Mrs. Violet E. Page, 96, of 19 E. Tompkins St. Galesburg, IL, died at 11:30 PM Monday August 13, 2001 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday August 16, 2001 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg, with Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
She was born on February 20, 1905 in Galesburg to Enoch and Anna (Swan) Ekstrom. She married Robert L. Page in Galesburg on December 25, 1923. He preceded her in death in 1971. She was a member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church.
She is survived by four sons, George Page of Knoxville, IL, John Page of Galesburg, IL, Lloyd Page of Chandler, AZ and Robert Page of Peoria, IL; a sister, Doris Ekstrom of Flora, IL; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Miss Delila 'Jeanie' Brown, 64, of 239 S. Cherry Street Galesburg, IL, died at 1:26 AM Tuesday August 7, 2001 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday August 9, 2001 at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island IL, with Rev. Thomas Mohr officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Square Activity Fund.
She was born on July 18, 1937 in Rock Island IL to Alfred and Helen (Laughery) Brown. She enjoyed sewing, animals and family visits.
She is survived by a brother, Richard Brown of Lakeview, AR, two sisters, Madlynne Nelson of Moline, IL and Doris Pinczer of Davenport, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. A brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Anna M. Rogers, 75, of 1691 N. Academy Street Galesburg, IL, died at 11:49 AM Monday August 6, 2001 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Her funeral will be 10 AM Thursday August 9, 2001 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday August 8, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church, the Costa Catholic Schools or the Galesburg Public Schools Foundation.
She was born on May 12, 1926 in Williamson County, Illinois to James and Itha (Smith) Crosson. She married Thomas G. Rogers in Jacksonville IL on November 25, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1994. She was a co-owner of Roger Brothers Foods. She was a member and Deaconess at the Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg. She also belonged to the Church's Shining Light Circle. She was a member of the St. Mary's Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the Senior Women's Bowling League.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Boydstun and Mary Hale, both of Galesburg, IL, a brother, William Crosson of Galesburg and five grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Nettie P. Wall, 76, of 47 Lorraine Dr. Galesburg, IL, died at 4:28 AM Saturday August 4, 2001at Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL. Her funeral will be 11:00 AM Tuesday August 7, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Paul Myers officiating. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
She was born on Marcy 1, 1925 in Adrian MO to James and Nettie (Collins) Collins. She married Harold E. Hochstetler in Tarko MO on November 23, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1967. She then married Albert B. Wall in Galesburg on October 2, 1968. He survives. She worked at the Galesburg Cottage Hospital and the Knox Laundry, retiring in 1980.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Wall of Galesburg, IL; three daughters, Shirley Marsh and Linda VanUnnik, both of Galesburg, IL and Wanda VanUnnik of Wataga, IL; three step-daughters, Pat Thurman of St. Augustine, IL, Sandra Williams of Colchester, IL and Connie Derham of Cumming, GA; a brother, Russell Collins of Galesburg, IL; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; nine step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Mr. Richard L. Turpin, Sr., 83, of 1111 Parkview Road Galesburg, IL, died at 7:55 AM Thursday August 2, 2001 at his home. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Monday August 6, 2001 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg, with Mr. Joe Beadle officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born on March 22, 918 in Peoria IL to Benjamin and Goldie (Hicks) Turpin. He married Cora Mae Burkhart in Bowling Green KY on October 14, 1943. She preceded him in death on February 24, 1998.
He was an auto mechanic, working for Inman Motors, Galesburg. He then worked for Burlington Truck Lines, Galesburg for 10 years. He was then a mechanic for Centel Telephone Company in Galesburg for 10 years. He retired in 1979. He was of Methodist faith. He was a 41-year member of Galesburg Alpha Masonic Lodge #155, Galesburg Chapter of Royal Arch Masons #46, and Illinois Council Masonic Lodge #1, Knoxville, IL. He was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285, Galesburg. He served in the Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Galesburg Rifle Club and a former member of the Knox County Disaster Team.
He is survived by a son, Richard Turpin, Jr. of Galesburg, IL; two daughters, Judi Does of Garden Ridge, TX and Janice Barfield of Littleton, CO; a special friend, Murel Young of Galesburg, IL; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters.

Mr. Harry C. Gardner, 83, of 374 Kings Canyon Blvd. Galesburg, IL, died at 4:15 AM Thursday August 2, 2001 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg, IL. His funeral will be 10:00 AM Monday August 6, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Becky Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Mosher Cemetery, Warren County, Illinois. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday August 5, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to Coldbrook Christian Church.
He was born on July 5, 1918 in Galesburg to Frank and Esther (Conard) Gardner. He married Jean L. Johnson in Monmouth IL on August 10, 1939. She survives.
He farmed in the Coldbrook area from 1939 until he retired in 1985. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. A 1936 graduate of the Galesburg High School, he attended the University of Illinois. He was a member of the Coldbrook Christian Church where he had served as board member and treasurer. He was a member of the Galesburg Antique Car Club.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Gardner of Galesburg, IL, a son, John Gardner of St. Louis, MO, a sister, Lois Whitman of Galesburg, IL, a granddaughter, Caitlin Gardner of St. Louis, MO, and a grandson, Terence Gardner of St. Louis, MO.

Mrs. Donna C. Thompson, 65, of 266 Arnold St. Galesburg, IL, died at 11:45 AM Wednesday August 1, 2001 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. Her funeral will be12:00 PM Saturday August 4, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. James E. Hazelwood officiating. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday August 2, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene.
She was born on January 22, 1936 in Galesburg to Emil A. and Claudia M. (Page) Lundquist. She married Robert E. Thompson in Galesburg on November 6, 1954. He survives.
She first worked as the secretary at the First Church of the Nazarene. She then worked in the Knox County Recorder's office and then worked in the Knox County Circuit Clerk's office. She was a 1953 graduate of Galesburg High School. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was a Past Board Member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She lived in Galesburg her entire life.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Thompson of Galesburg, IL, a daughter, Linda Miles of Wataga, IL and two granddaughters, Christy Miles of Wataga, IL and Stacey Miles of Galesburg, IL. A son, Michael, and a brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Evalyn A. Stich, 86, of Sarasota, FL, died at 6:45 PM Monday July 30, 2001 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota, FL. Graveside services will be 11:30 AM Saturday August 4, 2001 at Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg with Rev. Neil Stich officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida.
She was born on May 25, 1915 in Manchester OH to Oda Walker and Eva T. (Agee) Gibbs. She married John E. Stich in Galesburg on August 1, 1937. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1990.
She was an owner of Stich Typewriter Company of Sarasota FL and a member of the Southside Baptist Church, Sarasota.
She is survived by three sons, John Stich of LaGrange, GA, Neil Stich of Swainsboro, GA and Steward Stich of Sarasota, FL; a sister, Erma Stribling of Galesburg, IL; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mr. Earl W. Hayes, 74, of 897 E. Fremont St. Galesburg, IL, died at 8:17 PM Monday at his home. His funeral will be 10:00 AM Thursday August 2, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Robert Malone officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. He was born on April 19, 1927 in Galesburg to Harry and Mable (Rice) Hayes. He married Susan G. Murdock in Galesburg on July 26, 1951. He then married Linda Cannon in Galesburg on June 8, 1973. He was a self-employed painting contractor.
He is survived by two sons, Cris Hayes and Larry Hayes of Bismarck, IL; a brother, Lloyd Hayes of Galesburg, IL; two sisters, Mae Boyd and Shirley Williams, both of Galesburg, IL and six grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

Miss Irene R. Olin, 86, of 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg, IL, died at 5:53 PM Monday July 30, 2001 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 10:30 AM Thursday August 2, 2001 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, with Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or Faith United Methodist Church.
She was born on July 29, 1915 in Ophiem IL to Charles N. and Florence (Malmstrom) Olin. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Galesburg.
She is survived by a sister, Frances Kenney of Altona, IL; three brothers, Lester Olin, Ralph Olin, and Willis Olin, all of Galesburg, IL. Two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Mr. Ronald 'Hink' Hinkson, 50, of 1370 N. Seminary St. Galesburg, IL, died at 7:57 AM Monday July 30, 2001 at Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL. His funeral will be 1:30 PM Thursday August 2, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Elders Michael White and Barb DeVena officiating. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday August 1, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Foundation, Kidney Foundation or Community Hospices of America.
He was born on May 2, 1951 in Galesburg to Ben J. and H. Joan (Lind) Hinkson. He worked for Dick Blick Co. for 11 years and for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 5 years, retiring in 1985. He was a 1969 graduate of Galesburg High School.
He is survived by his parents Ben and H. Joan Hinkson of Galesburg, IL and a brother, Jay A. Hinkson of Bloomington, IL.

Mr. John Olin Wilkins, 80, of 1367 Monroe St. Galesburg, IL, died at 12:40 PM Saturday July 28, 2001 at Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL. His funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday August 1, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Capt. Rick Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
He was born on October 17, 1920 in Detroit IL to Charles M. and Grace V. (Dunham) Wilkins, Sr. He married Elsie May Baker in Tring, Hertfordshire England on March 14, 1945. She survives.
He was the owner and operator of the former Wilkins Market that specialized in fresh fruit & vegetables and garden related plants in Galesburg from 1938-1972. He later worked for Puckett Buick and Butler Manufacturing retiring in 1985. He was a very active member of the Salvation Army in Galesburg for 55 years serving on the Salvation Army League of Mercy. He served in the US Army as a staff sergeant in US and England for four years from 1942-1946.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Wilkins of Galesburg, IL; a son, Paul Charles Wilkins of Littleport, Cambridgeshire, England; a sister, Marjorie Dale Ryan of Henderson, IL; a brother, Bud William Wilkins of Galesburg, IL and a grandson, John Albin Wilkins of Phoenix AZ. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Mr. Ernest Stanley, 99, of 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg, IL, died at 2:58 AM Tuesday May 29, 2001 at Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday May 31, 2001 at East Linwood Cemetery with Rev. Tom Larsen officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to Marigold Health Care Activity Center.
He was born on May 17, 1902 in Newell IA to Clarence and Mary (Heineaus) Stanley. He married Far Weltzheimer in Galesburg on September 8, 1924. She preceded him in death in 1974. He then married Mildred Carlson in Bertha MN on August 2, 1975. She preceded him in death in 1982. He was a carman for the Burlington-Northern Railroad for 26 years, retiring in 1967.
He is survived by two sons, Dean Stanley of Galesburg, IL and Donald Stanley of Melbourne, FL, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
