Survived by a daughter, Alice (Charles) Houston of Parsons Tennessee; two sons, Van (Judy) DeLay of Weatherford, Texas and Michael (Linda) DeLay of Arlington, Texas; three granddaughters; five grandsons; two great grandchildren; a sister, Hazel (Gerald) Laney; and two brothers, Roy (Peggy) Johnson and Troy (Helen) Johnson all of Arlington, Texas.
Preceded in death by her husband, Laban DeLay.

Francis Harold Dermott
Francis Harold Dermott, age 95, of Middleton, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday evening, January 1, 2004, following a brief illness.
He enjoyed his life up to the end through staying current with world events, visiting with family and friends, and playing euchre. He was born on September 10, 1908, in Custer Township, Illinois, the son of John and Martha (Day) Dermott.
He married Rose Marie (Kopriva) on February 3, 1934, and they lived in Illinois until moving to Wisconsin in 1955. Francis and Rose dairy farmed until Rose's death in 1989.
He is survived by his children, Shirley Banbury of West Dundee, Illinois, Doris McCarroll (AJ Granger) of McHenry, Illinois, and Richard (Jan) Dermott of Middleton. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Michael Dupre, Michelle Dupre, Melissa McCarroll (Roy St. Vincent) and Jeni (Mark) Urfer; four great-grandchildren, Cassandra Dupre and Lucien, Enzo and Ruby St. Vincent; and a sister, Ruby Bauer of Bonfield, Illinois. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant son, Michael; two brothers, Edward and Clarence Dermott; and two sons-in-law, Stephen Dupre and Gale Banbury.
Inurnment and a private family service will be held on a later date in Illinois.

Preceded in death by her husband, Albin Niesluchowski; parents, Bruno and Camelia (nee Coda) Franco.
Survived by her children, Rose (William) Hombaker of Shorewood, Walter (Rita) Niesluchowski, Cecelia (Melvin) Drebenstedt, Ruby (Jim) Downie and Edward (Gina) Niesluchowski; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Caroline, Beatrice and Ann; one brother, Vincent. Survived by her loving husband, Donald; three daughters, Sally (Henry) Smith, Donna (Rev. David) Beguin, Diane Horschler; one son, Philip Don (Marisol) Horschler; six grandchildren, Erica (Ed) Deegan, Tucker Smith, Brittany Beguin, Ryan (Lori) Beguin, Sean Beguin, and Allison Horschler; one great-grandchild, Clare Collins Deegan; also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born June 24, 1918 in Lockport and was a lifelong resident. Preceded in death by her parents, Carl A. and Ella (Gustafson) Johnson; brother, Kenneth Johnson. Member Faith Bible Church, where she taught first grade Sunday School for fifty years. She helped to establish the Phelan Acres Bible Church in Wilmington and served on the Gideons International Bible Auxiliary for fifty years. She was a retired executive secretary for the Lockport Township High School District and the Valley View School District Superintendent's Office in Romeoville.
Family will receive friends at the Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton St., Sunday, 3-8 p.m. Services will be Monday, January 5, 2004 at the Faith Bible Church of Joliet at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Survived by five sons Dr. Keith Johnson of New York, Dr. Kent Johnson of Australia, Dr. Carl Johnson of Wisconsin, Dr. Theodore Johnson of Vermont and Glen (Deborah) Johnson of Joliet, a daughter Dr. Ellen (Dr. Tim) Caspar-Johnson of Delaware, ten grandchildren Orin, Emily, Michael, Benjamin, Colin, Wylie, Christopher and Daniel Johnson, Rebecca and Hannah Caspar-Johnson, sisters-in-law Elizabeth Peterson of Morris and Betty Neiswender of Joliet, a brother-in-law Richard Johnson of Moline. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Johnson (2002), a granddaughter Joanna Caspar-Johnson, her parents Nels and Elin Peterson, two sisters Althea Ott and Esther Peterson, one brother Carl Peterson.
Born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident. Educated in the Joliet Public Schools, grad of Joliet Twp. High School, Joliet Jr. College and the University of Chicago. Taught in the Joliet Public Grade Schools and the Oak Valley-Laraway School system. Former member of St. John Lutheran Church and presently a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Also member of Delta Kappa Gamma and other educational groups, the Whatsoever Girls Circle of Kings Daughters, Advisory Board of Silver Cross Hospital and past member of Joliet Women's Club. She was very active with the Joliet Grade School and High School Band Parents Assn.
