SAVANNA -- Esther Marie Haskett Reagan, 95, of Savanna died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004. She had been a resident at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Center in Mount Carroll.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Savanna.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Donations may be made in Esther Reagan's name to
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or the Freeport Health Network Hospice.
Paul O. Becker
MOUNT CARROLL -- Paul O. Becker, 90, of Mount Carroll died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Community United Church of Christ in Savanna. Inurnment will be prior to the service in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll.
A memorial fund has been established for the University of Iowa Eye Clinic, Iowa City.

FREEPORT -- Isaac Hall, Jr., 26, of Freeport died early Sunday morning, Nov. 7, 2004, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport.
Menten M. Larson
PECATONICA -- Menten M. Larson, 84, of Pecatonica died at 11:25 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, in his home after a short illness.
Born June 14, 1920, in rural Pecatonica, he was the son of Arthur and Gertrude (Kanzler) Larson. He was married to the former Kathryn A. Anders on Oct. 3, 1945, in St. Mary's Parish, Rockford. She died May 3, 2003.
Menten was a self-employed farmer and lifelong resident of rural Pecatonica. He attended Avy Grade School and graduated from Pecatonica High School, where he was active in sports.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pecatonica, Pecatonica Historical Society, Winnebago County Farm Bureau and Irish Grove Poker Club. He was former director of Town and Country Mutual Insurance, Pecatonica Produce and Supply, a former trustee of Pecatonica Fire Protection District, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. An avid Cubs fan, he enjoyed taking trips and time spent with his family. He was the third generation to operate his family's farm. Menten served as a "resource center" for historical information about the Pecatonica community.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Dr. James) Damos of Merrimac, Wis., and Margaret (Steve) Schulze of Pecatonica; three sons, Larry (Sandy) Larson of Pecatonica, David (Ann) Larson of Middleton, Wis., and Tom (Angela) Larson of Pecatonica; nine grandchildren, Jennifer and Tim Damos, Andy and Eric Larson, Audrey, Beth and Emily Larson, and Lucas and Laura Schulze; one brother, Merle "Baldy" (Lorraine) Larson of Pecatonica; five nieces and nephews; and special friend, Mary Saxby.
Services begin with prayers at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kenneth L. Countryman Funeral Home, 529 Washington St., Pecatonica. There will be a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pecatonica, with Rev. Robert Sweeney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Pecatonica.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with prayer services at 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial funds are established for the St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund in Pecatonica, and FHN Hospice in Freeport.
Milton D. Stewart
PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Funeral services for Milton D. Stewart, 82, of Phoenix will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hermann Funeral Home, Stockton, preceded by a one-hour visitation. Burial will be in Ladies Union Cemetery, Stockton.

Edward R. Tegl
PHOENIX -- Edward R. Tegl, 73, a resident of Phoenix since 1962, entered into rest on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004.
He was born Nov. 30, 1930, in Freeport, the son of Frank and Mary (Kromholz) Tegl.
A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Tegl was a cost account at Honeywell, he retired in 1989.
Ed was an avid sports fan, golf being his favorite sport.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Gertrude; a son, Thomas (Mo) Tegl; his daughter, Tracey (Michael) Snyder; grandchildren; Yvonne Ung, Leeana Tegl, Ashley and Nathan Snyder; a sister, Margaret in Illinois; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road, which has been entrusted with the arrangements. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the mortuary with Eucharist Minister Paul J. Walsh officiating. Interment will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

Pamela A. Mitchell
MONROE, Wis. -- Pamela Ann Mitchell, age 31, of Monroe, Wis., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at her residence.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1973, the daughter of Gilbert and Sharon (small) Mitchell at Lake Forest. After graduating from Orangeville High School in 1991, and attended Viterbo College, Highland Community College and Blackhawk Technical College.
Pamela was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe, Monroe Noon optimists, Phi Theta Kappa and enjoyed her cat, Tigger.
Surviving are her parents, Gil and Sharon Mitchell of McConnell; her grandmothers, Alma Miller of Iron Mountain, Mich., and Vera Small of Lake Forest; one sister, Julie (Dan) Davis of Orangeville; and a niece, Megan Davis of Orangeville.
Preceding Pamela in death were her brother, Michael John Mitchell; and grandfathers, Earl Small, Charles Mitchell and Fred Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe with Father Michael E. Klarer and Monsignor Thomas F. Campion con-celebrating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Ave. in Monroe.
Memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Green County Humane society in Pamela's memory.
Martha E. Law
CINCINNATI -- Martha E. Law, 68, of Cincinnati, formerly of Savanna, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 4 at Hyde Park Community Methodist Church in Cincinnati.

Carmen J. Cali
FREEPORT -- Carmen J. Cali, 86, of Freeport died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 5, 1918, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Tomaso and Carmella Bartelone Cali. On Sept. 8, 1946, Carmen and Minnie Dimodica were married in Freeport.
For more than 40 years, from 1940 to 1980, Mr. Cali worked at the Kroger grocery.
A veteran, he served in the Army Air Corps from Nov. 17, 1941 to his discharge in October 1946.
His memberships included St. Mary Catholic Church, Men's Sacred Heart Society of St. Mary's, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and he was a lifelong Cubs fan.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie Cali of Freeport; one son, Michael (Lucy) Cali of Freeport; one brother, Tony (Bernice) Cali of Freeport; three sisters, Rose (Nat) Gagliardi of Detroit, Rosalie Kerr of Freeport and Jean Campbell of North Carolina; and two granddaughters, Virginia "Gina" and Angela Cali of Freeport.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Phillip; one brother, Causim; and one sister, Mary.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Burt H. Absalon, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home.

Virginia F. Landgraf
FREEPORT -- Virginia F. "Fern" Landgraf, 81, of Freeport died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.
Born Aug. 7, 1923, in Grand Prairie, Texas, she was the daughter of John T. and Nancy F. (Blehm) Williams. Virginia married Robert L. Landgraf on April 20, 1946, in Freeport.
Surviving are her husband, Robert of Freeport; son, Robert M. Landgraf of Woodland Park, Colo.; daughter, Rebecca J. (John) Snyder of Hastings, Pa.; three grandchildren, Amanda (Rick) Smith of Nanty-Glo, Pa., and Jesse and Jacob Snyder of Hastings.
Her parents and two infant siblings preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Walker Mortuary with Tom Hoefle officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Walker Mortuary.
Memorial funds have been established for Stephenson County Senior Center and Stephenson Nursing Center.
Lawrence Fordyce
FREEPORT -- Lawrence Thomas Fordyce, 66, of Freeport died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Freeport Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
He was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Lawrence and Anna Mae Fordyce.
Mr. Fordyce was employed in janitorial maintenance and was a member of A.R.M. and A.A.
Survivors include his daughter, Ginger Lobb, and her three children, Brandon, Hunter and Cara of Louisville, Ky.; one son, Gary Fordyce and family of Fort Worth, Texas; two nieces, Desi (Spencer) Toepfer and Lori (Dennis) Peters of Bourbonnais; and all his brothers in A.R.M.
His parents and a brother, Doug Fordyce, died previously.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of Darryl Wilson, 1947 S. 18th Ave., Freeport. All family and friends are welcome to attend.

Bernice L. Gorda
FREEPORT -- Bernice L. Gorda, 92, of Freeport, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born June 30, 1912, in rural Davis, she was the daughter of Frank and Ora (Dreakey) Ashenfelter. She married Eldred E. Daniel. He preceded her in death. She married Charles Bailey, who also preceded her in death. Her former husband was Floyd Gorda.
She owned and operated Gorda's Beauty Salon.
Her memberships include Embury United Methodist Church and Friends Forever Humane Society.
Surviving are her sister, Fern Tielkemeier; niece, Joyce Tielkemeier; and nephew, Marsden (Karen) Tielkemeier, all of Pecatonica; stepson, Don (Velma) Bailey of Springfield; two grandnieces; one grandnephew; and numerous great-grandnieces and -nephews.
Her parents; husbands; and sister preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Walker Mortuary with the Rev. D. Robin Benson of Embury United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will be at Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until time of service at Walker Mortuary.

Fern I. Hite
SOUTH WAYNE, Wis. -- Fern I. Hite 76, of rural South Wayne, Wis., passed away early Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, following a battle with cancer at the Southwest Nursing Center in Cuba City, Wis.
Fern was born Jan. 8, 1928, the daughter of Grant and Martha (Broge) Voss of Freeport. She married Thomas L. Hite on Dec. 27, 1947.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas; two daughters, Deborah (Keith) Dieter of Cuba City and Linda (Rick) Cass of Mount Morris; one son, Steve Hite of Louisville, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Evelyn (Merwyn) Ellis; one brother, Alvin Voss who was MIA in the attack on Pearl Harbor; and nieces and nephews.
No funeral services are planned. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date at LaDue Cemetery near South Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Lafayette County Hospice of Darlington, Wis., or in care of Benjamin Lansing, a 5-year-old grandnephew who is undergoing chemotherapy, at 7856 County Road N, Almond WI 53909.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
