KEWANEE — Edna M. Prince, 85, of Kewanee, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Kewanee Hospital.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Dec. 21,1918 in Chicago, the daughter of Oliver and Mary Starr (Thorpe) Durrant. She married
Harry C. Prince June 7,1941 in Chicago.
He survives, as do two sons, Gregory (Joan) Prince of Russell, Pa. and Arthur Prince and his wife Bev Infante of Aurora, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Peter (Mary) Walsh of Dresden, Maine and Mrs. Larry (Susan) Nelson of Columbus, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Durrant of Elgin. Her parents and two brothers, John and Oliver, preceded her in death.
A homemaker, she was a member of First United Methodist Church of Kewanee, United Methodist Women, Clio Club and the Senior Center. She enjoyed music; piano, organ and her church choir, gardening, swimming, taking walks, traveling, cooking and baking and the Senior Center Kitchen Band. She also enjoyed continuing her education by taking classes at Black Hawk East College.
She enjoyed spending time with her family.
George E. Bisschop

KEWANEE — George E. Bisschop, 84, of Kewanee died Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee, Fla.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, the Rev. Fredi Gomez Torres officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Kewanee, with graveside military rites by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Memorials may be made to the Kewanee Hospital Hospice program.
He was born Aug. 15, 1919 in Kewanee, the son of Edward and Stephne (Ivaert) Bisschop. He married
Doris Leggett Oct. 15, 1940 in Kewanee. She preceded him in death in 1997. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank, and two sisters, Bertha and Alvera.
Surviving are two sons, Barry (Marji) Bisschop of Taylor Ridge and David (Beth) Bisschop of Kewanee; and two grandchildren, Aaron, and Megan.
He was reared and educated in Kewanee schools. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.
He worked for many years as a brick mason. He was a member of VFW Post 8078, St.* Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Flemish American Club, both in Kewanee.
Dolorita E. Otis

Dolorita E. Otis, 88, of Kewanee, died at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at Kewanee Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Virginia Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery, Kewanee. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m.. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Kewanee Senior Center or the Round Barn Association.
She was born Oct. 22, 1915, in rural Galva, the daughter of Albert E. and Elizabeth (Lockey) Doye. She married
Emnas C. Otis on Nov. 21, 1936 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He preceded her in death in April 1960.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Loren (Dianne) Lindstrom of Kewanee and Mrs. Jerry (Deanna) Lancaster of Rock Falls; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.
She graduated from Galva High School in 1933. She also graduated from beauty school and worked as a beautician prior to raising her family. She later worked as office secretary for the late Dr. Richard Terry in Kewanee and as a ward clerk at Geneseo Hospital and Kewanee Public Hospital, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Kewanee, Kewanee Senior Center and the Kewanee Artist's Association. She was a charter member of the Ryan's Round Barn Association at Johnson Sauk Trail State Park. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery work, cooking, music and spending time with her family.
Wilmer J. Swan

Wilmer Jack Swan, 73, of Deming, N.M. and formerly of Toulon and Kewanee, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at Minbres Memorial Hospital in Deming.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Kewanee. Rev. Dr. Kevin Siscoe will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, rural Kewanee, where the Kewanee Veterans Council will accord military honors. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the Kewanee Lions Club.
He was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Toulon, the son of Guy and Blanch (Robinson) Swan. He married
Karen Filley June 5, 1999, in Kewanee. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Bruce Swan of Kewanee; six daughters, Dian Walter of Wilmington, Calif., Debbie Martin of Waynesville, Ill., Brenda Bodwin of Belmont, Mich, Terrie O'Leary of Charlotte, N.C., Judee DeVries of Caledonia, Mich., and Julie Voss of Medina, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Dean Swan of Sioux Falls, S.D., Jerry Swan of Kewanee and Michael Swan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He was reared and educated in Kewanee and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed for 35 years at Kewanee Machinery and Conveyor, retiring in 1991.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kewanee, a past president and long time secretary for the Kewanee Lions Club and was currently serving as the president of the Deming Lions Club. He and his wife moved to Deming last year. He enjoyed playing golf. He also clerked auctions for Col. Dave Williams and the late Col. Wayne Hier in Kewanee.
Betty M. Medearis

Betty M. Medearis, 77, of LaFayette, died at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at Kewanee Care Home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the National cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Rev. Dan Craig will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the LaFayette Fire Department. Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Kewanee, the daughter of Carl and Hazel (Brown) Eklof. She married
George Medearis Sept. 13, 1944, in Kewanee. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 1998.
Surviving is a son, Georgie L. Medearis of LaFayette, with whom she resided; a daughter Mrs. Bernard (Margola) Westerhof of Davenport; three grandchildren, Dennis, Rachel and Stephanie; three great-granddaughters; three sisters, Erma Hultgren of Kewanee, Beverly Stahl of Pekin, and Barbara Clarke of Princeville; and one brother, J. Eklof of Puerto Rico.
Her parents; one son, Gary E. Medearis; and a grandson also preceded her in death.
She was reared and educated in Kewanee and was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Doris B. Johnson

Doris Bonar Johnson, 89, of Palm Coast, FL, and formerly of Kewanee, died Wednesday October 20, 2004 in Palm Coast.
Funeral services will be at 1:30pm Monday, October 25 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. The Rev. Dr. James Breed will officiate. Burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetary. Visitation will be from noon to time of services Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born July 24, 1915 in Kewanee, the daughter of William E. and Laura F. (Wiley) Ray. She was married
to Hugh S. Bonar and Donald L. Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death. A brother, Burton W. Ray, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Wilma Ray of Palm Coast and Florence L. Hungate of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Willis E. (Marvel) Ray of Palm Coast; a sister-in-law, Janet Ray of Champaign; and nine nieces and nephews.
She attended Wethersfield schools and earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Illinois. She taught home economics in Altona, Galva, Wethersfield and Joliet, and retired after 42 years of teaching from Largo, FL schools.
She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church of Largo, where she was an elder and deacon. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames, XVII Century.

Elisa Andrea Munoz, twenty month old daughter of Leticia Munoz and Ramon Martinez of Kewanee, Il. died at 12:48 A.M. Monday, October 25, 2004 at her home.
She was born February 23, 2003 in Kewanee.
Surviving are her parents. Her maternal grandparents Jose and Emelyne Munoz and her paternal grandparents Ramon and Soledad Martinez all of Kewanee. Her maternal great grandmother Elpidia Valdivia of Kewanee and maternal great grandfather Thomas Roche of Sterling, Il. And her paternal great grand mother Christina Reyes of Mexico.
Numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins also survive.
A Mass of the Angels will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 28, 2004 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Kewanee. Revs. Robert Prendergast and Fredi Gomez Torres will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet cemetery, Kewanee. Visitation will be from 4-7 P. M. Wednesday October 27th at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home in Kewanee where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M.

Ester M. Nepomuceno, 93, of Kewanee, Il. died at 5:49 A.M. November 2, 2004 at Kewanee Care Home. She was born January 19, 1911 in the Philippines the daughter of Feliciano and Benita (Santos) Nepomuceno. She was a pharmacist and social worker in the Philippines.
Surviving is a son Will (Zenaida) Coronado of Daly City , California and a daughter Dr. Myrna and Dr. Renato Parungao of Kewanee, Il. Five grandchildren Allan, Sherwin and Jennifer Parungao, Paul Coronado and Zara Estabillo.
Her husband and a brother preceded her in death.
Private services will be Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Rev. Chris Haake of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Kewanee will officiate. There will be no visitation. Entombment will be in SkyLawn Memorial Park cemetery in San Mateo, California on November 10, 2004.
