BUSHNELL - Mabel A. Amos, 97, Bushnell, died at 7:05 p.m. Monday (Jan. 12, 2004) in McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
She was born April 6, 1906, in Fulton County, the daughter of Roy and Susie Campbell Predmore.
She married Willis Amos on Dec. 9, 1928, in Good Hope. He died Feb. 13, 1980.
Surviving are a brother, Deloss Predmore, Ellisville, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Lorain Robinson, a son, Dale Amos, and a great-grandchild.
She worked as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Macomb and at Galesburg Research Hospital.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glen Weiss officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bushnell Cemetery.

Anderson, Emma
April 10, 2004
KNOXVILLE - Emma Nicole Foster Anderson, infant daughter of Lisa Foster and Scott Anderson, 403 Jefferson St., died at birth Thursday (April 8, 2004) in Iowa City Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa.
Surviving are her parents; a half-sister, Kayla Anderson, Abingdon; and her grandparents, Cindy and Rodney Foster, Aledo, and Bob and Donna Anderson, Fairview.
Private services will be Monday in Knoxville Cemetery. No visitation is planned.
Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Anderson, Earl E.
December 11, 2003
GALESBURG - Earl E. Anderson, 85, 1106 N. Kellogg St., died at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 10, 2003) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born Aug. 28, 1918, in Knox County, the son of Walfred and Hulda Robertson Anderson.
He married Betty D. Schrodt on Sept. 6, 1949, in London Mills.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Larry (and Vickie) Anderson, Greencastle, Ind., and Jerry (and Robin) Anderson, Pond Creek, Okla.; a brother, Ralph Anderson, Galesburg; a sister, Vera Henninger, Ft. Madison, Iowa; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters and a grandson.
He attended schools in Rio.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served with the 4th Armored Division in Europe.
He farmed in Warren and Knox counties, and worked at Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 20 years, retiring in 1986.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Heather officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Anderson, Jacqueline R.

GALVA - Jacqueline R. Anderson, 78, Galva, died at 1:45 p.m. Monday (Aug. 11, 2003) at home.
She was born March 9, 1925, in Galva, the daughter of Ira "Ted" and Mary Homer Sellon.
She married Ernest O. Anderson on Sept. 27, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo.
Surviving are her husband; four sons, Mike (and Julie) Anderson, Sun Prairie, Wis., John (and Mary Lou) Anderson, Galva, Larry (and Dorothy) Anderson, Granger, Ind., and Rick (and Kathileene) Anderson, Magnolia, Texas; three sisters, Lois Greenhagen, Kewanne, Phyllis Anderson, Galva, and Donna Nixon, Knoxville; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
She attended Galva High School.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Galva Cemetery, with the Revs. Paul Sowden and Jerry Rafalko officiating. No visitation is planned. Rux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to her church or Kewanee Hospital Hospice.

Anderson, Freeda J.

GALESBURG - Freeda Josephine Anderson, 91, 919 Locust St., died at 6:23 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 30, 2003) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born June 6, 1912, in Astoria, the daughter of George and Clara Alice Anderson Benton.
She married Clarence E. Anderson on Jan. 18, 1932, in Monmouth. He died Oct. 17, 1983.
Surviving are a son, Gary R. Anderson, Galesburg; a daughter, Donna (and Kenneth) Reed, Galesburg; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and had been leader of its Ladies Circle, secretary of the Sunday school office and a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Private graveside service will be Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. No visitation is planned. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial may be made to her church.

GALESBURG - Gustaf "Leonard" Anderson, 82, Marmac Drive, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday (Sept. 26, 2003) at home.
He was born March 28, 1921, in Seaton, the son of Gustaf Frederick and Anna Christina Lundeen Anderson.
He married Eleanor Fern Johnson on Sept. 25, 1949, in North Henderson.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, the Rev. Tim L. (and Jane) Anderson, Altona, and Danny Ray Anderson, Phoenix Ariz.; a daughter, Cindy S. (and Randy) Bender, Milan; two sisters Ruby Bickel, Monmouth, and Betty (and Gene) Corbin, Alexis; and four grandchildren.
He graduated from Alexis High School in 1939.
He worked as a foreman in the paint shop at Admiral/Maytag Corp. for 39 years, retiring March 28, 1986. He also had farmed with his father in the Seaton, Alexis, North Henderson and Varna areas.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church and served on the Social Ministry Committee, was a past board member and Sunday school teacher. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a member of square dancing clubs.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church in Galesburg or to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altona.

CAMERON - Frances A. Anderson, 87, 1501 230th Ave., died at 4:05 a.m. Monday (Sept. 15, 2003) in Rosewood Care Center.
She was born Oct. 8, 1915, in Sciota, the daughter of Leslie E. and Zena A. Brock Smith.
She married Earl L. Anderson on Dec. 4, 1933, in Freeport.
Surviving are her husband; a granddaughter, Jessica Anderson, Springfield, Ore.; a half-brother, Ossian Smith, Louisville, Texas; a sister, Florene Pitman, Galesburg; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, John L. Anderson, a brother, two sisters and a half-brother.
She graduated from Galesburg High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Galesburg, for 72 years and was a member of the choir for 45 years. She was a former member of the Knox County Women's Club, Galesburg Community Chorus, the Good Neighbor Club and Knox County Republican Women, serving as a delegate to the State Republican Convention, and was a former member and regent of the Rebecca Parke Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the Rev. Harold Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Galesburg Community Chorus.

Maxine G. Andrews

ALTONA - Maxine G. Andrews, 89, Altona, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 7, 2003) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born Nov. 11, 1913, in Victoria, the daughter of John R. and Maude Mary Kermeen Hanson.
She married Thomas H. "Hughie" Andrews on June 13, 1936, in Galva.
Surviving are her husband; a son, John W. (and Ruth Ann) Andrews, Altona; a daughter, Linda (and Arg) Pullins, Altona; a sister, Irene (and John) Clifford, Moline; three grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild, six brothers and five sisters.
She graduated from Victoria High School in 1931.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Altona Senior Citizens and Grace Episcopal Church in Galesburg and a former member of the Oneida Order of Eastern Star.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Altona. A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Grace Episcopal Church, Galesburg, with the Rev. William J. Barnds officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Oneida.
Memorials may be made to Altona Senior Citizens or her church.

Andrews, Thomas H.

ALTONA - Thomas Hugh "Hughie" Andrews, 90, 2828 U.S. Highway 34, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday (Nov. 28, 2003) in Seminary Manor, Galesburg.
He was born June 13, 1913, in Altona, the son of John and Pearl Frances Miller Andrews Wilson.
He married Maxine Genevieve Hanson on June 13, 1936, in Galva. She died Oct. 7, 2003.
Surviving are one son, John W. (and Ruth Ann) Andrews, Altona; one daughter, Linda (and Arg) Pullins, Altona; three grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one grandson.
He was reared and educated in the former Pierce School. He graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1931.
He farmed in the Altona area and worked at the Andrews Implement business in Altona.
He served as Walnut Grove Township Supervisor; as secretary of the board of the former Pierce School; and on the Knox County Board of Supervisors.
He was a 50-year member of Altona Masonic Lodge 330 AF & AM, where he was past Master and secretary for more than 40 years. He was a life member of the Scottish Rite Consistory, Valley of Moline; Mohammed Temple Shrine in Peoria; El Bon Shrine Club in Galesburg; and charter member of the Altona Lions Club; Knox County Farm Bureau; and Illinois Sheriff's Association.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Galesburg.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Altona with the Rev. Thomas Andrew Janikowski officiating. Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church, Galesburg. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home, Oneida, with Masonic service conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the Altona Masonic Lodge 330 AF & AM.
Memorials may be made to the Altona Masonic Lodge or to Grace Episcopal Church.
