Linda L. Brown
Age 59, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Her husband, Layton Brown, and her parents Harold and Edyth Rinker preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children Scott (Carmen) Brown and Dennis Brown, and her sister Judy Balmor.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday January 7, 2004 at Westwood Memorial Chapel, 3201 W. Jefferson St., at 7:00pm. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00pm until time of funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Christian Youth Center. For additional information:

Survived by a son John (Donna) Davies of Elwood and a daughter Judith (James-deceased) Dunn of Plainfield, nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, a sister Margaret Ashbaugh. Also several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Howard, one grandson, one great-grandson and her parents John and Bessie Wanus.
Private funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday, January 7, with interment in Elmhurst Cemetery. No visitation.

Jorge L. Garnica Sr.
Age 52, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2004 at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. He was born July 4, 1951 in Bellas Fuentes, Michoacan, Mexico, and was a resident of Joliet over the past 30 years.
Jorge is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Survived by his loving wife Teresa (nee Tellez) and four children Jorge L. Jr. (Jessica) of Pennsylvania, Norberto, Nancy and Santiago Garnica. Two grandchildren Jorge III and Alexis N. Garnica, all of Joliet, IL. Also survived by numerous loving family and friends.

Dr. Ludella B. Hawkins
Age 86 of Joliet, IL died on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at Silver Cross Hospital. She was a District 86 school teacher for over 30 years. After retiring she continued work in her Community. She successfully wrote a program to obtain a grant that was used to improve street lights and signs on Patterson Road. She was co-owner and operator of the Community Cab Company, Inc. of Joliet, IL for 27 years.
Dr. Hawkins was very dedicated to God's work. She was the Founder and Pastor of Emmanuel Temple Church for over 23 years. She was an adult Educational School principal for four years. She served as Dean to: Assembly Faith of Chicago, IL, Assembly of Apostolic Faith Church, Chicago, IL, and Dean of Academy at Emmanuel Temple Church, Joliet, IL.
She held a Master's degree in Business Admin., Christian Education and M.A. in Education. She also held a Ph.D. in Theology.
She is survived by her loving and devoted brother, Clarence (Rosia) Westbrooks Sr., and aunt to many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John Fordson Hawkins Sr., her parents: Mariah and William, brothers: Oliver, Curtis, John, Raymond, and loving sisters: Oda Mae Bailey, Ida Bell Bennett and Besida Scott.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. at All Nations C.O.G.I.C., 503 Bishop Robert R. Sanders Dr., Joliet, IL. Service at 8:00 p.m. Elder Gregory Moore officiating. Interment Thursday, January 8, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Age 76 years. Plainfield resident for the past 12 years. Last Rites were given to Mildred Saturday, January 3, by Rev. Tony Nugent and she passed away peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Rosewood Care Center, Joliet. She was born March 31, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois.

Was born June 12, 1916. Lifelong basketball player. Member of 1934 National Basketball Champions Joliet Catholic High School. Voted Mr. Basketball by K.S.K.J. after playing until age 65. Member of Senior Citizen's Association, St. Joseph's Holy Name Society and K.S.K.J. St. Genevieve's Lodge #29. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna nee Worden (1985), his companion of 17 years Lorraine Rothlisberger (2003), three sons: twins Patrick and Ronald (1946), and Ed Jr. (2000), brother Raymond Matesevac and sister Eleanor Meagher.

Survived by her two loving daughters, Mary Willyne (Donald) Jakielski and Anita Futterer; dearest grandmother of Donald Mark, Caryn and Leisa Jakielski and Candi Futterer; two sisters, Ursula (John, deceased) Martin and Genevieve (Robert, deceased) Scheuber; sister-in-law, Dolores White. Of Romeoville, passed away at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Sunday, January 4, 2004. Age 83 years.
Survived by his wife Evelyn E. Paulson (Nee Bruce), a daughter Linda Davis of Joliet, son Michael (Beverlee) Dallmann of Lemont, his sister Lorene Pecoraro of Shorewood and his brother Norman (Betty) Paulson of Libertyville, IL. Eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, a son Allan Paulson (Jan. 9, 2000), and a granddaughter Rozalyn.

Age 87. Passed away peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2004 at home. born in Joliet and a resident of Plainfield the past 14 years. Member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield.
Survived by her loving daughter, Sandra (Leonard) Ardaugh of Plainfield; devoted grandmother of several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; Janice Horkey of Plainfield; one sister, Mary (late George) Perinar of Joliet; two brothers, Tony (Mary) Kayfish and Rudolph Kayfish both of Joliet; her dear sister-in-law, Marion Kayfish of New Jersey.
