Annie Lambin

ALPHA - Annie Lambin, 87, Alpha, died Sunday (April 3, 2005) in Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.
She was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Benld, the daughter of David and Agnes Brown Patterson.
She married Jules J. Lambin on April 29, 1939, in Albia, Iowa. He died Jan. 19, 1995.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy (and Jack) Anderson, Woodhull; three sons, Jack (and Bette) Lambin, Preemption, and David (and Linda) Lambin and Kenneth Lambin, both of Alpha; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters.
She graduated from Alpha High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Alpha United Methodist Church, where she served on committees, taught Sunday school, was a former trustee and financial secretary and a member of Lunch Bunch. She was a lifetime member of Crescent Lake in Alpha, delivered Meals on Wheels and assisted with kindergarten at the Alpha school.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Alpha United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. Burial will be in Alpha Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her church or Mercer County Nursing Home.
Mildred M. Eckhardt

KEWANEE - Mildred M. Eckhardt, 90, Kewanee, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday (April 2, 2005) in Kewanee Care Home.
She was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Reynolds, the daughter of Charles Sr. and Milda Osborne Jones.
She married Paul W. Eckhardt on May 29, 1935, in Reynolds. He died in January of 1998.
Surviving are a son, Martin L. Eckhardt, Galesburg; two sisters, Dorothy Earp, Durant, Iowa, and Ruth Harkey, Rock Island; a brother, Charles Jones Jr., Daytona Beach, Fla.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
She was reared and educated in Rock Island and worked at the Rock Island Arsenal during World War II in the Field Service Office.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kewanee.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Burnell Eckardt officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee. Schueneman & Tumbleson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret I. Sweet

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Margaret Irene "Peggy" Sweet, 77, Chula Vista, Calif., died March 26, 2005 in Sharp Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 27, 1927, in Victoria.
She married Morris Sweet on Nov. 22, 1945.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Judith Sweet-Clukey and Patricia Franklin; a sister, Helen Clark; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1945.
She moved to Chula Vista in 1955.
She was a homemaker and secretary for her husband's business, Morrie's Glass Shop.
There were no services.
Memorials may be made to Children's Hospital of San Diego.
Eugene Irving

GALESBURG - Eugene Irving, 72, 260 S. Michigan Ave., died at 9:05 p.m. Friday (April 1, 2005) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born May 23, 1932, in Peoria, the son of Oscar and Thelma Grossley Irving.
He attended workshop at the Knox County Center for the Developmentally Disabled.
No services are planned. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Trulson House in Galesburg.
James R. Cox

ALEXIS - James Robert Cook, 48, 102 S. Holloway, died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday (April 3, 2005) at home of natural causes.
He was born March 18, 1957, in Canton, the son of William Robert and Marian A. Gray Cox.
Surviving are two daughters, Leslie Jo Cox, Rapatee, and Annie Beth (and Tim) Dubs, Canton; a son, Scott James Cox, Rapatee; his parents of Fairview; two sisters, Lori (and Mike) Widger, Rochester, and Valerie Cox, Norris; and a brother, David A. (and Sandra) Cox, Dahinda. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He was raised in Chillicothe, where he attended grade school and junior high. He graduated from Spoon River Valley High School.
He worked at Butler Manufacturing as a welder since 1978 and was a welding instructor at Carl Sandburg College.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, with the Rev. Randy Douglass officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be later.
