John N. Grahovac
Age 86. At rest Sunday, February 23, 2003 at Deerbrook Care Center. Survived by two brothers, Joseph and George (late Rita) Grahovac, sister Mary A. (late Elmer) Vicich, sister in law Eva (late Andrew) Grahovac. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents, George and Catherine (nee Plesha) Grahovac, three brothers, Eli, Louis and Andrew Grahovac, sister Ann (late Michael) Strainer.
John was born in Rockdale, IL and was a life long resident. Retired from Uni Royal. John played professional baseball in the Pacific Coast League as a pitcher. Served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Force.

Survived by three daughters, Cynthia S. (Nick) Pappas, Nancy E. (Jim) Robinson and Karen L. (Thomas) Smith all of Joliet; six grandchildren, Cathleen (Mike) Carson, Charlene (Troy) Ehringer, Suzanne Robinson and Samantha Robinson, James (Sonja) Berry and Kim Berry; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Ann) Ruskin of Danville, IL; and a sister, Judith O'Connell of St. Louis, MO. Also numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Lillian (Lawrence) Whiteside of Kankakee and Louise Leady of Cicero, IL.
Preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Hargis (1988); and an infant son, Harold J. Hargis, Jr. (1956).
Born in Roxanna, IL and has lived in Joliet since 1955. Retired from Chicago Title & Trust after working for them over 35 years.
Lying in state, Wednesday, February 26 at Maple Lawn Christian Church, 805 Barthelme Ave. at Black Rd, from 9 AM until time of services at 10 AM with Pastor Dean Sloniger officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Susan M. Manley (nee Fitzpatrick)
Age 47. Passed away suddenly on Friday, February 21, 2003. Life long resident of Joliet. Susan was employed at Jewel Food Stores in the Joliet area for the past 31 years. The best scan coordinator Jewel ever had. Member of St. Bernard Catholic Church where she was a choir member.
Preceded in death by her father, Robert F. Fitzpatrick.
Survived by her loving mother, Ann T. (Donnelly) Fitzpatrick; cherished daughter Angela (Dale) Simpson; two grandchildren, Katie and Dale Simpson, two brothers, Robert (Teresa) Fitzpatrick and Thomas (Denise) Fitzpatrick, two sisters, Peggy (Larry) Kropinski and Mary (Elliott) Eisman. Age 80. died at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center on February 5, 2003. Beloved wife of the late George Paputsas (1992). Loving mother of Mary (deceased), Christine and Frank.
Owned and operated the Cut Rate Produce grocery store in Joliet. Burial in Mason, WI alongside her husband George.
Richard H. Rubright
Age 75, passed away suddenly at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center on Wednesday, February 19, 2003. Richard was a World War II veteran serving two tours, Navy Seaman Second Class and Navy Fireman Apprentice. He was a proud 46 year member of Operating Engineers Local 150.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, a son Steven, and his parents, Harold Rubright and Evelyn Hinkley.
He is survived by his daughter, Roxanne (Tim) Gear and his son Greg Rubright and his grandsons, Steven and Kevin Gear.

Age 90, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2003 at Villa Franciscan Nursing Home. born in Joliet on February 7, 1913, she was a lifelong resident. Member of the Ladies of the Moose.
Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Selinger, her son, Terrance Selinger, her parents, Joseph and Sophie (nee Rom) Meyer and a very dear friend, Henry Relgel.
Survived by a son, Richard (Irene) Selinger, four grandchildren, Michael (Gina), Laurie (John) Heidbreder, Susan (fiance Brian Kezele), and Lisa Russ, three great grandchildren, Dustin Caley, Abby Selinger and Isaac Selinger, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Andrew "Andy" Berens
Age 51. Late of Joliet. died Monday, February 24, 2003 at Provena-St. Joseph Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mildred Berens. He is survived by his brother, Edward (Loma) Berens Jr., one nephew, David (Julie) Berens, one niece, Patricia "Patty" Berens, two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
He was a graduate of Providence High School class of 1971. He was a member of St. Jude's Church and served as an usher.
