Russell L. Morris
October 27, 2003
GLADSTONE - Russell Lee Morris, 43, rural Gladstone, died at 1:59 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 25, 2003) at home.
He was born Jan. 24, 1960, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of David Lee and Gilberta Walker Morris.
Surviving are a son, Beau (and Brandie Lindo) Morris, Gladstone; his father, David (and Dixie Christofferson) Morris, Gladstone; his mother, Gilberta (and Richard) Griffith, Wellman, Iowa; his grandmother, Dorothy Walker, Biggsville; a brother, David C. (and Sandy Miller) Morris, Gladstone; two sisters, Leann (and Brian) Bessine and Roberta (and Tim Bewley) Morris, both of Gladstone; two stepbrothers, Phillip Griffith and Joe Griffith, both of Iowa City, Iowa; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.
He farmed and raised horses with his father and brother near Gladstone.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Banks & Beals Funeral Home, Stronghurst, with the Rev. Mark Connelly officiating. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home; family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Olena Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for his son.

Morrow, Raymond L.
August 11, 2003
MACOMB - Raymond L. Morrow, 74, Macomb, formerly of Bushnell, died at 8:55 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 10, 2003) in Wesley Village Health Care Center, Macomb.
He was born July 29, 1929, in Canton, the son of Raymond and Jessie Shumaker Morrow.
Surviving are two brothers, Bruce (and Bertha) Morrow and Dwight (and Kay) Morrow, both of Good Hope; two sisters, Sharon (and Frankie) Jones, Havana and Alice (and Clyde) Kimler, Des Moines, Iowa; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
He worked as a chef for several years, owned the former White Hut Restaurant in Bushnell and operating carnival food services.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Bushnell Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell; the family will not be present.
Memorials may be made to the Alzeheimer's unit at Wesley Village.

Moyer, Patricia
August 6, 2003
CHAMPAIGN - Patricia Shafer Moyer, 72, Champaign, died at 11 a.m. July 19, 2003, in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
She was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Olney, the daughter of Walter L. and Martha Basset Murray Shafer.
She married Donald E. Moyer Jr. on Dec. 1, 1951, in Galesburg.
Surviving are her husband; her mother of Maquon; two sons, Michael D. Moyer, Tustin, Calif., and Christopher S. Moyer, Champaign; a daughter, Martha Gaither, Springfield, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
She graduated from Knox College in 1952.
She was a member of the Junior Service League, Champaign County Planning Commission and Stitcher's Club. She was past president of The Art Club of Champaign, past board member of the Red Cross, and past president and member of the Krannert Art Museum Association. She volunteered for Children's Theater and United Way.
No services are planned. Private burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney. Morgan Memorial Home, Savoy, was in charge of arrangements.

Mulica, Mary A.
June 20, 2003
CUBA - Mary A. Mulica, 77, 21291 N. Illinois Highway 97, died at 6:12 p.m. Wednesday (June 18, 2003) at Graham Hospital, Canton.
She was born July 3, 1925, in Canton, the daugther of Carl H. and Edna Ford Mulica.
Surviving are four sisters, Opal Baughman, Mesa, Ariz., Vivian Johnston, San Jointo, Calif., Hilda Negley, Fairview, and Carol Unger, Knoxville; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
She received her nurse training through Methodist Medical Center.
She worked 20 years as a registered nurse at several nursing homes and hospitals, last working for Spoon River Home Health and retiring in 1998.
She was of the Christian faith.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home, Canton, with the Rev. Cliff Larabee officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Canton.

Munson, Harold E.
August 6, 2004
GALESBURG - Harold E. Munson, 86, 486 Hawkinson Ave., died at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 4, 2004) in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, of natural causes.
He was born Dec. 5, 1917, in Millersburg, the son of Henning and Clara Miller Munson.
He married Helen Ringberg on Oct. 15, 1944, in Galesburg.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Robert (and Judy) Munson, Monticello; one daughter, Connie (and Dick) Cheline, Altona; one brother, Clifford Munson, Galesburg; two sisters-in-law, Mary Henderson, Galesburg, and Aggie Ringberg, Galva; two brothers-in-law, Howard Ringberg, Woodhull, and Robert Ringberg, Galesburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Harold Edwin Munson Jr., one stepgrandson, three brothers and his parents.
He was a farmer in the Rio area, retiring in 1976. He also was a carpenter and painter.
He volunteered at the Galesburg Rescue Mission; and was a trustee and member of the former Ontario Congregational Church and a member of the Wataga Congregational Church.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Oneida Cemetery, with the Rev. Dave Scholl officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville.
Memorials may be made to the Wataga Congregational Church or the Galesburg Rescue Mission.

Munson, Lois D.
February 8, 2004
NAPOLEON, Ohio - Lois D. Munson, 70, Napoleon, formerly of Galesburg, Ill., died at 12:45 p.m. Friday (Feb. 6, 2004) at home.
She was born Oct. 20, 1933, in London Mills, Ill., the daughter of Homer and Nada Mitchell Schisler.
She married Charles "Pete" Munson on July 15, 1962, in Las Vegas.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Roland "Skeeter" (and Melody) Munson, Pullman, Wash., and M. Steven (and Billie) Munson, Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Deborah Thompson, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Rebecca (and Robert) Burner, Napoleon; three sisters, Muriel Deery, Betty Sickles, and Dorla Dwyer, all of Abingdon, Ill.; six brothers, Robert Schisler, Jacksonville, Ill., Bradley Schisler, James Schisler and Donald Schisler, all of Abingdon, Jack Schisler of St. Augustine, Ill., and Homer Schisler Jr., Mount Morris, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
She worked as a teacher's aide for 23 years in 17th Street School and Schmidt School, both in Westminster, Calif. She also worked as an arcade attendant at the Ramada Express, Laughlin, Nev., from 1991 to 1997.
She was a member of Harvest Fellowship Church, Harlan, Ohio.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Harvest Fellowship Church, Harlan, with the Rev. James Erven officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon. Private burial will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Henry County, Ohio, the Harvest Fellowship Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Murphy, John H.
September 3, 2003
MONMOUTH - John H. Murphy, 90, Monmouth, died Tuesday (Sept. 2, 2003) at his daughter's home in Monmouth.
He was born March 23, 1913, in Monmouth, the son of Fred B. and Minnie Anderson Murphy.
He married Mildred Johnson on Oct. 19, 1933, in Stronghurst. She died Nov. 20, 1979. He married Irene Pierce on Jan. 10, 1981, in Monmouth. She died July 8, 2003.
Surviving are a daughter, Dixie (and Phil) Larson, Monmouth; a son, Dan (and Mary) Murphy, Leander, Texas; two stepdaughters, Denise (and John) Turnbull and Dianne (and Ed) Woerly, both of Monmouth; two sisters, Marjorie Denison, Monmouth, and Harriett Pattison, Little York; three brothers, Fred B. "Bud" Murphy, Grayslake, and Oliver "Ollie" Murphy and Wilbur "Web" (and Hazel) Murphy, both of Monmouth; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and a brother.
He was reared and educated in the Monmouth schools, attending Willits School.
He worked many years at Western Stoneware Company, operated Murphy House Moving, was a carpenter for Murphy and Son, and worked at Kistler and Company as an operating engineer for 20 years until retiring.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Turnbull Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Killinger officiating. Friends may call Thursday and Friday at the funeral home; family will be present at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church of Monmouth or Community Hospices of America.

Murphy, Bernadine
May 6, 2004
GALESBURG - Bernadine Murphy, 91, a resident of Rosewood Care Center, died there at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday (May 4, 2004).
She was born Sept. 4, 1912, in Greenbush, the daughter of Jess and Daisey Babbit Smith.
She married W. Wayne Murphy. He died in 1980.
Surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins, including Mary Baker of Galesburg who helped care for her.
She was a homemaker.
She had been a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 Auxiliary.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Watson Funeral Home, with Rex Kilburn officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
