Wilson B. Hubbard

QUINCY, Ill. - Wilson B. Hubbard, 88, of the Illinois Veterans' Home, Quincy, Ill., and formerly of West Point, Ill., died at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, in the Veterans' Home.
He was born June 22, 1916, in Colusa, Ill., the son of George W. and Florence M. Blythe Hubbard.
He married
Opal Waneta Heaton on July 6, 1940, in Kahoka, Mo. She preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 1978. He then married
Marian Louise Philp Becker on Aug. 22, 1981, in Burlington. She preceded him in death on May 26, 1997.
He graduated from Colusa High School, Colusa, Ill.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He loved farming and farmed in the West Point area for about 25 years. He was a leader for several years for the St. Albans Pioneer 4-H Club.
He was a member of the Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Sutter, Ill.
Survivors include: three sons, Howard G. Hubbard and his wife, Sharon, of Hull, Ill., Martin S. Hubbard and his wife, Jane, of Jesup, and James W. Hubbard of Stillwell, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Leona Byers and her husband, Jim, of Burlington; two stepsons, Ross Becker of Bonaparte, and Joe Becker of Burlington; a sister, Thelma Edstrom of Billings, Mont.; 11 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Howard; three brothers, Raymond, Wesley and Quentin Hubbard; and two sisters, Mabel Specht and Esther Mae Yocum.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage, Ill., with the Rev. Terry Rankin officiating.
Burial will be in the Bethlehem Church cemetery.
Visitation is today at the funeral home, with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
A memorial has been established for the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
Dorothy Marie Martin

EAST PEORIA, Ill. - Dorothy Marie Martin, 90, of East Peoria, Ill., formerly of Morton, Ill., died at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1914, in Nauvoo, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Ada Pilkerton Christy.
She married
Howard I. Martin on June 17, 1931. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1989.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Donald, a brother, and a sister.
Survivors include: her daughter-in-law with whom she made her home, Janet Martin, of East Peoria; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She worked in the cafeteria at East Peoria High School before retiring. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in East Peoria. She attended Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Sunset Memorial Park, Keokuk.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Timothy F. Peters

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Timothy F. Peters, 40, of San Antonio, Texas, and formerly of Hamilton, Ill., died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in his home.
He was born on March 16, 1964, in Quincy, Ill., the son of Linda Ruhs Rose and Harold Peters.
He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1982. He attended college and worked in several cities. He obtained culinary art/hotel management degrees in St. Louis and Houston, Texas.
Most recently, he was employed as a chef at Sea World Resort in San Antonio.
He loved to cook, read and enjoyed life. He was loved and will be missed.
Survivors include: his mother of Hamilton; his father and stepmother, Harold and Joan Peters of Alexandria, Mo.; three brothers, Vic Peters of Columbia, Mo., Virgil Peters and his wife, Linda, of Quincy, and Brad Peters and his wife, Sara, of Hudson, Ill.; a sister, Valarie Schonarth of Quincy; his grandmothers, Mary Ruhs of Hamilton, and Mayme Peters of Quincy; and many aunts, uncles and cousins, including Nancy Ruhs Gray and her husband, Phil, and Paul Gray of Tulsa, Okla.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton.
Visitation with family is after 5 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.

The Rev. James Albert Coffman
LIBERTY, Tenn. - The Rev. James Albert Coffman, 91, of Liberty, Tenn., died Thursday, April 23, 2009, following an extended illness.
A native of Hamilton, Ill., he was the son of the late George Earl and Jesse Edith Coffman.
Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Coffman of Smithville, Tenn.; two daughters, Deanna Kaiser of Gassaway, Tenn., and Judith Fawcett of Lake City, Fla.; and two stepdaughters, Carol Ann Rankin of Davenport and Nancy Leffler of Warsaw, Ill.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
He was a minister in Illinois and Florida. He also was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Illinois.
Alexander Nagy

WARSAW, Ill. - Alexander Nagy, 82, of Warsaw, Ill., died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1926, in Hungary, the son of Imre and Elisabeth Bozsa Nagy.
He married
Elisabeth Eordogh on May 10, 1953 in Keokuk. She survives in Warsaw.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Graveside memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, in Oakland cemetery, Warsaw, Ill.
The family will meet with friends following the graveside service at The Warsaw Brewery banquet room.
Memorials have been established for Hancock County Blessing Hospice.

CHICAGO - Melvin B. Bullard, 83, died at 6:05 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, in Season's Hospice Unit, Weiss Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
He was born on Jan. 22, 1926, in Warsaw, Ill., the son of Benjamine and Elsie Murry Bullard.
He was a graduate of Warsaw High School.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was a graduate of Bradley College in Peoria, Ill.
He retired from U.S. Gypsum.
Survivors include: an aunt, Arloween (Rolland) Johnson of Clayton, Ill., and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Patrick; his grandparents; and aunts and uncles.
His body was cremated.
A private burial will be held at a later date.

WASHINGTON, Ill. - Phyllis Ruth Connell, 63, of Washington, Ill., died at 10:05 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.
She was born on May 17, 1945, in Hamilton, Ill., the daughter of Eddie and Ina A. (Cooper) Richardson.
She married
Joseph Edward Connell on March 26, 1965, in East Moline, Ill. He survives.
Additional survivors include: two daughters, Tonya (Michael) Wileman of Washington and Sandi (Ryan) Payne of Sikeston, Mo.; a son, Layne (Michelle) Connell of Normal, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren, Megan, Brodie, Brock, Ashley, Victor, Jack, Kati, Lara, John and Nattiah.
She also is survived by her siblings, Alice (Dwight) Martin of Warsaw, Ill., Eddie Keith (Ginger) Richardson of Hamilton, Barb (Kenny) Weller of Hamilton, James (Cheryl Jean) Richardson of Hamilton, Norman (Viv) Richardson of Warsaw, Joseph (Linda) Richardson of Wayland, Mo., Kathy (Alan) Rose of Keokuk, Karen (Joseph) Hayden of Las Vegas, Nev., and Sharon (Chuck) Huston of Hannibal, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by a son, Daren Lane Connell, and her parents.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Her favorite pastimes were playing bingo and lottery and chatting on the phone with her relatives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lamporte - St. Clair Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Hamilton.
