Age 74. Passed away suddenly Sunday, January 21, 2001 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Born in Joliet on March 23, 1926 and a lifetime resident. A United States Air Force Veteran serving during World War II. Graduate with honors of the University of Illinois in Chemical Engineering in 1950. He worked at Olin Mathison from February 1, 1950 until his retirement in December 1987. Active Board Member of the Joliet Port Authority from 1979-1994. Member of the Joliet Elks Lodge #296. Active volunteer at the Shepherds Table.
Dedicated and loving father of Jayne (Edward) Miller of Mequon, WI, Nancy (Stephen) Thorington of Houston, TX and Sally (Mauricio) Hernandez of Buenos Aires, Argentina; kind and gentle grandfather of Jamie, Sara and Joni Miller, Andrew Thorington, Natalie, Vanessa and Michael Hernandez. Several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his dear Aunt, Vern Bobak also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane (nee Tezak) (1998); two sisters, Helen Ciancanelli and Delores Krause; one brother, Joseph Sternal.
Dad, grandpa, we will miss you; we've never known a man that has lived and fulfilled the prayer of St. Francis as you did.

Florence A. Titus
Age 84, of Plainfield, IL died Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at Lakewood Nursing Center in Plainfield. She was born December 6, 1916 in Lockport, IL.
She is survived by her sisters: Marion (the late John) Williams of Naperville, IL; Bernice Titus of Cary, NC; Marge (Duane) Dibble of Dwight, IL; Marcella (Joseph) Jacksa of Joliet, IL; Marilyn (Kenneth) McMillin of Morris, IL, and brother: Melvin Titus of Las Vegas, NV. Special nephew: James (Marie) Madison of Plainfield, IL and numerous nieces & nephews & great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents Esner & Ruth (nee Paddock) Titus, sister Edna Madison and three brothers: Leonard, Esner, Jr., and Ralph Titus.
Was a longtime member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church and longtime resident of Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 335 W. Jefferson St. Joliet, IL 60435 would be appreciated.

Antoinette B. Vanisko "Ann" (nee Dolinsek)
Age 84. Passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2001 in Kalamazoo, MI. born in Dupue, IL, January 10, 1917. A lifetime Joliet area resident. Employed by the Joliet Arsenal (APSA) retiring in 1975. A lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Rosarian Club.
Preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Vanisko (1972); parents, Leopold and Theresa Dolinsek; one sister, Mary Doll; and one brother, Leo (Margaret) Dolinsek.
Surviving are one son, Richard Vanisko of Elwood, IL; one daughter, Bernadine "Bernie" (Thomas) Phelps of Parchment, MI; five granddaughters; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine "Jo" (late Robert) Dalian and Frances "Fran" (late Bernard) Stahl both of Joliet. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial Mass for Antoinette B. Vanisko will be held Saturday, January 27, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Inurnment St. Joseph Cemetery. Charlotte E. Warthen (Nee Button)
Age 86, late of Lockport, died Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at Lemont Center Nursing Home. born in Joliet, life long area resident.
Member of United Methodist Church of New Lenox and former member of Trinity Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband Perry, her parents, Morgan and Elizabeth (Gould) Button, two brothers Milton and Vernon Button.
Survived by two sons James and David (Elaine) both of Lockport, one daughter Virginia (James) Holbert of Naperville, five grandchildren and three great grandsons, several nieces and nephews also survive. Paula R. (DesRochers) (Swanson) (nee Phillips) Ciardullo
Of Marseilles, IL died on Friday, January 16, 2004 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. She was born in Missouri and moved to the Joliet, Lockport and Wilmington area where she lived most of her life.
She is survived by a son, William Swanson of Crest Hill; two grandsons, Seth and Cort Swanson; her mother, Laura Ruth Phillips of New Jersey; a sister, Sharon Dowen of North Carolina; and a brother, George Phillips of Georgia. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Swanson; and her father, Courtney Phillips.
A Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements by John J. Minich, Funeral Director.
Barbara J. Guertin
Age 59. died Friday, January 23, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Moody and her son, Brian M. Guertin. Also survived by two grandsons, Brandon and Alec Moody all of Joliet. Two sisters, Mary (W.C.) Martin of Sarasota, FL, and Dorothy (James) Ruzon of Shorewood. Special friend, Kathy "Cookie" (Billy) Vidrine of Lake Charles, LA. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents John J. and Marie M. "Peggy" Nussbaum (1991). One brother John J. "Jack" Nussbaum Jr. (1971).
A lifelong resident of Joliet, she graduated from Providence High School, class of 1962. Retired from Nalco Chemical Co. in Naperville, IL in May 2003.

Age 56, of Odell, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at his home. born March 12, 1947 in Joliet, IL to the late William Frances, Sr. and Marjorie Louise (nee Michael) Hayes. Mike was a truck driver for thirty years. For the past fourteen years he worked for G & D Transportation in Morton, IL. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW Post #5422 in Wilmington, IL and the Shorewood Fire Department. He was an avid horseman and hunter. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and camping. Surviving are his wife, Linda (nee Schneider); two sons, William Robert (Sherry) Hayes of Joliet, IL and Michael C. (Deborah) Hayes of Reddick, IL; one daughter, Tammy L. (Michael) Kara of Reddick; three grandchildren, Alece Lennae Kara, Michael Anthony Kara, Jr. and Nicholas Eugene Hayes; his second mother, Helena Hayes of Wilmington, IL; two sisters, Sharon K. (Dave Miller) of Plainfield, IL and Doris (Kenneth) Lain of Custer Park, IL; two brothers, Robert V. (Shirley) Hayes of Elwood and William F. Joseph V. Letton
Age 80, of Oak Forest, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on December 19, 1923, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Baczynski-Lituvnukus. Joseph was a graduate of University of Chicago, and retired from the State of Illinois, where he worked as a counselor. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army and was a member of St. Terrance Catholic Church in Alsip.
Survivors include his children: Michael (Patricia) of Custer Park, Robert of Crete, Christina (Robert Kalchbrenner) of Orland Hills, Mark of Oak Forest and Lisa (Robert) McGinley of Matteson. Three grandchildren: Ashley McGinley, Michael Letton, Jr. and Kyle McGinley. One sister Eleanor (Donald) Johnson of Overland, Kansas and one brother Leonard Lituvnukus of Michigan, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents and wife Gloria in 1985.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2004 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service, 12 noon at Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington. Rev. Frank Vitus and Deacon Dyer will officiate. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Paul T. Martin
In Mesa, AZ on January 5, 2004. Lived in Joliet until moving to Mesa in 1987. Paul was a 50-year member of the National Sheet Metal Workers Assn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (nee Emerson) Martin; twin sons, Paul and Edward; his parents, Thomas and Myrtle (nee Hansen) Martin; brother, Edward Martin; and a sister, Marguerite Ronchetti.
He is survived by a daughter, Marsha Martin of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughter, Cherie Atkinson of St. Charles, IL; great-grandson, Chrystopher Atkinson; special niece, Kathleen (Jack) Mateski of Joliet, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul's ashes were scattered over Superstition Mountain in Mesa with his friends and family present.
Aldeene C. Morgan (nee Cooper)
Late of Joliet, passed away Friday, January 23, 2004 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. born in Coal City, Aldeene was a daughter of the late Frank and Florence McGonagle-Cooper.
Survivors include a niece, Linda (Walter) Ruland of Daphne, Alabama; and a foster daughter, Sharon (Bud) McCall of Tarpon Springs, Florida; as well as foster grandchildren; great nieces, nephews; and her cousin-in-law, Deane Hynd of Wilmington.
Aldeene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted; three brothers, Clayton, Raymond and Joseph; a sister, Ursala Monk; and her dear cousin, Rita Hynd.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 27, 2004 from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11:45 AM from Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington, proceeding to St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a 12 Noon Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Frank Vitus and Deacon Donald Dyer will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington. Preferred memorials are gifts in Aldeene's name to St. Rose School, St. Rose Church or Kuzma Care Cottage.
