George Sparagis
Age 50. died Saturday, January 3, 2004 at his home in Channahon. born March 2, 1953 in Dyrahion, Arkadias, Greece to the late Konstantinos and Stavroula (nee Thanos) Sparagis; he emigrated to the United States in 1977. George, along with his brothers, have owned and operated the Lone Star Restaurant in Channahon for 27 years. A member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and the order of Ahepa. George was hard working and a devoted family man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Eleni; beloved father of Konstantinos "Dean" and Demetri; dear brother of Elias (wife Polyxeni), Basiliki (husband Elias) both of Athens, Greece, Theodore "Ted" (wife Georgia) and Themis (wife Eleni) both of Channahon; fond uncle of Konstantinos, Stavroula and Nicholas all of Chicago; Konstantinos and Stavroula of Channahon; as well as several nieces and nephews in Greece. Many dear friends, including Sophia and Tryfon Delligiannis also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Pandelis and two sisters, Christina and Anna.

Ricky E. Winters
Age 44, of Wilmington passed away suddenly Monday, January 5, 2004 at his residence. born October 23, 1959 in Granite City, MO, he was a son of Donnie and Donna Winters.
Survivors include his parents, Donnie (Mary) Winters of Nebraska and Donna (William) Smid of Wilmington; a sister, Linda Tulley of Wilmington; a step sister, Patty (Ben) Green of Plainfield; three step brothers, Ryan Smid of Joliet, Joey (Vickie) Smid of Des Moines, IA and Greg Smid of Wilmington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ricky is preceded in death by a step brother, Richard Smid; and his grandparents.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 from 12 Noon until time of funeral service at 2 PM at Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington with Rev. Shirley McClain officiating. Private family interment will follow.

Age 78. Passed away Thursday, January 1, 2004 in Crescent City, FL. born in Detroit, MI, a long time Joliet area resident; retiring to Crescent City, FL. A United States WWII Veteran with the 1st Marine Division, 5th Regiment. He was employed with Daily Express for 25 years, retiring after 45 years in the trucking industry. Life member and past Commander of the Will County American Legion and Harwood Post #5; life member of the DAV, life member of the VFW Stone City Chapter, past President and Man of the Year Associated Clubs of Will County, past President of the Will County Traffic Association.
Survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Eleanore; son, John (Debi); daughter, Bonnie Demorotski (Don Blascak); sister, Evelyn Stegath; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Franklyn Bronson and Ida Elizabeth (nee Westerman) Batchelor; one sister, Muriel "Mitz".

William J. Jaeger Jr.Kathleen A. Jaeger, age 81, passed away Monday, January 5, 2004 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Her husband, William J. Jaeger Jr., age 80, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at Deerbrook Care Centre.
Mrs. Jaeger was born November 24, 1922 in Morris and a lifelong area resident. Member of Phi Tau Omega Sorority for over 60 years. She was a volunteer at St. Patrick's Retirement Home and Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Life member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus. Former member of the CCW. She loved to play bridge and golf. Loving caregiver to her husband for the last five years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Zita (nee McDonald) Cusick; daughter, Susan; brothers, William, Donald and Jimmy; sister-in-law, Shirley (Waesco) Cusick.
Mr. Jaeger was born April 5, 1923 in Kankakee and was a lifelong area resident. A United States WWII Veteran. Retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1981 after over 30 years of service. Member of BPOE Lodge #296 (Joliet Elks) for many years. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan; parents, William J. Sr. and Blanche (nee Bastien) Jaeger.
Kay and Bill are survived by five children, William, Rev. Robert, Sandy (Tom) Moretti, Mike (Anne) and Pat (Joan) Jaeger; their grandchildren, Tommy Moretti; Megan, Brian, Michael and Alex Jaeger; Mrs. Jaeger's brothers and sisters, Mildred Thomas of Rockledge, FL, Mary Rietzel of Orlando, FL, Joseph (Sally) Cusick of Orlando, Barbara (Leonard) Fracaro of Lockport and John (Mary) Cusick of Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Jaeger is survived by his brother, James (Phyllis) Jaeger of Green Garden Township. Both are also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Arianna "Nana" Nichole Johnson
23 months old daughter of Leon and Darcy Johnson of Custer Park, Monday, January 5, 2004 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn as the result of an automobile accident.

Preceded in death by her husband Herman, her parents Jacob and Susan (Freiders) Johannessen, brothers George, Michael, Arthur and Howard Johannessen, sisters Lena Cook, Agnes Benjamin, Lucille O'Malley, Florence Lannen Schramer, and Claire Tierney.
Survived by her children Richard (Joyce) of Lockport and Sue (Larry) Grant of Joliet, eight grandchildren, Rick (Denise) Ramos, Beverly (Charles) Prodehl, Barbara (David) Stengele, Janet (Michael) Lyons, Diane (John) Meyer, Lynn (James) Stadler, Leslie (Bryan) Bonifas and Mark (Mary) Grant and 22 great-grandchildren. Susie Ella Robinson
96, passed away on January 4, 2004 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, IL. She was born March 18, 1907 to George and Sarah Whiteside in Iuka, MS.
She confessed Christ at the age of 12, and later became a member of The Greater Bible Way Apostolic Church and cooked and served there until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, her husband, Frank Robinson; her son, Jimmy Lee Moody; and one niece.
She is survived by three sisters, Mamie (Alonzo, deceased) Stokes; Eveora (Tom, deceased) Sullivan; and Flora (Martin, deceased) Wallace; and a total of 117 nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Service at 12 noon with Bishop Samuel Allen officiating. Interment following service at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
