She was an administrative assistant in the Osceola County (FL) Finance Department. She was a member of the St. Cloud Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Gary Flesner of St. Cloud, FL; Stepmother, Arla Bragg of St. Cloud, FL; four daughters, Belinda Bourdon of St. Cloud, FL, Beth Llamas of Orlando, FL, Ann Pace of Tamms, IL, and Susan Woolsey of Galesburg, IL; one son, Andrew Flesner of St. Cloud, FL; one brother, Harry Bragg of Ft. Myers, FL; and six grandchildren. Her parents and one son, Brian Bourdon, preceded her in death.

He was born on May 29,1932, in Giddings, TX to Ernest W. and Susie Mae (Fant) Brunner Sr. He married Shirley Underwood on February 8, 1958 in Galesburg. A former member of Union Lodge 2063, he worked at Maytag Corp. in Galesburg for 45 years, retiring Dec. 1, 1996. He also was a member of the Thursday Senior Bowling League at Northgate Lanes in Galesburg. He served in the Illinois National Guard from 1947 to 1950 and in the Army from 1952 to 1953, stationed in Japan. He was a member of Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post 381 in Abingdon. He is survived by Connie Siedel of Abingdon, with whom he made his home; one son, David of Morton; one granddaughter; and Bob Siedel and Sonita Siedel, both of Abingdon, whom he helped raise. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.
Mr. Robert E. Nielson, 74, of 1096 Tamarind Drive Galesburg, IL, died at 11:26 am Sunday September 24, 2000 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. He was born on December 17, 1935 in Galesburg to Soren I. and Pearl (Eastburg) Nielson. He married Bonnie Brissey on November 8, 1946 in Galesburg. She survives. He was a chemical engineer for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Akron OH for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He played drums with various bands in the area and was the founder of Galesburg's Stearman USO Show. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Nielson of Galesburg, IL; one daughter, Becky Crabtree of Wadsworth, OH; three sons, David Nielson and Jeff Nielson, both of Galesburg, IL and Jim Nielson of Wadsworth OH and eight grandchildren.

Babbitt on October 28, 1939 in Galesburg. She survives. A graduate of Brown's Business College, he was a self-employed building contractor for 30 years. He also was a master locksmith retiring from the Galesburg Mental Health Center in 1982 after working there for 16 years. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Galesburg. He was a 54-year member in the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285. He also belonged to the AARP, AFSCME, Artist Guild, Older Americans of Knox County, Good Sam's Campers Club, and the Carpenters Union #183 in Peoria IL. He served in the Army during World War II receiving a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and three Battle Stars. His wife, Barbara Hallberg of Galesburg, IL; two sisters, Dorothy Morris of Galesburg, IL and Betty Snyder of Bella Vista, AR; and 19 nieces and nephews survive him.

He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1931. He received a Bachelors degree from Knox College, Galesburg in 1934. He graduated from Northwestern Medical School in 1938 and University of Illinois Medical School in 1942. He was a member of the American Medical Association and past president of the Knox County Medical Society. He was the first director of the cardiac unit at St. Mary Hospital. He was a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and a clinical faculty member at the Knox-Rush Medical School for 5 years. He was a physician in Galesburg for 34 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Galesburg. He served in the US Army Medical Corp in the European Theatre achieving the rank of Major. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Margaret Bohan of Galesburg, IL; three daughters, Jane Bohan of New York, NY, Nancy E. Bohan of New Orleans, LA and Dr. Ruth L. Bohan of St. Louis, MO; two sons, John M. Bohan of New York, NY and Dr. Timothy P. Bohan of Houston, TX; one brother, Robert E. Bahl of Preston, MN; one daughter, Mary Lou Brock of Galesburg, IL; 20 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Her husband, one daughter, Carol Hare, and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Mr. Edward L. Woodworth, 62, formerly of Galesburg, died at 2:15 AM Monday September 18, 2000 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Danville, IL. He was born on May 24, 1938 in Monticello MO to Burrell L. and Margaretta O. (Bland) Woodworth. He married Sara A. Riggs Hatch in Lewistown MO on August 24, 1977. He farmed in the LaBelle MO area from 1956 to 1964. He then entered the United States Air Force and served for twenty years. After his Air Force retirement he worked as a custodian at Knox College, Galesburg. While in the Air Force he achieved the rank of Tech. Sergeant. During his tour he served in 22 different countries. He attended Prairieland Baptist Church in Galesburg. He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Suggs of Monmouth, IL; one son, Donald Woodworth of Bridgeport, TX; three sisters, Lena F. Daak of Lewistown, MO, Joanne McIntyre of Galesburg, IL and Margaret L. Sullivan of Ewing, MO; two brothers, Charles W. Woodworth of Quincy, IL and Chester F. Woodworth; and 3 grandchildren. He was graduated from Abingdon High School in 1952. He attended Eureka College and later graduated from Western Illinois University, Macomb IL. He worked at Spoon River Valley School District 4 for 17 years, where he was a principal, teacher and basketball coach. He later worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation as an Engineer Tech for 17 years. He also farmed near the Ellisville and London Mills areas for 35 years. He was a veteran of the Air Force and was a member of Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post 381 in Abingdon. Surviving are his wife; one son, Timothy John Schisler, Amarillo, Texas; three stepsons, Randy Cox, Galesburg, Jeff Cox, Sharpsville, Ind., and Steve Cox, Chatham; two daughters, C. Swanson in Knoxville IL on December 31, 1927. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1969. Before her marriage she was a clerk at the former O.T. Johnson Department Store. She then devoted her life to her family and her husband's farm in Knoxville. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg belonging to the United Methodist Women and various Circles of the Church. She was also a member of Oliver Wendell Holmes Club, Galesburg Women’s Club and Tri Psi sorority. She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Schock of Highland Ranch CO; one son, Richard Swanson of Galesburg, IL; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was also a musician and singer for the last 30 years playing guitar and drums for several different bands. He played at a private dinner for then President Richard M. Nixon at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield IL. A 1973 graduate of Galesburg Senior High School, he lived in the Rio area for the past 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Vicky L. Mr. Allen L. Clark, 77, a resident of the Care Center of Abingdon died at 1:05 AM Monday September 11, 2000 at the Care Center. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday September 14, 2000 in the Abingdon Cemetery. Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday September 13, 2000 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church. He was born on November 14, 1922 in Abingdon to Herbert F. and Verna F. (Lowry) Clark. He had lived in Abingdon all his life. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1942. He worked at Briggs Manufacturing in Abingdon for 29 years, retiring in 1973. He also owned and operated Clark's Tree Service in Abingdon since 1944. He was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church where he served as an usher and on the church board. He served in the US Coast Guard for three years. He was an avid gardener and flower displayer at the Abingdon Fall Festival where he received numerous blue ribbons. He is survived by one brother, Claire W. Clark of Elmwood IL; a sister-in-law, Annabelle Clark of Danville IL; three nieces and one nephew. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Alvin A. Hanson, 73, of 85 W. Mary St. Galesburg, IL, died at 1:47 AM Sunday September 10, 2000 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday September 13, 2000 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Rev. Dennis Knotts, Cameron Christian Church, will officiate. Friends may call from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. He was born on April 23, 1927 in Victoria IL to Andrew and Vesper (Rice) Hanson. He married Nina L. Wells in Galesburg on November 28, 1968. She survives. He did janitorial work for Steak and Shake, the YMCA and other office buildings before working at Butler Manufacturing Co. in Galesburg. He retired in 1996 after 22 years. His wife and two sisters, Louise Craig of Peoria, IL and Helen Turnbull of Knoxville, IL, survive him. His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Mr. Lawrence W. Anderson, 91, of 1115 N. Farnham Street Galesburg, IL, died at 12:50 AM Friday September 8, 2000 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday September 11, 2000 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Chapel. He was born on August 6, 1909 in Galesburg IL to Clyde and Blanche (Carter) Anderson. He married Mary Jane Parnell in Oquawka IL on September 30, 1933. She survives. He was a car inspector for Burlington Northern Railroad for 47 years, retiring in 1974. He also repaired organs for Gamble Music for 20 years. He was a graduate of Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg and the Hammond Organ School. He was a former member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen and a former Mason. He is survived by his wife; one son, James Anderson of Oconomowoc, WI; two daughters, Betty Field of Galesburg, IL and Roberta Sharp of Yankton, SD; ten grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. One sister preceded him in death.
Mrs. L. Arlene Adams, 72, of 910 W. Wilcox Ave. Peoria IL, formerly of Galesburg IL, died at 12:02 AM Thursday September 7, 2000 at Proctor Hospital, Peoria IL. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday September 11, 2000 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Daniel Siems, First Baptist Church, will officiate. Friends may call from 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM Sunday September 10, 2000 at the Chapel. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Galesburg. She was born on March 30, 1928 in Rock Island IL to Clois and Lois (Rogers) Temple. She married Arthur D. Adams in Galesburg on June 9, 1948. He survives. She worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for several years then worked at OSF St. Mary Medical Center as a registered nurse for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Galesburg and Women of the Moose, Rebekah Lodge and O.A.K.S. all of Galesburg. She graduated from Galesburg High and the Carl Sandburg College School of Nursing, Galesburg, IL in 1976. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Judy Crouch and Sue Alfaro, both of Peoria; one brother, Eugene Temple of Rock Island; three grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Phillip S. Nelson, 96, a resident of the Care Center of Abingdon (IL) died at 9:55 AM Thursday September 7, 2000 at the Care Center. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday September 9, 2000 in the Abingdon Cemetery. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon to 12:45 PM at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Care Center of Abingdon. He was born on January 31, 1904 in Abingdon IL to Francis E. and Mary C. (Anderson) Nelson. He married Dorothy Bowles. He lived in Abingdon most of his life. He worked at the Abingdon Pottery and later at Blue Bell Manufacturing Co, from 1933 – 1966 as a maintenance mechanic. Surviving him is a son, Ed Nelson of Arlington Heights IL, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son – Pierre Stanley Nelson, and two sisters.
Mrs. Kathleen Miller, 97, of 1566 Red Bud Lane Galesburg, IL, died at 3:50 PM, Tuesday September 5, 2000 at Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 12:00 PM Saturday September 9, 2000 at the Knoxville Cemetery. Rev. John D. Carson, Jr. will officiate. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon Saturday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to a charity of the donor's choice. She was born on December 22, 1902 in Persifer Township, Knox County IL to Jacob and Lucinda (Stevens) Debolt. She married Sylvester Johnson. After his death she married Arthur G. Miller. Mr. Miller died in 1966. Cousins survive her. One sister and her twin brother preceded her in death.
