DES MOINES, Iowa - Ryan Michael Burris, 11 months old, Des Moines, died Wednesday (June 2, 2004), in Blank Children's Hospital.
Surviving are his parents, Mike and Janice Burris, Des Moines; a brother, Matthew, at home; his grandparents, Larry and Kay Burris, Avon, and John and Joan Gentzkow, Davenport; his great-great-grandparents, Jean Nowicki, Davenport, and Maxine and Louie McGhee, Avon; an uncle, Mark (and Susan) Burris; five aunts, Jennifer (and Bob) Kem, Jill (and Jeff) Jost, Jodi (and Brent) Bowles, Janine (and Kevin) Wright and Janel (and Ron) Stout; and cousins.
He was a member of Windsor Heights Lutheran Church.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Richard Rehfeldt officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery. Brooks Funeral Home, Clive, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the SIDS Foundation, Blank Children's Hospital or to his church.
Burwell, O. Dean

BRADFORD - O. "Dean" Burwell, 75, Bradford, died at 1:16 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 14, 2003) in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
He was born Oct. 29, 1927, in Wyoming., Ill., the son of Otto Fred and Jessie B. Wright Burwell.
He married Phyllis Jean Wirth on March 6, 1949, in Wyoming.. She died Jan. 5, 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Brent A. Burwell, Bradford, and Brandon D. (and Dianne) Burwell, Elmwood; three daughters, Brenda M. (and James E.) Hasselbacher, Galesburg, Linda K. (and Orv) Schnieder, Hopewell, and Kimberly J. (and John) Sherpinskas, Bloomington; a sister, Joyce (and Bill) Weber, Boscobel, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-great-granddaughter.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a fireman aboard the L.F. Mason.
He farmed all of his life.
He was a member of Wyoming. United Methodist Church, Wyoming. American Legion Post 91, Bradford American Legion Post 445, the Wyoming. VFW, Wyoming. 40&8, Shriners of Peoria and the Bradford Lions Club. He was a 50-year member of Wyoming. Masonic Lodge 479, treasurer for the Bradford Fire District and the Osceola Township Board, and served on the Bradford Grade School board of education.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford, with the Rev. Lee Legg officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery near Bradford, with military honors by American Legion Post 445.
Memorials may be made to the Bradford Fire Department or the Bradford Rescue Squad.
Charles W. Bush Jr.

MORTON - Charles W. "Bubby" Bush Jr., 39, Morton, formerly of Galesburg, died at 8:42 p.m. Monday (Sept. 22, 2003) in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
He was born June 8, 1964, in Galesburg, the son of Charles Walter and Linda Nelson Bush Sr.
He married Ronda Adcock on July 4, 2003, in Las Vegas.
Surviving are his wife; his parents of Galesburg; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Doris Pittman, Washington; a son, Charles Andrew Bush, Galesburg; a daughter, Sara Nicole Bush, Galesburg; two stepsons, Kyle Adcock and Kody Adcock, both of Washington; six brothers, Rob (and Deana) Bush, Lee Bush, Edward Charles "Chucky" (and Laurie) Bush, Earl Bush, Michael Bush, and Travis Bush, all of Galesburg; a sister, Debbie (and Roger) McCormack, Virginia Beach, Va.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, his grandparents and an uncle.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1982.
He lived most of his life in Galesburg and the past eight months in Morton.
He worked at Briggs Manufacturing in Abingdon for nine years until it closed and then worked at Mitsubishi Motors in Bloomington.
He attended Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg.
Funeral will be at noon Saturday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children.
Bergena Bushnell

MONMOUTH - Bergena Bushnell, 72, 1198 245th Ave., died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 6, 2003), in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
She was born Dec. 19, 1930, in Oakland, Calif., the daughter of George and Magda Jenson Haynie.
She married Ralph Bushnell in 1986, in Reno, Nev. He survives.
She was preceded in death by one son and one brother.
She was a photo finisher for Fox Photo in California for 33 years. She lived in California most of her life before moving to Monmouth in 1994.
There will be no services. Cremation will be accorded. Scattering of ashes will be done over the Pacific Ocean at a later date.
Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Bushong, Bessie J.

OQUAWKA - Bessie J. Bushong, 78, Oquawka, died at 3:09 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 16, 2003) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Seaton, the daughter of Tom and Bessie Weeks Willitts.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Bushong, Naples, Fla., and Ronald (and Theresa) Boughton, Tampa, Fla.; a longtime companion, Douglas A. McCabe, Oquawka; and two sisters, Ruth Callahan, Keithsburg, and Naomi Winning, Clarksville, Ind. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
She was reared and educated in the Seaton, Aledo and Keithsburg areas.
She worked at Sylvania and I.R.C. in Burlington, Iowa, and managed convenience stores in Florida. She retired in 1992 and returned to Oquawka.
Cremation was accorded. No services or visitation are planned. Turnbull Funeral Home, Oquawka, is in charge of arrangements.

MONMOUTH - Donald J. Caldwell, 62, Monmouth, died at 8:28 p.m. Monday (May 31, 2004) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born Dec. 16, 1941, in Monmouth, the son of Donald R. and Charlene V. Belt Caldwell.
He married Shirley Chenault. He married Sheri Needham.
Surviving are four daughters, Kelly Lane, Kaylene Teague, Kara Jo Caldwell and Brittany Caldwell, all of Monmouth; two sons, Kevin (and Kimber) Caldwell, Crouse, N.C., and Brandon Caldwell, Monmouth; his parents of Monmouth; a sister, Judy Edwards, Monmouth; a brother, Terry Lee Caldwell, Mundelein; and grandchildren.
He was reared in Monmouth and attended Monmouth and Norridge schools.
An Army veteran, he served from 1959 to 1961.
He worked at Maple City Dairy as a route driver, as an over-the-road trucker, at Western Stoneware and as a rural newspaper delivery driver.
Cremation was accorded. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Turnbull Funeral Home. No visitation is planned.
A memorial fund is being established.

GALESBURG - Wilma Peel Callison, 88, Topeka, Kan., formerly of 793 Lawrence Ave., died at 10:52 p.m. Thursday (July 29, 2004) in Midland Hospice Center.
She was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Bernice Liddle Peel.
She married David Grant Callison on March 2, 1936, in Galesburg. He died July 8, 1993.
Surviving are two sons, Herbert G. (and Mary Lou) Callison, Topeka, and Vaughn R. (and Suzanne) Callison, Lake Forest, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
She graduated from Burlington Iowa High School in 1934.
She worked for the former O.T. Johnson's Department Store from 1949 to 1951. She then worked for the City of Galesburg for 26 years, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Galesburg, its Faith Ladies Circle, and was a Sunday school teacher.
She was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 Auxiliary and the Cottage Hospital Service Guild; and also had been a volunteer at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Funeral will at 10 a.m. Monday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the Rev. Marilyn Anell officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Galesburg Rescue Mission and Women's Shelter, or Community Hospices of America.
Campbell, Maurice L.

AURORA - Maurice L. "Maury" Campbell, 80, Aurora, died Tuesday (Feb. 10, 2004) in Provena-Mercy Hospital.
He was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Galesburg, the son of C. Curry and Hazel M. Stevens Campbell.
Surviving are his wife, Elnora E. Campbell, Aurora; a son, Thomas (and Kathy) Campbell, Longview, Texas; two daughters, Nancy (and Kirby) Waalen, Yorkville, and Gail (and Sid) Jennings, Aurora; four grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1942.
He was an Army veteran.
He worked at Burlington Northern Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1985, and at the Chicago Board of Trade for 15 years.
He was a member of the Twin Ponds of Yorkville, Burlington Northern vets, the Tiger Athletic Club, and Masonic Temple 384 and 33 AA Scottish Rite in Galesburg.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Dieterle Memorial Home, Montgomery, with the Rev. David A. Eichelberger officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
