Age 48. Passed away Wednesday February 4, 2004 at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Survived by his loving mother Marie Ross; three brothers Michael (Sue), Tony (Lisa) and John (Candy) Phelums; three sisters Pam (Darrell) Jefferson, Lynette (Phillip) Freeman and Denise Carr.
Preceded in death by his father James C. Phelums Sr. and one sister Gail Phelums.
Born in Chicago Heights, IL living in Park Forest and Joliet for the last two years. Employed by the Chicago Board of Trade.
Funeral Services will be held Monday February 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Interment Hills of Rest Cemetery.

Kenneth A. Sandvall
Age 86, formerly of Plainfield, IL died on February 5, 2004 in Sioux Falls, SD.
He was an electrician and a 63 year member of the Local #176 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

William E. Stimac "Bill"
Age 87. At rest Saturday, February 7, 2004 peacefully at home with his family by his side.
survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Jessie M. (nee Cobetto) Stimac. Loving father of Charles (Gayle) Michael (Deborah) and Bruce (Donna) Stimac. Dearest grandfather of 10 grandchildren. Three sisters, Agnes (Herman) Zefran, Bernadine (Late Frank) Bostjancic, Carol (Gerald) Bebar; two brothers, Raymond (Viola) and Ralph Stimac. One sister-in-law, Josephine (Late Rudolph) Stimac. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents Frank and Veronica (nee Malnar) Stimac; one sister, Marie (Joseph) Cherven; three brothers, Francis (Christine), Rudolph, Joseph (Elizabeth) Stimac.
William was born in Rutland, IL, resided in the Crest Hill and Joliet areas most of his life time. Retired (1972) as a Letter carrier for the U.S. Post office after 30 years of service. Veteran World War II U.S. Army Air Force, serving in the Asiatic, Pacific Campaign. Member of Stone City Post 2199, Croation Cultural Club. In lieu of flowers donations to Easter Seals would be appreciated. At William's request Cremation Rites were accorded. Special Thanks to Dr. Isoniemi and thanks to his caregivers, Olga and Giedrius.

Juliet M. Zakovec (Nee Sedlacek)
Age 93, of Braidwood, IL, passed away Friday, February 6, 2004 at Embassy Care Center in Wilmington, IL. Juliet was born April 21, 1910 in Chicago, IL to the late Frank and Anna (nee Sinkelar) Sedlacek. Juliet was raised and educated in Chicago. She married Emil J. Zakovec in 1946 and together they moved to Braidwook in 1947. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1965. Juliet worked at the Grinchuck Pants Factory in Braidwood for 20 years. She then was a receptionist for Braidwood optometrist, Dr. Machatka for 20 years. She was an avid sports fan and member of the Braidwood Senior Citizens. She loved her home and gardening.
Survivors include a niece, Anna Tomanek of Lombard, IL; great nephew, Joseph (Bonnie) Tomanek of Wheaton, IL; and great niece, Patricia (Ken) Majerchin of Carol Stream, IL.
Preceding her in death were seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, Monday, February 9, at 1:00 p.m. Internment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Braidwood, IL. the visitation will also be Monday, February 9, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. Memorials in her memory may be made to the Embassy Care Center in Wilmington, IL.

Gerald L. "Jerry" Bregar
Age 60. Passed away on February 9, 2004 at home with his family by his side.
Survived by his loving wife, Susan L. (nee Potter) Bregar; his children, Cheri (Dino) Canchola, Joshua Bregar, Carri Bregar and Kristen Jensen; grandfather of Noah, Naomi, Chloe Esther and Lily; his sister, Carol (Larry) Katterheinrich; and a niece, Tana Vercelotti. Preceded in death by his daughter, Brandi Marie Bregar; and his parents, Larry and Esther Bregar.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 1:30 PM at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Visitation Thursday, 10 AM until time of services. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Robert Roy Bush "Bob"
Age 61. A Joliet resident since 1969, a former resident of Plainfield from 1954-1969, died February 9, 2004 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. He was born February 21, 1942 in Bay City, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette nee Clapp of Joliet whom he married March 7, 1970; his three daughters, Tracy Bush of Wheaton, Mandy Bush of Harrisburg, PA, and Jennifer (Mark) Fleischhauer of Wheaton; his mother, Alice Bush; twin brothers, Terry Bush and Gary Bush all of Bay City, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Bush.
Bob served in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1960's. A carpenter by trade, he was most recently employed by FCA, Shorewood, as a warehouseman. He had a great love of motorcycles, cars and boating.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home, corner of Rt. 30 & 59, Plainfield. Interment will be private. For information, please call (815)436-9221.

Martin Craven Sr.
Age 68. Passed away Sunday, February 8, 2004 at Sunnyhill Nursing Home with his family at his side. born in Joliet on September 14, 1935 to the late James and Florence (nee North) Craven and was a life time area resident.
Martin is survived by a daughter, Gina (Kenneth) Lake; three grandchildren; three sisters, Emma (Edwin) Gibson, Patti Craven of Joliet and Jacqueline Senter of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two brothers, Henry (Kim) Craven of Joliet and Fred (Nancy) Craven of Chatsworth, IL; an aunt, Lois Evans. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a brother, James Craven; a grandson, Michael Lake; and a nephew, James Gibson.
He attended area schools, was employed by Johns Mansfield for 28 years and was an avid race fan. Cremation will follow visitation. Please omit flowers, donations to be used according to the families wishes.

Henrietta M. "Henny" Goreham
Age 74, of Mt. Prospect for the past 13 years, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2004. Formerly of Northbrook for almost 30 years where she lived and raised her children. She was born July 24, 1929 in Chicago.
Mrs. Goreham grew up in Braidwood, IL. Henny graduated Valedictorian of her high school class in 1947 and attended Illinois State University at Normal, IL graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics and Physical Education in three years. She taught elementary physical education for over 25 years in the Wilmette Public Schools. During retirement she traveled to Europe, South America and Asia.
Preceded in death by the late Art Goreham whom she married in 1950 and was happily married for 41 years until his death in 1991.
Survived by children, Steve (Sue) Goreham and Sandra (Mike) Rauen; grandchildren, Janet, Peter, Alex, Conor and Katy; brother, Henry (June) Pasternack; and niece, Dawn Hale.
Visitation Friday 3:00-9:00 p.m. at Friedrichs Funeral Home. Funeral services Saturday 12:00 noon at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.

Joseph Griglione
Age 88, of Mazon passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2004 in Morris, IL, after a short battle from cancer. He was born on March 27, 1915 to Dominic and Louisa (Macketta) Griglione in East Brooklyn, IL.
Joseph married Evelyn Punke on April 9, 1950 in Coal City, IL at the Assumption Church. married for 53 years, they lived all their married life in Mazon, Joseph along with his brother, Emil and sister, Margaret operated Griglione Grocery in Coal City for 56 years. He was a member of The Assumption Church in Coal City, the Mazon Planning and Zoning Commission for 20 years, the Mazon American Legion post #352, Morris VFW John Martin Steele Post #6049. He was also a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army in which he served in the Pacific Theater on the Island of Saipan.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Mazon; his son, Mark (Janeen) Griglione of Shorewood; and two grandchildren, Joseph and Anthony Griglione both of Shorewood, IL; a sister-in-law, Elaine Griglione of Sycamore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Emil Griglione; and a sister, Margaret Marietta.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2004 from Ferrari Funeral Services at 9:30 am to the Assumption Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, Father Jim Lennon will officiate with interment in Mazon Brookside Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM at Ferrari Funeral Services in Coal City.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joseph's name to The Grundy County Hospice, MVK ambulance, or to the American Cancer Society.

Clarence H. Lasch
Clarence H. Lasch, 91, of Northport, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2004 at Leelanau Memorial Care Center in Northport. born on April 30, 1212, in Elkhorn, Wisc., he was the son of Fred and Dora (Weibel) Lasch.
Clarence obtained his seaman's license in 1932 and was later employed as a diesel engineer, dredging harbors in Manistee, Cheboygan, and Sault Ste. Marie. In 1933, he married the former Evelyn Williams on Morris, IL. He began farming in the early 1940s in Morris, and retired in 1976. Clarence was a member of the Trinity Church in Northport.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 70 years; a daughter, Lorain (Ben) Covey of Suttons Bay; a granddaughter, Susan (Ed) Reinsch of Northport; a grandson, Steven (Maureen) Covey of Channahon, IL; three great-grandchildren, Allison Reinsch, Scott and Kristin Covey; and four sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church, 103 N. Warren, Northport, on Friday, May 14, 2004 at 1 PM. The Rev. William Belko will officiate the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Pet Care at the Leelanau Memorial Care Center in Northport, Trinity Church in Northport, or the Salvation Army.
