E. Ralph Haar

E. Ralph Haar, age 82, of Peoria, Illinois formerly of the Monmouth area, passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2008, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Ralph was born on November 8, 1925, in Tupolo, Iowa, the son of John and Gertrude (Clark) Haar.
He was raised in the Monmouth area and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1943.
He married Margaret L. Welch on May 26, 1946, in Monmouth, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2002.
After High school, Ralph entered into the United States Army during World War II where he served as a Field Medic.
Ralph was a farmer in the Monmouth and Greeenbush area for 48 years. Ralph liked gardening, reading and playing croquet. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Bushnell VFW. Upon retiring he moved to Galesburg and worked part-time at Farmland Foods in Monmouth and later at Maytag in Galesburg.
He is survived by one son Donald Haar & Linda of Mapleton, Illinois, one daughter Christine Musava & William, four grandchildren, Angela and Aaron Haar and Brian and Richard Braden. Also surviving is one brother Virgil Haar of Monmouth.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother Charles Haar.
Services: A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment with military honors will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth. His family will be present to receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday July 20. A memorial fund is being established for University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria Pathology Department or University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria Rural Students Physician Program (RSPR).
Richard R. "Richie" Vollbracht

Richard R. "Richie" Vollbracht, age 26, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at his residence in Berwick, Illinois. Richie was born on February 1, 1982, in Monmouth, Illinois. He is the son of Dickie Ray Vollbracht and Linda Sue (Crooks) Vollbracht. He was raised in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School.
Richie worked at Roseville Farmers Grain in Roseville, Illinois. He then was employed by Terry Davis Trucking of Roseville as a truck driver. Richie enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Madison. Richie enjoyed tinkerin' on his cars and trucks, mudding in his truck and horseback riding.
Surviving Richie are his mother Linda Vollbracht and step father Leroy Mackey of Cameron, his father Dickie Vollbracht of Monmouth, Illinois. His daughter Madison Vollbracht of Abingdon, Illinois, one sister Trisha Hodges and Terry of Monmouth and one nephew Nicholas Hodges of Monmouth. Also surviving are his paternal grandmother Ruby Foster of Colchester, Illinois and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Richie is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather and two step grandfathers.
Services: A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth. Richie's family will be present to received friends at Turnbull's from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18.
A memorial fund is being established for an Educational Fund for his daughter Madison.
Isabelle G. "Issie" Johnson

Isabelle G. "Issie" Johnson, age 86, of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away at 4:25 p.m. on Monday, Jul 21, 2008, at the Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. Isabelle was born July 5, 1922, in Kirkwood, Illinois, the daughter of James M. and Leona V. Litteral Carnes.
She was raised in the Media area and attended Media-Weaver schools in Media, Illinois.
Isabelle married Gerald A. "Tump" Johnson on December 2, 1941, in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1980.
Isabelle was a homemaker in her own home. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, crocheting, bingo and spending time with family and friends.
Isabelle is survived by one son Russell Johnson and Joan of Stronghurst, one grandson, Chris Johnson and fiance Maegan Gold of Stronghurst, three great grandchildren, Gerald "Jay" Johnson of Burlington, Iowa, Sabrina Johnson of Burlington, and Rheana Jones of LaHarpe, Illinois. Also surviving are one sister, Betty Carmen and Robert of Stronghurst and one brother Donald Carnes and Jane of Media.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, six brothers and one grandson.
Cremation has been accorded.
Services: A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at the Biggsville Cemetery, Biggsville. No family calling hours or visitation are being planned by her family. A memorial fund is being established for the education of her great grandchildren.
Jerimy A. Brockett, Sr.

Jerimy Alan Brockett, Sr., age 28, passed away Thursday morning, July 24, 2008, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Jerimy was born on July 29, 1979 in Burlington, Iowa. He is the son of Roger Allen, Sr. and Cheryl Lynn Bundy Brockett. Jerimy was reared and educated in the Henderson County area and attended Union School. He married Amanda Evens in Oquawka, Illinois, in July of 1998.
Jerimy worked all over the Henderson and Des Moines County areas. He settled down for the last three years, working at Alfa Gomma in Burlington. Jerimy loved building and driving race cars at the 34 Raceway with the assistance of his brother, dad, grandpa, Uncle Marv., and area kids from Gulfport. He loved coaching and playing baseball with his sons. He enjoyed motorcycles and boating. Most of all, Jerimy, loved spending time with his family; they were first and foremost in his life. He was always willing to volunteer his time to help others.
He is survived by one daughter; Alexis Brockett of Terra Haute, Indiana, two sons; Jerimy Brockett, Jr. of Burlington, Jordan Brockett of Burlington, IA. His parents, Roger Brockett and Maleia of Lomax, Illinois and Larry Lain and Cheryl of Oquawka. Five brothers; Roger Brockett Jr and Lori of West Burlington, Mike Lain and Heather of Oquawka, Heath Andrews of Lomax, Shawn Lain and Tianna of Oquawka and Hogan Brockett of Lomax. Three sisters; Billie Jo Lambertsen and Todd of Gladstone, Amber Brockett of Lomax, and Amanda Brockett of Lomax. Also surviving is one grandfather; Bill "Bub" Bundy, his significant other, Angela Linneman and several aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Harve "Hap" Brockett and Darline, Jeaninne Bundy, Haze. Bundy, and Mike Lain and Darline.
Services: A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., July 28, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka. Interment will be in Carman Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka where his family will be present. A memorial fund is being established for the education of his three children.
Carol D. Hart

Carol D. Hart, age 64, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at Community Medical Center in Monmouth on July 27th, at 2:30 am. Carol was born on October 5, 1943 in Monmouth, and is the daughter of Bill and Lucy Beachler Tinder. She attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School. Carol first married DuWayne White. She later married Dale Hart on August 3, 1973 in Kirkwood, Illinois Carol was first employed in the office of GTE in Monmouth, until their move to Macomb, Illinois. She then worked for almost eighteen years at Munson Transportation in Monmouth, until they closed. She then offered childcare out of her home to Katie Lipes, Austin and Emma Marshall, Tess and Cullen Vickroy. Every child whe cared for became a part of her family.

Services: A funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Visitation with her family present will be on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established for either St. Judes Children's Research Hospitals or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Marilyn Jean Lovdahl

Marilyn Jean Lovdahl, age 78, passed away at 7:12 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. Illinois. She was born on July 20, 1930, in Monmouth, the daughter of Glenn and Ella (Britttingham) Cudd.
Marilyn was reared and educated in Monmouth, and attended Monmouth Public Schools.
She married William F. Lovdahl on February 12, 1950, in Monmouth. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2008.
As a child, she worked for her grandfather Dr. Cudd, assisting in vetinary medicine. Marilyn was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth. Marilyn worked as a nurse's aide at the Department of Children and Family Services and at Elder Health Care. She was an avid bowler.
Marilyn is survived by three daughters Peg Key of Buffalo Valley, Tennessee, Melissa Soucy of Melbourne, Arkansas, and Gina VanWinkle and Roger of Galesburg, Illinois. one son Terry Lovdahl and Patrice of Purvis, Mississippi, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Also surviving are
numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.
Cremation has been accorded.
Services: A graveside committal of ashes will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2008, at Gerlaw Cemetery. No calling hours are being planned by the family. A memorial fund is being established for Legacy Estates.
