Mr. Robert S. Trask, 90, of 1286 E. Fremont Street Galesburg, IL, died at 9:30 AM Wednesday July 18, 2001 at Seminary Manor Nursing Home, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday July 20, 2001 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg, with Rev. Frederick E. Larner officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church.
He was born on February 6, 1911 in Galesburg to Hermann and Anna (Schumann) Trask. He married Sigrid Gustafson in Galesburg on July 16, 1937. She preceded him in death on March 14, 2001.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1929. He graduated from Knox College with a BA degree in 1933 and University of Illinois in 1935 with his Masters. He took graduate courses at University of Illinois and Western Illinois University. He taught English and Social Studies from 1935 to 1953 at Cissna Park Community High School in Cissna Park IL where he later became Principal. He taught at Lombard Junior High School from 1953-1972, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Knox County Retired Teachers Association and the Knox-Lombard 50 Year Club.
He is survived by two sister-in-laws, Marjorie Gustafson and Virginia Gustafson, both of Galesburg, IL. A sister preceded him in death.
Mrs. Marlyn J. Frisby, 56, of 1527 Williams Street Galesburg, IL, died at 10:49 AM Sunday July 22, 2001 at her home. Her funeral will be 1:30 PM Wednesday July 25, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Carol Lakota Easton officiating. Private family burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Chapel. She was born on December 2, 1944 in Galesburg to Howard and Edith (Lane) Swartz. She married D. Joe Frisby in Galesburg on May 24, 1970. He survives.
She worked as a bookkeeper at the Johnson Grain Coop in Oneida for 6 years, a secretary at the Brown Specialty Company in Galesburg for 20 years and in the financial aid department at Carl Sandburg College for 6 years. She was a 1963 graduate of Galesburg High School and a 1966 graduate of Brown's Business College in Galesburg. She attended Western Illinois University in Macomb. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg and a member of the Church's Love Circle, Administrative Board and Worship committee. She was active in Troop #207 of the Boy Scouts of America. She was also a member of the Inali Lodge Dance Team and a staff member for the Wood Badge Training Program. She received the Boy Scouts' Silver Beaver Award and the District Award of Merit.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Frisby of Galesburg, IL, father, Howard Swartz of Galesburg, IL, two sons, David Frisby and Richard Frisby, both of Galesburg, IL.
Mr. Robert D. James, 64, of St. Augustine, IL, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at 123 Knox Rd. 200N in St. Augustine, IL. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 20, 2001, at 11:30 AM at Highland Park Cemetery, Kirksville, MO. Rev. Jim Robinson will be officiating. He was born September 25, 1936 in Hurdland, MO to Orville E. and Edna W. (McClay) James. He worked for the former Alton Box Company (now Jefferson-Smurfit Company) in Galesburg for several years. He then worked as a roofer for Templeton Roofing, Galesburg for several years. He had lived in Fort Madison, Iowa for many years and moved to the Galesburg, IL area in 1980. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He was a private stationed in Germany.
He is survived by his mother, Edna Sage of Galesburg, IL, a daughter, Mrs. Kim Kessmeyer of Muscatine, IA, two brothers Billy James of Galesburg, IL and Howard James of St. Augustine, IL, a sister, Betty Tribley of Wright City, MO and two grandchildren.

She was born on January 26, 1916 in Galesburg IL to John R. and Caroline (Henshaw) Moreland. A 1933 graduate of Galesburg High School, she was a secretary in Dr. John Bohan's office. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, the Galesburg Women's Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the New England Women.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne Schebo of Liberty, MO, two grandchildren and two step grandchildren. A sister preceded her in death.

She was born on March 22, 1904 in Moline IL to Henry and Margaret (Griffith) Miller. She married Gerald O. Bodeen in Henry County IL on December 1, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1966. She was a member of the Coldbrook Christian Church, the AARP, the Home Bureau and was an active volunteer at area hospitals.
She is survived by four daughters, Carol Blair, Kathleen Lucas and Ruth Chandler, all of Galesburg, IL and Marian Crumley of North Bend, OR and a brother, Wallace Miller of Paxton, IL, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, a step great-grandchild and two great great grandchildren. A brother, two sisters and a grandchild preceded her in death.

She was born on July 2, 1932 in Waukegan IL to Arthur and Edna (Edwards) White. She married Dan W. Stiarwalt in Galesburg on July 23, 1967. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2000. Prior to this marriage she was married to Gerald Holloway and Robert Newburg. She was a secretary for the Burlington Truck Line then Pekin Insurance, retiring in 1996. She was a 1951 graduate of Galesburg High School and a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Ensley of Galesburg, IL; two step-sons, Patrick Lang of Robinsville, NJ and Timothy Lang of Indialantic, FL; a sister, Maryan Staske of Mahomet, IL; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two infant sons and a brother, Jack White, preceded her in death.

She was born on December 10, 1914 in McPherson KS to Albert C. and Hannah (Johnson) Roseberg. She married Robert O. Johnson in Burlington IA on June 28, 1939. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1997.
She was an aide at the former Galesburg State Research Hospital and a waitress at the former Galesburg Club. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Johnson of Knoxville, IL and Victor Johnson of Aledo, IL, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Two brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.

She was born on August 11, 1916 in Dahinda IL to William S. and Pearle M. (Dossett) Cox. She married Louis Jaggard in Galesburg on February 8, 1936. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1986. She was a member of the Rapatee Union Church and attended the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg. She was a volunteer for the Cottage Hospital Service Guild and a member of the Wataga Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Abbott of Topeka, KS and Roberta Hull of Galesburg, IL, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

He was born on December 21, 1907 in Mediapolis IA to Henry and Anne (Guy) Flaar. He married Edna L. Peterson in Galva IL on August 17, 1929. She preceded him in death on January 12, 1997.
He worked as a locomotive engineer for the former C. B & Q. Railroad for 45 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church where he had been a deacon and a trustee. He was a member of Alpha Masonic Lodge #155. He was past president of the Galesburg Burlington Northern Credit Union. He served on the Knox County Board from 1974 to 1992 where he had been vice chairman of the Board and chainman of the Landfill Committee.
He is survived by a son, Richard Flaar of Knoxville, IL, a daughter, Marilyn L. Sage of Galesburg, IL, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was born on June 13, 1919 in Appleton IL to John S. and Lacy Ann (Fields) Gibbs. He married Clara E. Bower in Galesburg on January 16, 1939. She survives. He worked for Rowe Manufacturing for 41 years, retiring in 1985. He then worked for CUSD #205 as a custodian for 5 years. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Gibbs of Galesburg, IL, a son, Ralph Gibbs of Port St. John, FL and three grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

He was a project manager for Restaurant Specialties. A 1954 graduate of Galesburg High School, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, REACT, Civil Air Patrol, the Pilot Club, the Carpenters Union, American Legion Post #285 and the National Rifle Association. He served in the Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Roberson of Galesburg, IL; a daughter, Twila Mustain of Galesburg, IL; two sons, Anthony Roberson of Galesburg, IL and Brian Roberson of Amarillo, TX and seven grandchildren. She worked at the former Gale Products Division of Outboard Marin Corporation for 18 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church.
