KIRBYVILLE, Texas - Eric Michael "Rick" "Zac" Zacharias, 33, Kirbyville, formerly of Galesburg and Macomb, died at 6:23 p.m. Sept. 11, 2004, in Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 14, 1971, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Ralph Eugene and Ronna Sue Zaidman Zacharias.
Surviving are his wife, Katy Zacharias, Macomb; his parents, Ronna Zaidman, Pekin, and Ralph Zacharias, Macomb; one son, Paul Zacharias, Macomb; one daughter, Mychayla Zacharias, Richmond, Va.; three brothers, Robert Zacharias, Waterloo, Iowa, Scott Zacharias, Madison, Wis., and Steven Jared, Chicago; and two sisters, Darcy Zacharias, Morton, and Holly (and Khristine Mitchell) Zacharias, Chicago.
He attended Macomb High School.
He traveled the country doing construction work.
Private family service was held.

Gladys L. Isaia
September 21, 2004
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Gladys Lucille Isaia, 97, Santa Barbara, died at 12:55 a.m. Sept. 12, 2004, in Santa Maria, Calif.
She was born Nov. 13, 1906, in Knox County, Ill., the daughter of Benjamin Ira and Anna Belle McCullough Poole.
She married Floyd Richard Hogan. He is died. She married Roy G. Isaia in San Bernadino, Calif. He died.
Surviving are one son, Richard Ira Hogan, Eugene, Ore.; one daughter, Evelyn Janette Elmer, Gilbert, Ariz.; four sisters, Minnie Bodenhamer, Spring Valley, Ill., Mayme Miles, Galesburg, Ill., Shirley Shumaker, Hot Springs, Ark., and Annabelle Campbell, Greenville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Cremation was accorded. Graveside service was Sept. 17 in Calvary Cemetery, Santa Barbara.

Ila A. Harding
September 21, 2004
EAST GALESBURG - Ila A. Harding, 92, formerly of East Galesburg, died of natural causes at 6:22 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 19, 2004), in the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Knoxville.
She was born Sept. 17, 1912, in East Galesburg, the daughter of Stephen and Mary Stone Lufkin.
She married Charles Harding on Jan. 9, 1930, in East Galesburg. He died Sept. 14, 1981.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
She was reared and educated in East Galesburg and lived there all of her life.
She was a homemaker and worked at the Meadow Gold Creamery in Galesburg.
Cremation has been accorded. Inurnment will be in the Knoxville Cemetery at a later date. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

L. Patrick Kness

HUNTSVILLE, Mo. - L. Patrick Kness, 68, Huntsville, Mo., formerly of Milan, died Sunday (Sept. 19, 2004), in Moberly Regional Medical Center, Moberly, Mo.
He was born March 19, 1936, in Galesburg, the son of Louis and Iris Ralston Kness.
He married Marsha Kingery and later married Anita L. Anderson on March 17, 1989, in Hannibal, Mo.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Laurie Bland and Sarah (and Ray) Inman, both of Viola, and Jennifer (and Steven) Rosales, Moline; four sons, Michael (and Kim) Kness, Aledo, Steven (and Kim) Kness, New Windsor, Timothy (and Cecilia) Kness, Redondo Beach, Calif., and Matthew (and Krista) Kness, Raleigh, N.C.; two stepchildren, Douglas (and Kris) Plunkett, Naperville, and Dianne (and Joe) Bernhard, Columbia, Mo.; his mother, Iris (and Clifford) Perkins, Alpha; one brother, Gary Kness, Alpha; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister.
He was a self-employed truck driver and was of the Catholic faith.
Funeral will be at 7:45 p.m. Thursday in Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home, Alpha. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hopewell Cemetery, New Windsor.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Elsie M. Lee
September 21, 2004
VIOLA - Elsie Munson Lee, 94, Viola, died Sunday (Sept. 19, 2004), in Aledo Health and Rehab Center.
She was born Aug. 5, 1910, in Viola, the daughter of Don and Bessie Glancey Beard.
She married Edgar Munson on Feb. 15, 1931, in Alexis. She later married Delbert Lee in 1953. He died in 1958.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna (and Clarence) Tipton, Ottawa, and Shorti (and Dave) Crow, Viola; one brother, Dwight Beard, East Moline; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a child in infancy, one daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Lafferty, a grandson, two sisters and four brothers.
She was employed as a waitress at Dan Dee Lunch in Viola for 17 years, retiring in 1968.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family to Aledo Health and Rehab.

William L. Cox
September 22, 2004
ELMWOOD - William L. Cox, 50, Elmwood, died at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 21, 2004), in Farmington Country Manor.
He was born Jan. 21, 1954, in Peoria, the son of Leonard and Mabel Mann Cox.
Surviving are his father of Farmington; two sisters, Victoria Harkness, Elmwood, and Beverly (and Carl) Miars, Yates City; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother.
He graduated from Farmington High School.
He was a radio dispatcher for Elmwood Fire Department.
He lived all of his life in Elmwood, where he was a member of Elmwood United Methodist Church.
Cremation was accorded. A memorial service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday in Patterson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Elmwood Fire Department.

Kenneth W. Johnson

MONMOUTH - Kenneth W. Johnson, 79, Monmouth, died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 21, 2004), in the Community Care Center of Monmouth.
He was born June 24, 1925, in Kirkwood, the son of Bert M. and Ida E. Swanson Johnson.
He married Eleanor Stephens on Sept. 6, 1947, in Monmouth. She died Oct. 7, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Marsha (and John R.) Birkby and Becky J. Johnson, both of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, Greg Johnson, Monmouth; two brothers, Vincent (and Ann) Johnson, Waukegan, and Wendell (and Sharon) Johnson, Denver, Colo.; one sister, Carolyn Sherman, Denver, Colo.; one gandson; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was reared and educated in Stronghurst and Kirkwood, graduating from Kirkwood High School.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He was an insurance agent and owner of Johnson Insurance Agency in Monmouth for more than 25 years.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth, Peoria Mohammed Shrine, Monmouth Masonic Lodge 37 AF&AM, and J.W. Clendinen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2301 and Marion B. Fletcher American Legion Post 136, both in Monmouth.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel. Friends may call Friday at the funeral home; family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church of Monmouth or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Carl A. Lindburg
January 18, 2005
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Carl Adolph Lindburg, 74, formerly of Galva and Kewanee, died Saturday (Jan. 15, 2005) in Port Charlotte.
He was born July 16, 1931, in Macomb, Ill., the son of Horton Lawrence and Vernadine Parks Lindburg.
Surviving are his wife, Betty (Warren Johnson) Lindburg; two sons, Larry A. (and Diana Whitney) Lindburg, Galva, and Roy (and Debbie) Lindburg, Aiken, S.C.; a daughter, Myrna (and Joe) DeAngelis, Langhorne, Pa.; a stepson, Dr. Stephen Johnson, Warrenton, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Sjonnie Johnson, Kewanee; a brother, Larry D. (and Mary Alice) Lindburg, Cambridge; eight grandchildren; three nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin infant granddaughters.
He was raised in Chicago and graduated from Calumet High School. He studied agriculture at the University of Illinois.
He farmed with his father near Cambridge until 1955 when he moved to Galva where he was partner in the Lindburg Oil Company with his father and brother until his retirement.
He was a 52-year lifetime member and past master of the Cambridge Masonic Lodge 49 and a former member of the Galva Volunteer Fire Department.
He attended First Christian Church in Port Charlotte.
He was a master contract bridge player and played on both the Galva Merchant's fast pitch and the Oldtimer's softball teams; and participated in several pool leagues. A pilot with both commercial and instructor ratings, he gave flying lessons to many area students in the 1960s.
Funeral will be Wednesday in First Christian Church in Port Charlotte. Graveside services will be at a later date in Illinois. National Cremation Society is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 494830, Port Charlotte, FL 33949-4830.

Manetta W. Tribbey
January 29, 2005
GALESBURG - Manetta W. Tribbey, 78, 1430 N. Broad St., died at 6:42 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 27, 2005) in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 13, 1926, in Springfield, the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth Olmstead Waldron.
She married Emery Gene Tribbey on Dec. 14, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Kenneth (and Polly) Tribbey, Denver, and John (and Sue) Tribbey, Galesburg; a daughter, Janet (and Robert) Shimmin, Champaign; and five grandchildren, Robert Shimmin, Sarah Howard, Alisia Jones, Edie Bishop and Christopher Bishop.
She graduated from Peoria High School and the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.
She was the Assistant Extension Advisor of Knox County for the University of Illinois from 1969 to 1975.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Galesburg, Delta Delta Delta Sorority and Chapter AN of PEO.
Celebration of Life services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Stephen Bibb and Robert Clark officiating.Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.Private family burial will be at a later date. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Community Hospices of America.

John J. Plack
January 30, 2005
BRIMFIELD - John J. "Junior" Plack Jr., 88, Brimfield, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 29, 2005) in his home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1916, in Brownsville, Texas, the son of John J. and Blanche Simkins Plack.
He married Hazel Simkins on March 6, 1940, in Iowa.
Surviving are his wife; one son, James (and Patricia) Plack, Brimfield; one daughter, Mary Jane (and David) Jordan, Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Peters; one granddaughter, Lori Maher; two sisters, Helen Miller and Arlene Windish; and one brother, Dean Plack.
He farmed near Brimfield all his life, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of Brimfield United Methodist Church and Brimfield Area Men's Club.
Funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Brimfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Merritt officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Patterson Funeral Home, Elmwood. Burial is in Brimfield Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to B.Y.E. Ambulance Service or Brimfield United Methodist Church.
