Gwendolyn “Gwen” F. Peterson

Gwendolyn F. “Gwen” Peterson, 62, of rural Kewanee, Il. died at 9:54 A.M. Thursday, January 13, 2005 in the emergency room at Kewanee Hospital. She was born November 18, 1942 in Sterling, Il. the daughter of E. Wilson and M. Ferne (Kepner) Berge. She graduated from Tampico High school in 1960 as the class Salutatorian.
She married
Stanley N. Peterson August 13, 1960 in Walnut, Il. He survives along with one son Stephen M. Peterson of Kewanee and two daughters Kim (Loren) Stiegelmeyer of Hiawatha, Ia. and Kay Luan (John) Hammer of Kewanee. Seven grandchildren Kelsey and Drew Stiegelmeyer, Tyler, Kari and Kati Pierson and Kodi and Levy Hammer. Two sisters survive Sharon (Ted) Sumner and Lorraine (Terry) Gaskill both of Tampico, Il. One aunt Helen Berge Chevillon of Canton, Ill and one uncle Homer Kepner of Walnut, Il.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She had been employed at the Macomb Kroger Store, General Telephone in Macomb and Kewanee and Hyster Co. in Kewanee. She was currently employed at Goldstar FS in Cambridge as the Administrative Assistant to the General Manager and would have received her twenty year service plaque this month.
She had been a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church where she played the piano. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kewanee where she sang in the Chancel Choir, served as a substitute pianist, was a deaconess and Youth Choir Director.
She had been a leader of the Wethersfield Plow Jockey 4-H Club for twenty seven years.
She loved her family and raising and showing purebred sheep.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. Monday, January 17, 2005 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Ron Toliver will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-4 P.M. Sunday, January 16th at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in the Wethersfield cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Wethersfield Plow Jockey 4-H Club, the Wethersfield High School FFA Chapter or the Tampico United Methodist Church.
Ryan F. Trimmer

Ryan Franklyn Trimmer, 24, of Kewanee, Il. died at 11:26 A.M. Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at his home. He was born November 29, 1980 in Princeton, Il. the son of Ronald F. and Mary E. (Gripe) Trimmer.
He was reared and educated in Buda and Oklahoma. He received his GED and CDL.
He was employed in the maintenance department at Brighton Industries in West Jersey.
Surviving are his parents of Kewanee, an infant daughter Madilynne Jayde Trimmer of Kewanee, four brothers Robert F. Barnes of Buda, Il., Ronald F. (Beth) Trimmer, Jr., Randall F. (Courtney) Trimmer and Richard F. (Amy) Trimmer all of Kewanee. Two sisters Merretta Lynn (Mrs. Toby) Fuller of Dahinda, Il. and Michelle Lee (Mrs. William) Smith of Kewanee. Maternal grandfather John Gripe of Missouri and maternal step grandfather George Hastings of Princeton, Il., numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, his maternal grandmother and one uncle.
He loved his daughter. He enjoyed fishing, electronics and drawing.
A Memorial service will be at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Dan Craig will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to the time of services on Sunday at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
Gilbert “Bud” J. Fishleigh

Gilbert “Bud” James Fishleigh, 86, of Kewanee died 8:32 A.M. Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at his home. He was born March 7, 1918 in Chicago Il, son of Walter and Laura Fishleigh. He married
Bertha Gerard June 3, 1944 in Chicago Il. She survives as well as one daughter Mrs. Patrick (Marilyn) Paxton of Denver, Iowa. 3 granddaughters survive Angela, Stephanie, Amanda, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers LeRoy Fishleigh of Florida, and Skip Fishleigh of California and one sister Arlene Falk of Florida. He was preceded in death by 1 brother.
He worked for 25 years at the Lilly Tulip Co. in Galva Il, then the Kewanee Boiler Shop. He then worked for the Kewanee Hospital, and finally was custodian for the Calvary Baptist Church.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Kewanee for 50 years, where he served as a Trustee, and head usher. He enjoyed gardening, baseball, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 15, 2005 at the Schueneman & Tumbleson funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Currier officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of services at the funeral Saturday. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memory Gardens cemetery Kewanee. Memorials to the Calvary Baptist Church of Kewanee.
George B. Dotson

George B. Dotson, 86, of Kewanee, Il. died at 7:00 A.M. , Friday, January 7, 2005 at his home.
He was born November 5, 1918 in Steele, Kentucky the son of Frank E. and Mary (Stump) Dotson. He was reared and educated in Feds Creek, Kentucky.
He married
Phyllis Brummond December 19, 1944 in Olympia, Washington. They moved to Kewanee in 1947 where he was employed by Sears. Skilled in electrical and appliance repair he owned and operated Dotson Appliance Repair in Kewanee for many years retiring in 1985.
Surviving is his wife, two sons Kit (Cheryl) Dotson of Nathrop, Colorado, Dr. Timothy (Susan) Dotson of Northbrook, Il. three grandchildren Erica, Jessica, and Geoffrey and two great grandchildren Toni and Lance. Also surviving are two brothers Robert and Harold Dotson and one sister Inez Blevins.
His parents, an infant daughter Mary Rose, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict serving in the Army medical corp. He was in charge of the motor pool at Camp Grant, Il. and was a motor pool instructor.
He was a member of Midland Country Club and was a member and past exalted ruler of the Kewanee Elks Lodge. He was a Blue Coat volunteer at Kewanee Hospital and had volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He was an avid numismatist and enjoyed golf, traveling and his dog Annie.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Wethersfield cemetery where the Kewanee Veterans Council will accord military honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Kewanee Hospital Foundation or the Foundation for Fighting Blindness.
Lawrence Tracy (Larry) Clark
Memorial services for Lawrence Tracy (Larry) Clark, 59, of Humble, TX, formerly of Galesburg, will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 876 E. Knox Street in Galesburg. The Rev. Kevin Teprow will officiate and those in attendance are invited to present oral or written tributes.

H. Deane Hornbaker, 91, of rural Monmouth, died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2003, in Community Medical Center, Monmouth. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and both wives. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, with Rev. Ralph Deming officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon Friday until the time of service with his family present for visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the memorial home. Burial will be in the Raritan cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Raritan Baptist Church.

Helen L. Cisna, 91, of the Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg, died at 12:07 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2003, in the care center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2003, at the Gladstone United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol Stufflebeam officiating. Friends may call at Turnbull Funeral Home in Biggsville on Sunday after noon. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends following the service. Interment will be in the Carman cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Gladstone United Methodist Church.

Donna J. Briggs Duhme, 72, of Maquoketa, IA, formerly of Alpha, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, in Trinity West Medical Center, Rock Island. Funeral services were held Thursday at Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa. Burial was in Andrew, Iowa, cemetery. A memorial service will be held later at Alpha. Memorials may be made to the Donna J. Briggs Duhme Memorial Fund.
Jack L. Parsons
Jack L. Parsons, 67, of Carmel, IN, passed away on July 30, 2003. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 2, at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Leppert & Hensley Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel, Carmel, IN. Burial will be in the Carmel cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.

Esther Mae Peterson, 85, of Decorah, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 25, 2003, at the Barthell Eastern Star Nursing Home in Decorah, Iowa. Funeral services for held Tuesday, July 29, at 11 a.m. in the Highland Lutheran Church, Spring Grove, MN, with Pastor David H. Andreae officiating. Casketbearers were Truman Clauson, Neil Clauson, Steve Peterson, Tim Clauson, Duane St. Mary and John Hanson. Organist was Shirley Groth with Mavis Arneson serving as soloist. Interment was in the Highland Lutheran cemetery. Mengis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 2 in the Roseville cemetery with Rev. Ken Muck officiating. No visitation is planned. Memorials may be made to the Monmouth Educational Foundation or to the donor's choice. Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, was in charge of arrangements.

Anna L. Gittings, 91, of Davenport, Iowa, died July 6, 2003, at Crest Health Care Center in Davenport. Funeral services were held July 10, 2003, at the Runge Mortuary in Davenport. Burial was in Terre Haute cemetery. Memorials may be made to Newcomb Presbyterian Church or Crest Health Care Center, both in Davenport, Iowa.

Delmar C. "Butch" Ward, 38, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, formerly of Keithsburg and Aledo, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Stuart, Florida. The body will be cremated. A private memorial service and burial will be held at a later date. Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo is in charge of the local arrangements. A memorial fund has been established and can be sent to the family.
