Robert J. Himlin, 60, of 204 W. Grove, died 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, at his residence.
Born January 6, 1944, in Newark, New Jersey, the son of Robert B. and Catherine Hehn Himlin, he married Cheryl L. Good on August 14, 1976, in Wyoming., Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother of Wyoming., Illinois; one son, Chad R. Himlin, of Peoria, Illinois; two daughters, Pamela J. (Dave) McWilliams, of South Pekin, Illinois, and Catherine M. (Tim) Wolfe, of North Pekin, Illinois; one brother, Richard (Mindy) Himlin, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death.
He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 35 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Wyoming., where funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2004. Reverend Robert Rayson will officiate. Visitation was from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Wyoming. Funeral Home, Wyoming., with recitation of rosary at 4 p.m. Burial was in St. Dominic’s Cemetery, Wyoming..

M. Anita Hennessey, 91, of Bradford, Illinois died at 12:55 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Toulon Health Care Center. She was born April 1, 1912, in Bradford, the daughter of Fred and Julia Davison. She married John F. Hennessey on July 11, 1940 in Bradford. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1991.
She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Hennessey, of Bradford, Illinois, and Bernadette Enos, of Toulon, Illinois; one niece, Mary Ann Tulley, of Bloomington, Illinois; five nephews, and one great niece.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Rose Maupin.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bradford and Altar & Rosary Society.
She worked as a beautician in Bradford for many years.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, 2004, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Bradford with Father Robert Rayson officiating. Visitation was from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford, Illinois. Burial was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.

Karl H. Rausch, 87, of Stockton, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Freeport Memorial Hospital. He was born January 18, 1917 in Minneapolis, Minnesota., the son of Jacob and Sadie (Munson) Rausch. He married Betty Houy on June 10, 1947.
He graduated from the University of Minnesota.. He was a member of the 8th Army Air Force 445th Bomber Group. He worked as a manager for Kraft Foods for 37 years in Galena, Toulon and Stockton.
He was active in the community, serving on the Highland Community College Board for 19 years, past president of the Blackhawk Area Council of Boy Scouts and had received the Silver Beaver Award, 54 year member of area Masonic Lodges and enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by his wife Betty, three sons, Jake (Cathie) Rausch, of Palatine, Illinois, Bill Rausch, of Savanna, Illinois, Allen (Lori) Rausch, of Rockford, Illinois; one daughter Marianna “Trudy” Anderson, of Rockford, Illinois; four grandchildren Mistie Anderson, T. J. Anderson, Katherine Rausch, and Victoria Rausch; two brothers Arthur (Jean) Rausch, of Phoenix, Arizona and Alvin (Janet) Rausch, of Elgin, Illinois; brother-in-law Neal Bredester, of Minneapolis, Minnesota. and one sister Verna Rausch, of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Alma, Dorothy and Elaine.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. March 13, at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, Illinois. Visitation was from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, March 12 at the Funeral Home.
A memorial fund has been established.
John W. O’Donnell, 81, of 405 W. Snyder St., died at 4:25 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2004, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg.
He was born on November 8, 1922 in Avon, Illinois, to Matthew and Elizabeth Clark O’Donnell. He married Shirley W. White on June 5, 1943, in Kahoka, Missouri. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis (Patricia) O’Donnell, of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Donnie (Aleta) O’Donnell, of Abingdon; two daughters, Mary JoAnna O’Donnell (address unknown) and Merrilyn Johnson, of Abingdon; one brother, Barney (Rita) O’Donnell, of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Gert Bent, of Galesburg; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, Thomas Eugene O’Donnell infant twin grandsons.
He grew up in Avon and graduated from Avon High School. He served in the Army Medical Corps from 1940 until 1941.
He was a car salesman in the Abingdon and Galesburg areas for many years and later worked as a security guard for NAEIR company in Galesburg retiring in 1995.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon.
He was a member of Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 in Abingdon.
Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Presley officiating. Visitation was from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Cremation followed the mass and burial will be at a later date in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery.
He was the grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather to Matt and Suzanne (Carroll) Wilson, of Wyoming., Illinois, and their family.

Marian L. Potter, 62, of 428 N. Lincoln Drive, Howards Grove, died Sunday evening, March 7, 2004 at Meadow View Manor Nursing Home.
Marian was born June 19, 1941, in Bradford, Illinois to Oscar C. and Mabel Maude (Moffit) Wright. She was a graduate of Bradford High School class of 1959 and was employed at a bank in Peoria, Illinois for a few years before enrolling in Kansas City Business College. It was there that she met and married Ed Potter. They were united in marriage on October 4, 1964, in Bradford, Illinois, at the Boyd’s Grove Methodist Church.
Ed and Marian lived in Kansas City for the next ten years. While there, she worked on caring for her family and was active in Cub Scouts, PTA and church activities.
The family later moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where they lived for the next ten years. Marian began working as Head Cook at a neighborhood junior high school, and she was also active in Cub Scouts and PTA work.
It was during this time that she was diagnosed as having Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma) and started her twenty-five year battle with this disease. The family then moved to Howard’s Grove, Wisconsin, where she joined and was active at Faith Methodist Church until she was not physically able to attend.
In addition to her husband Ed, Marian is survived by three sons, Thad Allen (Peggy) Potter, of Manhattan, Kansas, Brian Todd (Mimi) Potter, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Kevin Ross Potter of Sheboygan; two grandchildren Chase and Lucy; two brothers Neal (Nina) Wright, of Monticello, Illinois, and Gene (Jane) Wright of Sand Point, Idaho; and other relatives and friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents.
It was Marian’s wish to be cremated and her remains will be laid to rest in Clinton, Missouri, in the family plot.
Memorial Services will be held at Boyd’s Grove Methodist Church in Bradford, Illinois on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 11a.m.
A memorial fund has been established in Marian’s name.
Marian maintained a wonderful outlook on life and did not let her disease dampen her love for people and life. She will be sadly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Donald G. Streitmatter, 73, of Princeville, died at 11a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Born July 1, 1930, in Stark County, Illinois, the son of Jeff and Martha Siebenthal Streitmatter, Sr., he married Mary Lou Meyer on June 26, 1960, in Lester, Iowa.
She survives, along with three daughters, Donna (Kimm) Smith, of Bloomington, Illinois, Ema Streitmatter, of Bloomington, Illinois, and Anne (Craig) Thistlethwaite, of Lake Zurich, Illinois, two sons, Jim (Sheri) Streitmatter, of Kewanee, Illinois, and Mark (Sara) Streitmatter, of Bloomington, Illinois; eight grandchildren; five sisters, Lucille Beyer, of Peoria, Sylvia (Wilmer) Blunier, of Roanoke, Illinois, Doris Rocke, of Sarasota, Florida, Geraldine Streitmatter of Princeville, and Shirley Kieser of Princeville, three brothers, Paul (Mary) Streitmatter of Peoria, Jeff, Jr. (Ruth) of Sarasota, Florida, and Alf (Ginny), of Princeville; many nieces and nephews. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
He worked for Foster Jacobs Electrical Contractors in Peoria for five years. In 1960, he and his brothers founded Economy Builders and Supply Company. He retired in 1988. He was a board member at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home, Eureka, and also a board member at Apostolic Christian Skylines, Inc, Peoria.
He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Princeville, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004. Ministers of the church will officiate. Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m., then 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, 304 N Walnut Ave., Princeville, and also from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at church on Thursday. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was always willing to help others, and he will be greatly missed.
Monica - Bret A. Stichling, 44, of Monica, died at 1:15 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2004, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinic, Iowa City, IA.
Born January 25, 1960, in Peoria, Illinois, he was the son of Theodore Harry and Sandra Granko Stichling.
Surviving are his mother, Sandra Stichling, of Princeville, Illinois; one brother, Brian W. Stichling, of Princeville, Illinois; and five step-children. His father and grandparents preceded him in death.
He worked for Long Rock Trucking Company, Princeville. He was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau, and he attended Monica United Methodist Church.
Private family graveside services were held at Princeville Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Princeville – Vera M. Campbell, 88, 14719 N Mendenhall Rd., died at 8:48 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at her residence.
Born June 18, 1915, near Alta, Illinois, the daughter of Waring and Dorothy Trigger Carver, she married Robert E. Campbell on August 20, 1932, in Alta. He died August 22, 1999, at home. Also preceding her in death were an infant son and two brothers.
Surviving is one daughter Rebecca (Don) May, of Princeton, Illinois; two sons, Murray (Patricia) Campbell, of rural Dunlap, Illinois; and Robert Jr, (Barb) Campbell, of Dunlap; one sister, Irene Calmer, of California; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She attended the Illinois State Normal Teacher’s College in Normal, Illinois, earning an elementary teaching certificate. She taught in several one-room schools for four years. She later was a substitute teacher at Wilder-Waite, Mossville, and Dunlap Grade Schools for 20 years retiring in 1973. She was the fourth-generation of the Trigger family to own the family farm, “Idylwood”, south of Dunlap, where her son, Murray, now lives. In 1993, the farm was designated a “Centennial Farm”, having been in the Trigger family since 1857.
She was a member of the former Alta Presbyterian Church, transferring her membership to the First Presbyterian Church, Princeville, after moving to Mendenhall Rd in 1953. She was a charter member of the Historical Association of Princeville.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce officiated. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2004, and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Dunlap.

Monica - Bret A. Stichling, 44, of Monica, died at 1:15 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2004, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinic, Iowa City, IA.

Princeville - Fred W. Cowling, 79, of Princeville, died at 9:37 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2004, at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois.
Born April 2, 1925, in Denver, Colorado, the son of William John and Katherine Krueger Cowling, he married Joanne M. Jackson on February 2, 1952, in Chillicothe, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Joanne (Mike) Dickerson of Princeville, and Viola (Glenn) Krause of Mason City, Illinois; two sons, Rodney D. Cowling, of LaFayette, Indiana, and Freddie J. Cowling, of Delavan, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Neal (Bonnie) Cowling, of Frederick Town, Missouri. His parents, one sister and one brother preceded him in death.
He was a World War II Army Veteran, serving for 11 years, receiving a Purple Heart from being wounded from shrapnel, causing eventual blindness in 1974. He worked for Irons Company in Chillicothe and later he was a truck driver for R. Cox & Son Lumber Company in Princeville until 1974.
Graveside military rites were at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois, conducted by Moline American Legion Post 246. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. The family received friends on Wednesday following the graveside service at 213 W. Evans, Princeville.

Wyoming. - Arlo D. Bernard, 80, of 112 E. Williams, died at 12:25 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at his residence.
Born November 12, 1923, in Castleton, Illinois, the son of Fred and Gladys Harbin Bernard, he married Gleynafa Noret on June 13, 1951, in Randolph, Arkansas. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Arla (Ray) Blocher, of Rainier, Washington, and Jeri (Tom) Candor, of Cameron, Illinois; five grandchildren; two sisters, Jennie Smith and Maudie (Dale) Yelton, both of Wyoming., Illinois. His parents, one son, John Douglas Bernard, one brother, and one sister preceded him in death.
He was a World War II Navy Veteran, and a member of the Wyoming. American Legion Post #91. He worked as a mechanic for Jackson Sales & Service in Wyoming. for many years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or funeral services.
