She was also preceded in death by one brother.
Surviving are one son, David (and Linda) of Phoenix, AZ; two grandsons; one great-grandson; two great-granddaughters; and one brother, Duane Ward of Florida.
She and her husband farmed in the Wyoming. area for 38 years.
She was a member of Christian Science Church in Kewanee.
Cremation has been accorded, and graveside services with burial of ashes will be at 1pm, Tuesday (3/6) at Wyoming. Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Wyoming. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Walter Pickering - (Wyoming.) - Walter M. Pickering, 92, of 100 N. Galena Ave. died at 8:40pm Wednesday, Feb.28, 2001, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Born July 28, 1908, in Toulon Township, Stark County, to George W. and Mary Stuphen Pickering, he married Ruth Williamson on Aug.6, 1935, in Indiana. She died Nov.11, 1998, in Kewanee.
He also was preceded in death by one grandson, three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce (Mrs. Jim) Price of Wyoming. and Betty Lou (Mrs. Harold) Rowen of Longmont, CO.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He worked as a farmhand for area farmers for many years. He later worked at Colgan Implement and last worked for Breese Inc. Until he retired.
Services will be at 11am Monday (3/5) at Wyoming. Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Feldman will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Sunday (3/4) at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in rural Wyoming..

Lena Brown - (Wyoming.) - Lena Taylor Brown, 75, of Wyoming., formerly of Waukegan, died Monday, Feb.26, 2001, in Toulon.
Born May 25, 1925, in Wyoming. to George and Adda Rowtt, she married Byron Brown. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Norma) Milburn and Mrs. Donald (Gloria) Hedges.
She was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion.
A private graveside service will be at Mount Olivet Memorial Park in Zion. Arrangements are by Congdon Funeral Home in Zion.

Leslie Grimm - (LaFayette) - Leslie V. "Les" Grimm, 83, of LaFayette died at 12:25pm Tuesday, Feb.27, 2001 at Kewanee Hospital Skilled Care Unit in Kewanee.
Born Aug.16,1917, in Goshen Township, Stark County, to Marvin Hopkins and Alice Isabel King Grimm, he married Eleanor M. Stuart on July 20, 1942, in Hannibal, MO. She died Feb.7, 2001.
Two Brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
Surviving are one son, Bruce (and Kim) of Charlottesville, VA; one sister, Catherine (and Bob) Riner of Rushville; and one granddaughter.
A WWII Army veteran, he was captured on Feb.14, 1943, and held as a prisoner of war in Germany until being liberated by the Russians in April 1945. He received the Purple Heart and was a member of LaFayette American Legion.
He was an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance in the Canton and Kewanee areas for 28 years.
He was a past president of the LaFayette Park District.
Services will be at 11am Friday(3/2) at Rux Funeral Home in Galva, where visitation will be from 6-8pm tonight(3/1). The Rev. Rick Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in LaFayette Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded.

William Waldinger - (Bradford) - William A. Waldinger, 51, of Bradford died at 8:15pm Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Oakwood Health Care Center in Kewanee.
He was born Sept.16, 1949, in Kewanee to Franz and Emilie Lang Waldinger.
Surviving are one son, Lance of Portland, OR; one daughter, Samantha Waldinger of Bradford; one grandchild; four brothers, Francis (and Alice) of Buda, Henry (and Paulette) of Bradford, Clarence (and Kathy) of Scotia and Tom of Baltimore, MD; and three sisters, Liz (and Phil) Code of Buda and Ginny and (Ted) Gilles and Ruth (and Don) Stahl, both of Princeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He worked as a parts man at Arend's Inc.,a John Deere dealership, in Kewanee and Bradford, which later became Goodrich John Deere. He also was a custodian for Bradford High School.
He was a volunteer firefighter for the Bradford FIre Department for 23 years and coached the Babe Ruth baseball team in Bradford.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will be at 10am. Saturday (3rd).The Rev.John Thieryoung will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:30-8:30pm Friday (2nd) at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford, with recitation of the rosary at 8pm. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Bradford.

Eaton, 80, of Wyoming., died at 2:28 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Kewanee Hospital, Kewanee.Born July 26, 1921, in Princeville, Illinois, the son of Fred and Goldie Hollis Eaton, he married Edna E. Creason on April 28, 1946, in Wyoming.. She survives.Also surviving are 1 son, Edward E. (and Laramie) Eaton of Henry, IL; twin daughters, Jane I. (and Danny) Smith and Janet I. (and Tyson) Peck both of LaFayette, CO; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Terry) Farquer of Dahinda, Ill, and Nancy (Jan) Stephens of Knoxville, Ill, and two sons, R. Keith (Terri) Cooley of Wyoming., Ill and Charles A. (Karen) Cooley II of Dahinda, Ill, 11 grandchildren and four step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister, Sarah Katherine Volbracht of Quincy, Ill and several nieces and nephews. Special friends include the Nordberg family of Duluth, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Marion Cooley, Alvin Cooley, and Wilmot Cooley, and two sisters: Leano Turner and Fern Kucera.He was reared and educated in Pike County, Ill, attending Perry Grade School and Galesburg High School in Galesburg, Ill. He farmed east of Knoxville, Ill and was employed by Sears Farm Store. He owned and operated Cooley Ag Services in Galesburg, Ill from 1982 to 1990 after purchasing the Ag supply business from Amoco-Standard Oil Division where he was employed for 20 years. He served in the US Navy from 1945 through 1946 in Okinawa. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Knoxville, Ill. Parker, 92, of Toulon died at 8 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the Toulon Health Care Center, where she had been a resident since 1995.Born March 16, 1910, near Stockton to Earl and Gertrude Batchelder Carpenter, she married Ben C. Parker on July 31, 1926, in Galena. He died October 3, 1997, in Toulon.

She had been a cook for more than 20 years at the Toulon Grade School cafeteria, retiring in 1976.She was a longtime member of the Stark County Historical Society and a member of the former Rebecca Lodge and the Royal Neighbors.
She was a member of Toulon United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of its Ruth Circle and its Methodist Women's Club.Services were at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at DeBolt-Kidd Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Wier officiated. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial was in Toulon Cemetery. Born March 5, 1912, in Bradford to James W. and Blanche A. Liggett Scott, he married Harriet L. Rediske on February 11, 1938. She survives in Kewanee.
