Dennis L. Oliphant, 56, of Monmouth, died Friday, August 15, 2003, at 9:40 p.m. in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. A graveside service for committal of ashes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2003, at Warren County Memorial Park cemetery with Rev. Ken Muck officiating. Cremation has been accorded. Interment of ashes will follow the graveside service. His family plans to receive friends at Turnbull Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund is being established for his children's educational fund.

Jerry B. Myers

Jerry B. Myers, 35, of Abingdon, died at 4:23 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2003, in Cottage Hospital, Galesburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2003, in the Avon United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Monday, at Corman Memorial Home, Avon. Burial will be in the Avon cemetery. Memorial contributions may be left for an educational trust for Jacob at Tompkins State Bank.

Ruth Ann Harvey

Ruth Ann Harvey, 71, of Peoria, died at 10:13 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2003, in Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home, Stronghurst. Burial will be in the Stronghurst cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. this evening, Monday, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Stronghurst Ambulance Service.

Wayne L. Waddill

Wayne L. Waddill, 87, of Fort Madison, Iowa, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2003, in the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2003, in the Stronghurst Christian Church with Rev. John Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Glade City cemetery in Blandinsville. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund has been established.

Albert C. Yarde

Albert C. Yarde, 86, of Galesburg, formerly of rural Alexis, died Sunday, August 31, 2003, in Rosewood Care Center. Graveside services were held Thursday at East Linwood cemetery, Galesburg, with the Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating. Memorials may be made to his church or Community Hospices of America. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel handled arrangements.

Helen McCready

Helen McCready, 91, of New Windsor, died Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at the Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Funeral services were held Saturday at New Windsor Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Joyce Basler officiating. Burial was in Hopewell cemetery, rural New Windsor. A memorial fund was established. Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home, Alpha, handled arrangements.

Wayne D. "Pudgy" Wilson

Wayne D. "Pudgy" Wilson, 69, rural Cameron, died at 3:42 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2003, in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial was in Silent Home cemetery, Cameron. Memorials can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Bonnie Schimtz

Bonnie Schimtz, 67, of Stronghurst, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, September 21, 2003, in the University of Iowa Hopsitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003, in the Banks and Beals Funeral Home, Stronghurst, with Rev. George Knox officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Banks and Beals where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Southern High School Booster Club and the Susie G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Fund at Peoria.

Leah D. Breckon, 84, of rural Blandinsville, formerly of rural Roseville, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2003, at the family home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb, with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program.

Martha Lois Terpening

Martha Lois Terpening, 87, of Monmouth, died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2003, at the Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, with Rev. Paul Lydic of the Gerlaw Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Gerlaw cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday at the memorial chapel in Monmouth, where her family will be present from 1 to 2 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Gerlaw Christian Church or the Strom Center in Monmouth.

Geraldine "Gerry" Shimmin, 79, of Monmouth, passed away at the Marigold Nursing Home, Galesburg, at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2003. Arrangements are pending with Turnbull Funeral Home, Monmouth.

Ruth E. Larson, 95, of Rio, died Thursday October 2, 2003, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Rio Presbyterian Church with the Reverend David Dennis officiating. Burial will be in the Woodhull cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church where memorials may be left to Rio Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are being handled by Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull.

Frances E. Brown, 84, of Galesburg and formerly of Oquawka, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 7 p.m. at the Rozetta Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Dyson officiating. A private family graveside service was held July 30, 2003, in the Oquawka cemetery with Rev. Larry Dyson officiating. A memorial has been established for the Rozetta Baptist Church.

Dorothy M. Voss

Dorothy M. Voss, 80, of Benicia, California, passed away Monday, September 29, 2003, at a Benicia hospital after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 5 at 4 p.m. at the Community Congregational Church in California, with Pastor Roger Straw officiating. Internment will be in Oakwood cemetery, Dixon, IL, at a later date. Local arrangements are under the direction of Passalacqua Funeral Chapel.

Clara Schultz, 89, of Monmouth, passed away at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, on Friday, October 3, 2003, at 1:50 a.m. Arrangements are pending with Turnbull Funeral Home, Monmouth.

Walter E. "Red" Medhurst

Walter E. "Red" Medhurst, 77, of Alexis, died at 4:25 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2003, at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg. Arrangements are pending at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis.

Junadel E. Donaldson

Junadel E. Donaldson, 71, of Ft. Meyers, Florida and formerly of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2003, at her home, as a result of Myelodysplastic Syndrome. A memorial service was held in Ft. Meyers on August 3, and a memorial service was also held in LaCrosse on August 7. Burial was August 8 at Mt Vernon cemetery in Hillsboro, Wisconsin.

Bernice Trojaniak

Bernice Trojaniak, 81, of Carlinville, formerly of Benld, died at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Carlinville Area Hospital. Visitation was at the Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld on August 6. A memorial mass was held at 10:30 a.m. on August 6 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Benld. Burial was in the Benld City cemetery.

Todd Callihan

Todd Callihan, 37, of Little York, died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at Turnbull Funeral Home, Monmouth.

Cremation will be accorded following the service.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at the funeral home, where his family plans to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.

A memorial is being established.

Nels S. Westlund, 90, formerly of the Terre Haute community, died at 4:20 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2004, in the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center, Stronghurst.

Arrangements are pending at Banks & Beals Funeral Home, Stronghurst.

Waymon A. Stickland

Waymon A. "Ray" Stickland, 78, of Monmouth, passed away at 11:08 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2006, at Community Medical Center in Monmouth. Arrangements are pending with Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth.

Sheila A. Goodwin

A funeral service for Sheila A. Goodwin was conducted by Pastor Ken Muck at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2006, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment was in the Monmouth cemetery. Pallbearers were James Underwood II, David Underwood, Jesse Hare, Corey Goodwin, Scott Goodwin and Tony Martin.
