Juanita L. Clark
Juanita L. Clark, age 82, of Lanark, IL, died November 20, 2000 at the Big Meadows Nursing Center in Savanna. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 24, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the Russell-Frank Funeral Home in Lanark, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Reverend Herb Bollman of Faith Reformed Church officiated. Burial was in Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
Juanita was born on January 4, 1918 in Paducah, KY. She married Joe Clark in 1966 in Lanark, IL. She was employed for 30 years at Kraft Foods, retiring in 1983. She liked to travel. For a number of years, she and her husband wintered in Texas.
Juanita was survived by her husband, Joe W. Clark of Lanark; two sons, Robert (Mary) Brown of Shabbona, and Gerald Brown of Sheboygan, WI; one daughter, Donna (Larry) Oncken of Aurora; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Marshall; her parents; three sisters, Lowveda Wittenauer, Oline Andrews, and Gwendolyn McDonald; and one brother, Howard McDonald.
A memorial has been established in her memory.

Bonnie Sue Elmore
Bonnie Sue Elmore, 37, of Savanna and formerly of Bloomingdale, Illinois, died Sunday, November 18, 2000 at her home.
A memorial service was held in Bloomingdale, Illinois on Sunday, November 26, 2000. There will be no visitation. Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna was in charge of arrangements.
Bonnie was born Saturday, January 12, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd and Ericka (Schwizgebel) Isaacson.
Bonnie was a homemaker. She loved boating and fishing and enjoyed arts and crafts.
Survivors include a son, Tyler Elmore, at home; her mother, Ericka Isaacson of Bloomingdale, Illinois; two brothers, Terry (Julianna) Isaacson of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Robert (Cathy) Isaacson of Geneva, Illinois.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her father.

Elmer P. Brunner
Elmer P. Brunner, age 87, of Pearl City, died Saturday, September 9, 2000 at Lena Continental Manor.
Elmer was born September 13, 1912 in Pleasant Valley, Illinois to George and Sophia (Spase) Brunner. He married Edith Gerke on April 12, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Edith, of the Lena Continental Manor; three sisters-in-law, Delores Brunner of Freeport, Sue Brunner of Stockton, Bessie Brunner of the Elizabeth Nursing Home; 13 nieces & 12 nephews; many great nieces & nephews.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Mabel Schubert, Sadie Brunner, Vera Katzenberger, Florence Dixon, and Clara Heid; six brothers, Oscar, Leo, EArl, Ralph, Freeman & Lloyd; and several nieces & nephews.
A funeral was held at Offenheiser-Schwarz Funeral home in Pearl City on Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Robert Phelps of the Berreman Church of God officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Pearl City. A visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home in Pearl City.
A memorial has been established for the Berreman Church of God, and has been established in Elmer's memory.

Mildred E. Strauch
Mildred E. Strauch, age 79, of Chadwick, died Saturday, September 9, 2000 at her home in Chadwick. The funeral service for Mildred will be Thursday, September 14, 2000, 10:30 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, Chadwick. Reverend Dave Davies will officiate. Burial will be in Chadwick Cemetery. Friends may call at the visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. A memorial fund has been established in Mildred's name to either the Hope United Methodist Church or the American Legion Auxiliary in Chadwick.
Mildred was born Thursday, February 24, 1921 to Clarence and Ruth (Frazier) Cox in Camilla, Georgia. Mildred attended school in Mitchell County, Georgia. She married Glen P. Strauch on January 27, 1952 in Milledgeville, Illinois. He died on October 29, 1994 in Sterling, Illinois.
Mildred is survived by two sons, Barry (Ila) Farley of Rock Falls, and Mike (Ruth) Strauch of Germantown, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Jesse, Rachael, Bricely Strauch, Morey Farley, and Amy (Dan) Mull; one great-grandchildren, Montana Mull; and three sisters, Gladys Fenton of Camilla, Georgia, Doris (Hoyt) Smithwick of Albany, Georgia, and Sara (L.C.) Eidson of Camilla, Georgia. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Claude and Clyde Cox, and one sister, Ann Thorp.

Bernard Joseph Hiher
Bernard Joseph Hiher, age 73, of Savanna, Illinois, died Monday, October 9, 2000 at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2000 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna. Father Tim Seigel officiated. Burial was at the church cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2000 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, where a Scripture Wake Service was conducted at 8:00 p.m.
Bernard was born on Thursday, October 6, 1927 in Savanna, Illinois to Art and Mildred (Tyler) Hiher. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for thirty-five years retiring in 1981.
Bernard was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna, and a former member of the Savanna Moose Lodge.
Survivors include one sister, Doris (Edward) Urbanik of West Chester, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Edward (Marilyn) Hiher of Savanna and Lawrence Hiher of Savanna; and several nieces and nephews.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents.

Terry "Slip" Lee Wilson
Terry "Slip" Lee Wilson, age 53, of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at his home in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2000 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Reverend David Boda-Mercer of the Community United Church of Christ officiated. Visitation was from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, at the funeral home. Private burial of ashes will be at a later date.
Terry was born on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1947 in Tomah, Wisconsin to Cline and Arlene (Dettman) Wilson. He attended Savanna High School. He married Joan Gale and later married Anna Brossard.
Terry was a disabled Veteran. He served from 1967 - 1970 in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a Ranger in the 101st Airborne receiving the Purple Heart with two clusters and the Bronze Star.
Terry was a member of the LaCrosse and Savanna Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Terry is survived by his mother, Arlene Kish of Clinton, Iowa; three daughters, Saasha Wilson of Brooklyn, New York, Sarah Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jeannine (Nathan Morro) Wilson of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; one grandson, Eric Scott Morro; two sisters, Bonnie (David) Long of Springfield, Virginia and Joy (Mike) Calvert of Clinton, Iowa; three brothers, Robert Allen (Ruth) Wilson of Mt. Carroll, Wayne (Sharon) Wilson of Baileyville, Illinois and Ron (Sandy) Wilson of Savanna; and a special friend, Joan House of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
Terry was preceded in death by his father.

Margaret Munz
Margaret Munz, age 78, of Millegeville, died Wednesday, November 22, 2000, at the Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home. Graveside services took place at the Oak Knoll Memorial park on Monday, November 27, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. There was no visitation. Deacon Harlen Hollewell, of the Milledgeville Brethren Church, will officate.
A memorial has been established in her memory to the Milledgeville Brethren Church.
Mrs. Munz was born the daughter of Walter and Laura (Bellows) Smyth in Polo on April 12, 1922. She married Donald Munz on August 8, 1942 in Oregon. He preceded her in death in 1970. Margaret was a member of the Milledgeville Brethren Church.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Edith (Charles) White of Buda; 2 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; one daughter, Deliah; one sister, Evelyn Shellhause; and one brother, Elmer.
Arrangements were completed by the Allen-Woodin Funeral Home, Milledgeville.

Erin Elizabeth Lowe
Erin Elizabeth Lowe, age 16, of Chadwick, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 22, 2000 at St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, Illinois. The funeral service for Erin was at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2000 at the Hope United Methodist Church, Chadwick. Burial will be in the Chadwick Cemetery. Friends were asked to call at the visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. A memorial fund has been established in Erin's name.
Erin was born on Tuesday, November 6, 1984 to Ross Donald and Jane Elizabeth (Aude) Lowe in Freeport, Illinois. She was a sophomore at the Milledgeville High School. Erin was very active in school activities. She was a class officer, homecoming attendant, and a member of the student council, volleyball team, pom squad, choir, jazz choir, and madrigals. She was an honor student and was chosen by the faculty as student of the quarter. Erin was a unique person, making friends with everyone at school. She had a great personality that was sunny, friendly, positive, and caring. Erin was beautiful both inside and out.
She took after her father and enjoyed playing the piano. Erin had followed in her mother's steps and took dance for twelve years. Erin babysat for Tom and Lisa Fink among others. She was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church.
Erin is survived by her father, Ross Lowe of Chadwick; her mother, Jane Lowe of Chadwick; one sister, Anne Maree Lowe of Chadwick; maternal grandparents, Shirley and Jim Slothower of Chadwick; paternal grandmother, Ruth Lowe of Elgin, Illinois; and maternal great-grandmother, Chrystal Prowant of Milledgeville, Illinois. Her grandfathers, Charles Aude and Donald Lowe, preceded her in death.

Betty J. "BJ" Hensal
Betty J. "BJ" Hensal, age 79, of Mt. Carroll, died Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll. Cremation took place and a Memorial Service was held 7 pm Thursday, February 22, 2001 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois.
"BJ" was born December 8, 1921 in Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of Austin and Kathryn (Wentling) Higley. She married Paul S. Hensal January 2, 1950 in Princeton, Illinois. He died December 8, 1984 in Savanna. "BJ" worded as a beautician operating Betty Jayne's Beauty Salon in Mt. Carroll, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Carroll. She enjoyed playing bridge, crocheting, painting and traveling.
"BJ's" family includes a son, Jeffrey Hensal of Mt. Carroll; two grandsons, Nathan and Austin Hensal; and three step-grandchildren, Matt, Sara and Emily. Preceding "BJ" in death are two sisters, Kathryn Bertsch and Maxine Miller.

Riley Lawrence Stover
Rick and Brenda Stover of Albany are the parents of a son, Riley Lawrence, born Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at Illini Hospital in Silvis. He weighed 7 pounds, one ounce and was 20 inches long.
Riley is welcomed home by a brother, Rhett, 6 and a sister, Rae Anna, 3.
Maternal grandparents are Lawrence and Beverly Derrer of Lanark. Paternal grandparents are Arman Stover of Lanark and Meg Stover of Freeport.
Maternal great-grandmothers are Valida Pieper of Freeport and Leona Stover of Lanark.

Marian A. Haugh
Marian Haugh, age 91, of Milledgeville, died Thursday, February 22, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll.
Funeral Services took place at the Milledgeville Brethren Church on Saturday, February 24, 2001 at 11:00 am. A visitation was held one hour prior, also at the Milledgeville Brethren Church. Rev. Michael Lawyer, of the Trinity Lutheran of Mount Morris, officiated. Burial concluded at the Lanark City Cemetery, Lanark.
Mrs. Haugh was born on June 11, 1909, in Carroll County, the daughter of Wallace and Rose (Dambman) Livengood. She married Fenton Haugh on January 28, 1932, in the Milledgeville Brethren Church. He preceded her in death. Marian and Fenton farmed in the Milledgeville area for many years, before retiring from the Paint Spot in Milledgeville. Marian was also a member of the Milledgeville Brethren Church, current president of the WMS, and was the church organist for over 40 years.
Survivors include three nieces, Mrs. Sharon (Richard) Martin of Oakfield, WI, Mrs. Sheree (Ed) Novotny of Sugar Grove, Mrs. Margaret Livengood of Chadwick; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Frances Livengood; and one nephew, Sheldon Livengood.
Arrangements were completed by the Allen-Grennan Funeral Home, Milledgeville.

Irene C. M. Melendy
Irene C. M. Melendy, age 93, of Savanna, died Thursday, February 22, 2001 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. Funeral services were held 1 pm Saturday, February 24, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church of Savanna with Pastor Polly Klimson officiating. Visitation was held 12 noon to 1 pm. Saturday, February 24, one hour prior to the service, at the Church. A memorial fund has been established in Irene's name.
Irene was born August 13, 1907 in Bulger's Hollow, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Bell) Eacker. She married Kyle Melendy April 9, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa. He died February 4, 1955 in East Moline, Illinois.
Irene owned and operated East Savanna Grocery for 36 years from 1930 to 1966. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Savanna; United Methodist Women; the Golden Age Club; and the Monday Afternoon Club at Mest Manor in Savanna. She enjoyed binding quilts and playing cards.
Irene's family includes a daughter, Joyce Morgan of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; a step-daughter, Leona (James) McGuire of Palm Harbor, Florida; a step-son, Paul "Red" (Florence) Melendy of Savanna, Illinois; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two sisters, Esther Whitney of Plant City, Florida and Elverta York of Cody, Wyoming.. Preceding Irene in death are her husband; three brothers; and two sisters.
