Age 67. Suddenly at his late residence on Thursday, February 13, 2003 with his family and close friends by his side. born in Clinton, TN and a long time Channahon resident. A graduate of Clinton Tennessee High School, Class of 1952. Owner of L&M Manufacturing, Pit Boss Trailers in Monmouth, IL. Member of the Illinois Road Builders Association, the Joliet Evening Lions Club, honorary life member of the Chicago Police Sergeants Association and a member of the Homewood Masonic Lodge and the Medinah Shriners Temple.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lawson and Sadie Billingsley; his father-in-law, Richard Carpenter.
Survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Beverly A. (nee Carpenter) Lawson of Channahon; one daughter, Lori (Ronald) Carrington of Cambridge, WI; two grandchildren, Ashley and Connor; three brothers, Fredrick (Patricia) Lawson of Columbus, OH, David (Marian) Billingsley of Tucson, AZ and Ronald (Debbie) Lawson of Knoxville, TN. His mother-in-law, Bernice Carpenter. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and neighbors also survive.
A Memorial Service for Thomas J. Lawson will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Pastor Bill Maeson officiating. Kathleen R. McGuckin "Bing"
Age 84, late of Lockport, Thursday, February 27, 2003 at Silver Cross Hospital. born in Joliet, living in Lockport most of her life. Was employed by Texaco Inc. for many years, retiring in 1981.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine (Greyson) McGuckin, her brothers, Joseph, John Jr., Thomas and Raymond, her sisters Sally Aschenbrenner and Lilly Shields.
Survived by her sisters Mary (Richard) Luebs and Christine Boswell both of Lockport. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Carolyn L. Spencer
Carolyn L. Spencer nee Stawicki, age 58, of Plainfield went home to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with cancer on Monday, February 24, 2003.
Born in Chicago and raised in Richton Park, IL, she has lived in the Plainfield area for the past 28 years. A graduate of Northern Illinois University and DePaul University with a Masters Degree in taxation and a CPA degree. She owned and operated the Carol L. Spencer CPA firm for the last 12 years in Plainfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Matthew) Peterson of Schaumburg, IL, two granddaughters, Elissa and Sara. Her parents, LaVerne and Felix Stawicki of St. James City, FL. One brother, Richard (Beverly) Stawicki of Oympia Fields, IL, three nieces, one nephew, six grand nieces/nephews and numerous loving friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 2, 2003 from 4-9 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 208 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg where she will lie in state Monday, March 3, 2003 from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Hudak officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Sister Mary Martha Baumgart, O.S.F.
Age 88, of St. Francis Convent, Frankfort, IL died on February 16, 2003.
Sister Mary Martha was born Brigitta Mary on October 7, 1914 in Evansville, IN. Entered Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart January 6, 1936. Made First Profession of Vows on October 4, 1941 and Final Profession of Vows on October 4, 1944.
Sister was cafeteria supervisor and business office manager at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center Joliet, IL for a total of 18 years. Sister also worked in the business office at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin, IL for five years. Sister's other ministries took her to Cardinal Stritch Retreat House, Mundelein, IL; St. Vincent Home and St. Joseph Hospital, Freeport, IL; Provena Sacred Heart Home, Avilla, IN; and the Temporal Affairs office at St. Francis Convent, Frankfort, IL.
Sister is preceded in death by her parents, Fram'cos Baumgart and Magdalen (Kanpp) Baumgart. Her brothers, Clarence Baumgart, Wilfred Baumgart, Herman Baumgart, Synatius Baumgart and sisters Henrietta (Baumgart) Tieken, Petronilla (Baumgart) Hayden, Theckla (Baumgart) Kercher. She is survived by her brother, Donatius Baumgart from Evansville, IN.
Visitation at the Motherhouse is Tuesday, February 18 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Wake Service is at 4:30 p.m. and the Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19 at Queen of Angels Chapel, 9201 W. St. Francis Road, Frankfort, IL.

Age 69. Suddenly, Sunday, February 16, 2003 following a lengthy illness. born in Tripolis, Greece and a longtime Joliet area resident. A lifelong restaurant entrepreneur with over forty years in the Joliet area. Owner and operator of the Silver Spoon Restaurant. A life long member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church.
Preceded by his parents; two brothers, Gus and John Christos.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, "Connie" Christos of Elwood; three sons, Tony (fiance, Jill) Christos of Joliet, Nick Christos of New Lenox and Steve (Lynn) Christos of Glenview, IL. Six grandchildren, Connie and Alyssa, John and Pete, Amelia and Christina. One sister, Maragoula (Kostas) Vervales of Athens, Greece. Fond uncle of many and loving godfather of three.

Age 72, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2003 at Deerbrook Nursing Home in Joliet. Late of Joliet.
She is survived by one daughter, Paula (the late Charles) Shaw, one son Warren Shaw and twins Judith (Mark) Albers and Joan (James) Chavis.
Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born in Tampa, FL. Living in Joliet most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Dennis T. Glavan, Sr.
Age 69, of Custer Park, IL and formerly Plainfield, IL passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. born December 10, 1933 in Joliet, IL to the late Frank and Mary Klancher-Glavan. He was a member of the Plainfield Congregational United Church of Christ, and V.F.W. and American Legion-Braidwood Post. Navy Veteran and retired from Kemlite Corp in 1985.
Survivors include his loving daughters: Valerie (David) Sarrazin of Custer Park, IL and Lisa (George) Paulson of Aurora, CO. Two sons: Jeffrey of Elizabeth, CO and Daniel (Susan) Glavan of Spring, TX. One sister, Delores (Louis) Tomazic of Joliet, IL. Five grandchildren: Tiffany, Veronica and Gabrielle Sarrazin of Custer Park, IL and George II, and Sarah Paulson of Aurora, CO. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded by his parents, one son, Dennis T., Jr. (1980) and sister Georgene Burns (Robt).
Dennis enjoyed collecting coins and sports cards, home repairs and the outdoors. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Beverly Kaldheim
Age 71, of Morris passed away Monday, February 17, 2003 at the Morris Hospital. born January 13, 1932 in Morris to the late Arthur (Sadie Berkland) Gunderson. She lived in Morris all of her life. She married Vernon Kaldheim on March 20, 1955 and he preceded her in death on December 1, 1998.
She is survived by her three children, Judith (Larry) Nickels of Morris, Lois (Ray) Underwood of Clearwater, Florida and Bruce (Lisa) Kaldheim of Kingwood, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2003 at 10 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven Heilmann officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3 to 7 PM at the U. C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home, Ltd. Burial will be held at the Saratoga Cemetery.

Geraldine L. "Gerilou" McDaniel
61 years of age of Coal City, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003 in her home. born April 15, 1941 in Joliet, she was a daughter of Edward Laverne and Gertrude (Drauden) Clark. She was raised and educated in Plainfield, graduating from Plainfield High School with the Class of 1959. On October 20, 1962 she married Larry McDaniel in Geneva, IL. Most of their married life they have lived in the Plainfield area, moving to Coal City in 1998.
Gerilou is survived by her husband Larry, four children, Michael (Ranell) McDaniel of Ottawa, Christine McDaniel of Coal City, Brian (Denise) McDaniel of Coal City and Kim (Joe) Howard of Braidwood, six grandchildren, Mike, Matt, Joshua, Brianna, Bradley and Devin, her mother, Gertrude Clark of Joliet, two brothers, Ed (Betty) Clark of Joliet and Bill (Mary) Clark of Plattville, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Braidwood. Reverend Father Steve Bondi will officiate. Preferred memorials are gifts in Gerilou's memory to her family. Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City is in charge of arrangements.
