BERWICK - Jeanette Koch, 82, Berwick, died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 7, 2003) in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, is in charge of arrangements.

Kohel, Joanne A.
April 28, 2004
MOLINE - Joanne A. Kohel, 75, Moline, formerly of Fairview, died Sunday (April 25, 2004) at home.
She was born June 11, 1928, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Orville and Linda Letsch Hicks.
She married Loren R. Kohel on April 4, 1981, in Milan. He died Jan. 25, 1998.
Surviving are two sons, Ron (and Debbie) Root, Galva, and Daniel (and Mary) Root, Fairview; a sister, Joyce Bergstrom, Woodhull; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.
She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, and Fairview Order of Eastern Star Chapter 99.
Cremation will be accorded. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church, where visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, is in charge of arrangements.

Konhorst, Larry V.
January 26, 2004
SCHAUMBURG - Larry V. Konhorst, 38, Schaumburg, formerly of Canton, died at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2004) in St. Alexius Hospital, Hoffman Estates.
He was born Dec. 23, 1965, in Canton, the son of Larry and Suzanne Murphy Konhorst.
Surviving are his mother, Suzanne (and Michael) Stenger, Monmouth; three brothers, Doryan Konhorst and Shannon (and Amber) Pritchard, both of Canton, and Joshua (and Jennifer) Pritchard, Misaua, Japan; his stepfather, Ron (and Marti) Pritchard; four stepbrothers, Chris (and Sarah) Stenger, Bloomington, Jeff (and Leona) Stenger, Chicago, and Craig (and Candy) Harkless and Brian Harkless, both of Canton; two stepsisters, Lisa (and Eric) Stark, Lake Camelot, and Kelly (and Warren) Vaughn, St. David; his paternal grandparents, Harry and Dorothy Konhorst, Wee-Ma-Tuk; eight nephews and eight nieces. He was preceded in death by his father.
He graduated from Canton High School in 1984 and received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
He worked as a union painting contractor in the Chicago area the past 15 years.
He was of Christian faith.
Funeral was today in Oaks-Hines Funeral Home, Canton, with the Rev. Keith Jones officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Canton.
Memorials may be made to the Canton traveling basketball team or Alexian Brothers Health Systems.

Koresko, Amy L.
September 14, 2003
ALEDO - Amy L. Koresko, 88, of Aledo died Friday (Sept. 12, 2003) at the Mercer County Hospital in Aledo.
She was born Oct. 16, 1914, in Aledo, the daughter of Theodore L. and Josephine Bjorkman Gustafson.
She married Andrew Koresko Jr. on April 26, 1936, in Aledo.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Carol Hanson, Rock Island, Doris (and Tom) Swinborn, East Moline, and Donna (and Bill) Pinger, Keithsburg; two sons, Keith Koresko, Salem, Iowa, and Philip (and Nancy) Koresko, Aledo; a daughter-in-law, Joydene Koresko, Aledo; a sister, Ruby Allen, Aledo; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald; an infant daughter; a grandson; a sister; a son-in-law; and a daughter-in-law.
She graduated from Aledo High School in 1931.
She was formerly employed as a secretary for the Mercer County Home Bureau, Aledo.
She was a lifetime member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she was an organist in 1934 and a member of the Ladies Aid and the WELCA Faith Circle. She also was a member of the Jolly Neighborhood Club.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo, with the Rev. David W. Schweppe officiating. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fippinger Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church or Serenity Hospice.

Kraft, Francis E.
October 20, 2003
GALESBURG - Francis Eugene "Red" Kraft, 74, a resident of Galesburg Terrace Nursing Home, died there at 6:45 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 19, 2003).
He was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Calhoun County, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Mabel Elliot Kraft.
He married Mary Ann Smidt on Feb. 17, 1945, in Pomeroy, Iowa. She died May 30, 2003.
Surviving are a son, Kevin (and Karen) Kraft, East Galesburg; three daughters, Gerry (and Rodger) Coon, Galesburg, and Janice (and Fred) Hall and Jackie (and Steven) Knuth, both of East Galesburg; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
He was reared and educated in Rockwell City, Iowa.
He moved to Galesburg in 1950 and worked for the city as a humane officer, then as a truck driver for the street department for 15 years. He also drove a truck for Coca-Cola and the American Red Cross in Galesburg before retiring.
He attended East Galesburg Community Church and was a member of the Prairie Chickens Camping Club, Kewanee.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, with the Rev. Milton Marquith officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wataga Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to his church.

Susan Krakowsky
December 12, 2003
SMITHTOWN, N.Y. - Susan Wikoff Krakowsky, 62, Smithtown, died there at 6 a.m. Nov. 23, 2003.
She was born April 5, 1941, in Baltimore, Md.
She married Dr. Jeffrey Krakowsky on June 11, 1969.
Surviving are her husband; her mother, Ann Sigwalt, Galesburg; a son, Dr. Jeffrey Krakowsky, Liston, Ga.; a daughter, Andrea (and John) Carpenter, Merrick, N.Y.; and a brother, Winn Wikoff, Oneida.
She graduated from ROVA High School, received a master's degree in library science from the University of Illinois and did advanced study in medical terminology at Emory University.
Her ashes were scattered at her home in Smithtown.
Memorials may be made to the cancer society or to libraries.

Krebill, Harvey J.
October 14, 2003
HILLS, Iowa - Harvey Jacob Krebill, 101, Hills, died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 12, 2003) in Atrium Village, Hills.
He was born Feb. 18, 1902, in Donnellson, Iowa, the son of Peter R. and Ida Veronica Leisy Krebill.
Surviving are nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He retired as a supervisor and U.S. Railway Postal Clerk.
He was a member and bellringer at St. John United Church of Christ, a life member of the U.S. Federation of Chess Clubs and a longtime sponsor of Star Date with WIUM Radio in Moline.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John's United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Rob Robinson officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison, Iowa; family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m., with a flag presentation by VFW Post 1805, the Marine Corps and American Legion Post 82. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Cattermole Memorial Library or his church.

Phillip D. Kreps
September 27, 2003
BATESVILLE, Miss. - Phillip D. Kreps, 56, Batesville, formerly of Galesburg, died Wednesday (Sept. 24, 2003) in Tri-Lakes Medical Center, Batesville.
He was born June 21, 1947, in Bushnell, the son of William E. and Hazel D. Warren Kreps.
He married Cathy Carnahan on July 26, 1969, in Macomb.
Surviving are his wife; his mother, Hazel Mason, Bushnell; a daughter, Nikki (and Jim) Harrison, Knoxville; a brother, Steve Kreps, Avon; three sisters, Linda Koehlhoeffer, Pekin, Gertrude Woodsmall, Fort Madison, Iowa, and Kathryn Moeller, West Point, Iowa; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He worked 18 years at OMC in Galesburg and most recently at Carlisle Syntec Inc. in Senatobia, Miss.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell, with the Rev. James Vancil officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home; friends may call after 2 p.m. Burial will be in Bushnell Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to any charity.

Kuehl, Gilbert S.
December 16, 2003
ALEDO - Gilbert S. "Gibby" Kuehl, 86, Aledo, died Monday (Dec. 15, 2003), in Mercer County Nursing Home.
He was born April 27, 1917, in Kewanee, Wis., the son of Otto and Florence Rooney Kuehl.
He married Ann Dulski Ward on April 23, 1957. She died in 1984.
Surviving are one sister, Marie Lusk, Monmouth; and one brother, Elmer (and Harriett) Kuehl, Leesburg, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He graduated from Aledo High School.
He was employed in various different capacities until going into business with his father at the Okay Print Shop. After his father's death in 1969, he continued to operate the print shop until retiring in 1999.
He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church where he sang in the choir.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Thieryoung officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo where the rosary will be recited at 7:30. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Catherine's Catholic Church.

Ruth J. Kulczewski
February 22, 2004
MONMOUTH - Ruth J. Kulczewski, 90, a resident of the Monmouth Nursing Home, formerly of Crete, Ill., died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 19, 2004) in the nursing home.
She was born May 28, 1913, in Gary, Ind., the daughter of Frank and Wilhelmina Rehberg Kasten.
She married Harry J. Kulczewski on Aug. 9, 1947, in Chicago. He died Sept. 8, 1998.
Surviving are three sons, Alan (and Peggy) Kulczewski, Monmouth, George (and Vickie) Kulczewski, Madison, Wis., and Paul Kulczewski (and Karen Preston), Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
She was reared in the Chicago area, where she attended school and graduated from high school.
She was a homemaker. Before her marriage, she was a bookkeeper in Chicago.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 28 in Turnbull Funeral Home, with the Rev. Suzanne Geer officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment of her ashes in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the service.
Memorials may be made to the Fairview Center United Methodist Church.
