Survived by parents, Thomas & Patricia of Crest Hill. Beloved brother of Tom (Donna) of Mazon, Steve (Amanda) of Crest Hill. Grandmother, Agnes Workman of Texas. Nephew, Wesley Workman. Niece Brook Workman. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many good friends and devoted dog Lucy.
Preceded by grandfather Robert Workman.

Late of Symerton, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet, IL. Age 64 years. born in Vandalia, IL on August 19, 1936 to the late Richard and Dorothy Hampton Alsbury.
Member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Wilmington. Former owner of Symerton Tap "Bird Cage"; Insurance agent for Modern Woodman; IL Retail Liquor Association; Marine Corps veteran; Wilmington Moose Lodge and he was an avid Computer enthusiast.
Survived by his loving wife, Janet (Beutel) of Symerton; three sons, Richard (Lisa) of Shorewood, IL, Robert of Phoenix, AZ, and Ronald (Leslie) of Rockdale; one daughter, Geri (Bill) Quigley of Symerton, IL; one brother, Michael (Cheryl) of Texas; one brother-in-law, Larry Rine (Linda deceased) of IN; nine sisters, Pat of Greenville, IL, Nancy (Ken) Greer of Vandalia, IL, Barbara (Ron) Denton of Decatur, IL, Phyllis of St. Elmo, IL, LeNette (Dave) Belt of IN, June (Larry) Jones of Vandalia, IL, Paula (Bill) McNeely of Effingham, IL, Karen (George)) Calfas of Decatur and Vicki (Dave) Stewart of Effingham, IL; 14 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Survived by four daughters, Wanda Abney, Jeannie (Bill) Piper, Joyce (Bob) Blackford, Katie Carroll; six sons, Joseph (Ann) Carroll, Roy (Donna) Carroll, William (Sandy) Carroll, Bob (Judy) Carroll, Jack (Lenore) Carroll, John (Pat) Carroll, Jr.; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mary Jane (Wilson) Stamper and Kathleen Ehrmantrout; and a brother, Jack Meadows.
Born in Jelico, TN, living in the Joliet area most of her life.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret (Hammons) Meadows; her husband, John C. Carroll; and an infant daughter, Jewel Dean Carroll.

Age 67, suddenly Wednesday, January 10, 2001, Silver Cross Hospital. Late of New Lenox.
Survived by his loving wife, Stella L. (Hudgens) Drabek; a daughter, Debbie Fisher; a granddaughter, Wendy Krumreich; a step-daughter, Glenda J. Kleeman; three brothers, James (Ceceila) Drabek, John Denny and Dennis Denny; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Chicago, living in New Lenox the past 44 years.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne Johnston (1986); and his parents, James and Magdalene (Buza) Drabek.
Employed as a butcher by National Tea for 27 years and as a custodian for New Lenox School District 12 for 15 years.

Late of Wilmington, passed away in Joliet, IL. Age 93 years. born June 20, 1907 in Chicago to the late Edward (Clara nee Hale) Eckert.
Mrs. Eccles is survived by her loving daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Shannon of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Thomas (Susan) Patricia, Cathleen and James (Tara) Shannon; three great grandchildren, Kyle and James Shannon and Rachel Burd; and one sister, Frances Pohlman of Manteno.

Born in Lemont, living in Lockport the past 48 years.
An electrician for Unical for 38 years. WW II Navy Veteran, he was a member of Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church and the Lockport VFW.
Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elsie M. (Wagner) Fredendall; a son, John F. (Renee) Fredendall, Jr.; a daughter, Nancy L. Johnson; two grandchildren: John E. Fredendall III, and Heath Allen Fredendall; and a sister, Violet Fredendall.
Preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters and his parents, John F. and Harriett (Longhelt) Fredendall.
Family will receive friends in the chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, Saturday, January 13, from noon until the time of services at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. David Wilder officiating. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years Marie A. (Partak) Gawenda; four sons, Henry (Sandy), Jerry (Pat), David (Sharon), Joseph (Barbara) Gawenda; one daughter Judy Mrs. Scott Cronk; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother John (Evelyn) Gawenda; and two sisters Marion Markgraf and Helen McKay.
Born in Joliet living in the area all of his life.
Preceded in death by his parents Anthony & Josephine (Redlak) Gawenda; a grandson, Robert Gawenda (1995) and three brothers, Chester, Charles and Walter Gawenda.
World War II Army veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre; a sheet metal worker for Local 265 for over 50 years; he was a member of St. Bernard's Church where he served as an usher for 50 years; Charter member of the Eastside Athletic Club, Ingalls Park Athletic Club, Belmont Athletic Club and coached little league for over 20 years.
Private visitation for close family and friends will be at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Cedar at Francis Roads, Friday 9:00 AM until time of services 10:15 AM to St. Bernard's Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM. Interment St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery. Memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
