Ruth E. Morgan, 85, formerly of the Elmira and Toulon area, died at 1:41 pm Monday, August 5, 2002, at Marigold Health Care Center in Galesburg. born Nov. 23, 1916, in Oakland, Ill, to Leonard and Cecil Ford Honn, she married Temple Wilson on Nov. 26, 1936, in Peoria. He preceded her in death. She later married James Morgan on Nov. 28, 1955. He died in December 1971. One sister and four brothers also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, James Jr. (and Terri) of Pontiac; five daughters, Mary Hovind, Joyce (and Blair) Stewart and Ruth Talbert, all of Galesburg, Diana (and Jim) Winslow of Elmira and Kathy Snow of Dixon; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Honn of Virginia; and three sisters, Kathryn Van Voorhis of Godfrey and Jorja Henry and Patricia Edwards, both of Oakland.
She was a member of Elmira United Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to her church.
Charles O. "Chuck" Cooley, age 75, of Knoxville, Ill, died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at 6:25 pm near Floodwood, Minnesota. while fishing in Floodwood, Minnesota..
Born May 3, 1927, in Fishook, Ill, the son of Charles A. and Edith Gleckler Cooley, he married Doris L. Peterson October 19, 1946, in Galesburg, IL. She survives.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Terry) Farquer of Dahinda, Ill, and Nancy (Jan) Stephens of Knoxville, Ill, and two sons, R. Keith (Terri) Cooley of Wyoming., Ill and Charles A. (Karen) Cooley II of Dahinda, Ill, 11 grandchildren and four step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister, Sarah Katherine Volbracht of Quincy, Ill and several nieces and nephews. Special friends include the Nordberg family of Duluth, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Marion Cooley, Alvin Cooley, and Wilmot Cooley, and two sisters: Leano Turner and Fern Kucera.He was reared and educated in Pike County, Ill, attending Perry Grade School and Galesburg High School in Galesburg, Ill. He farmed east of Knoxville, Ill and was employed by Sears Farm Store. He owned and operated Cooley Ag Services in Galesburg, Ill from 1982 to 1990 after purchasing the Ag supply business from Amoco-Standard Oil Division where he was employed for 20 years. He served in the US Navy from 1945 through 1946 in Okinawa. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Knoxville, Ill. He was a life member of the Rylander-Milroy American Legion Post #727 of Oneida, Ill.Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at 10 am at the United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Ill. Revs. Mary Vick Roth and Randy Douglass officiated. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 23 at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Ill. Fairbanks, 59, of Wyoming., died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, July 14, 2002, at LaGrange Community Hospital, LaGrange, Indiana.Born September 1, 1942, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Jabez Ford and Leah Rachel Spangler Fairbanks, he married Carol Sue Gilles on September 28, 1968, in Kickapoo, IL. She died September 3, 1996, in Peoria. He then married Carol Jean Fox Ehnle on October 18, 1997, in Wyoming., IL. She survives.Also surviving is his mother, Leah R. Fairbanks of Lacon, IL; 1 daughter, Melissa A. (and Dwayne) Williams of Chillicothe, IL; 1 son, Douglas M. Parker, 92, of Toulon died at 8 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the Toulon Health Care Center, where she had been a resident since 1995.Born March 16, 1910, near Stockton to Earl and Gertrude Batchelder Carpenter, she married Ben C. Parker on July 31, 1926, in Galena. He died October 3, 1997, in Toulon.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Edmund, in 1945; five sisters; and one brother.Surviving are three sons, Gerald (and Carol Ann) of Mattoon, Ben "Curt" (and Agnes) of Toulon and Richard (and Regina) of Phoenix; four daughters, Joyce (and Armond) Sloan of Princeville, Nancy (and Thomas) Rollins of Altona, Patricia (and Altona) Chapman of Morton and Judith Gossett of Park City, Ky.; 23 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 22 great-great grandchildren.
She had been a cook for more than 20 years at the Toulon Grade School cafeteria, retiring in 1976.She was a longtime member of the Stark County Historical Society and a member of the former Rebecca Lodge and the Royal Neighbors.
She was a member of Toulon United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of its Ruth Circle and its Methodist Women's Club.Services were at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at DeBolt-Kidd Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Wier officiated. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial was in Toulon Cemetery. Bernadine A. Hall, 86, of Bradford died at 5:55 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 at Heartland Health Care Center in Bradford.Born January 19, 1916, in Bradford to Jesse and Mary Schummel Hufnagel, she married Gilbert, "Gib" Hall on March 11, 1935, in Eureka. He died in August 1982. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra Hall.Surviving are four daughters, Sharon Maher of Clarkston, Michigan, Cheryl (and Dan) Puffer of Lombard, Mary (and Jim) Colgan of Bradford and Julie (and Greg) Plotner of Dalton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Darlene Dillon of Leipsic, Ohio and Dorothy (and Cliff) Herridge of Lacon.

His father preceded him in death.A graduate of Princeville High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He was a truck driver for Rick Miller Blacktopping, last working Friday, June 28th. He was a member of Teamsters Local 627, Peoria, and a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, Dunlap.Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Thomas Jeremy Senders, 27, of Kewanee, Illinois, died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2002, as a result of a car accident in Bureau County. He was born December 29, 1974, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Kenneth G. and Linda J. Gillam Senders.
Surviving are his mother, Linda J. Phillips, of Audubon, Penn.; father, Kenneth G. Senders of Princeton, Ill.; 2 sons, Colton and Mason Senders both of Kewanee, Ill.; 1 daughter, Paige Senders of Kewanee, Ill.; 2 sisters, Tonya McCann of Princeton, Ill., and Tara Treber of Audubon, Penn.; 1 brother, Tim Senders of Laura, Ill; 1 step-brother, Thomas Joseph Thomson/Senders of Princeton, Ill.; fiancée, Shawna Duncan of Kewanee, Ill.; maternal grandmother, Shirley Gillam of Princeville, Ill.; paternal grandmother, Dolores Senders of Monica, Ill.; 4 nephews; 2 nieces; and several aunts and uncles. His maternal and paternal grandfathers preceded him in death.
He farmed for Mary Jane Streitmatter in rural Wyoming. and also did carpentry work in the Princeton, Kewanee, and Princeville areas.

Ruby P. Savage, 79, of rural Princeville, died 1:46 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2002, in the emergency room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Born June 21, 1923, in Oak Hill, Illinois, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Bleichner LaFollette, she married Harlan Savage on January 30, 1942, in Peoria, Illinois. He died May 25, 1967, in Peoria.

Sandra D. Towne Shelley, 42, of Indianapolis, formerly of Peoria, died Thursday, November 14, 2002, in Indianapolis.
Born August 14, 1960, in Peoria to Ralph and Alice Dunn Towne, she married Joseph Shelley. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Tyler at home; one daughter, Alexis Shelley at home; and three sisters, Beverly Montooth of Galva, Christine Pauli of Dunlap and Jayne Geary of Wyoming., Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
She was a homemaker.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Burial of ashes was held in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wyoming., Ill. Alpha Funeral Service in Indianapolis is in charge of arrangements.

Frances E. Felton, 90, of rural Brimfield, died 9:33 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2002, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Peoria.
Born August 23, 1912, in Fulton County, Illinois, the daughter of John and Anna Meyer Kuntz, she married Willis T. Felton on April 4, 1931, in Mount Sterling, IL. He died July 17, 1989, in Peoria.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Geraldine "Geri" (and Eugene) Ely and Jeanne (and Billie) McCoy both of rural Princeville; 1 son, William (and Carolee) Felton of Hackensack, MN; 1 sister, Anna Hardesty of Canton, IL; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her parents, one son, John Felton, two grandsons, one sister and three brothers preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Radnor Grange for over 55 years and a 54-year member of the W.W. Club. She also was a member of the Princeville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at Princeville United Methodist Church. Rev. Rex Hendrix will officiate. Visitation will be 1-½ hours prior to funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery, Princeville.

She was born September 1, 1910, in Vine Hill, Alabama, the daughter of Ernest L. and Helen Mabel Dickinson Elwell. She was preceded in death by husbands John H. Hollingsworth in Anniston, Alabama; Howard W. Lewis in Decatur, Illinois; and Quentin Z. Gladin in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her son, Robert L. Hollingsworth also preceded her in death.
Surviving are 1 daughter, Florence V. (and Richard) Erdmann of Buhl, Idaho; 3 sons, Charles W. (and Emma Lou) Hollingsworth of Buhl, Idaho; Alan L. (and Rosemary) Hollingsworth of Kingwood, Texas; and William H. (and Cathe) Lewis of Alpine, Texas; 1 daughter-in-law, Mildred Hollingsworth of Walnut, Illinois, 20 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

Local services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2002, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce officiated. Visitation was held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Dunlap.

M. Delbert McDonald, 86, of Bradford, died at 7:30 am Tuesday, November 12, 2002, at his home. born October 2, 1916, in Bradford, Illinois, the son of Charles McDonald and Estella Cunningham, he married Gloria A. Manning on February 14, 1947, in Peoria Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, daughter Gloria “Skeet” (Gary) Foley of Bradford, daughter Dolly DeValkenaere of Bradford, Granddaughters Diana Foley, of Bradford, Vanessa (Todd) Mannon, of Bradford, Laura Foley, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Grandson David Foley of Las Vegas, Nevada, and two great granddaughters, Kelsey and Arianna Mannon, both of Bradford.
His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
McDonald was a member of Leet United Methodist Church in Bradford, a 50 year member of Bradford American Legion #445, and a 50 year member of Wyoming. Masonic Lodge #479. He was a member of the United States Army – 7th Infantry Division and served in WWII in the Aleutian Islands, Eastern Mandates, Southern Philippines & Ryukyus. He worked with the Bradford Fire Department for many years and was Fire Chief for 13 years. He was employed as a welder, and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Graveside services were held Thursday, November 14, 2002, at the Bradford Cemetery, and the visitation was held at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford. Graveside Military Rites were performed by the Bradford American Legion 3445. Memorial Contributions may be made to Bradford Rescue Squad.

He died February 5, 1962, in Peoria.

5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and 1 brother, Donald Smutzer of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Her parents; infant son, Paul Brandenburg; son, Earl Brandenburg; three sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.
She worked at Sutliff & Case and Foster & Gallagher both in Peoria. She later worked as a label sorter for International Paper in Peoria.
She was a member of Royal Neighbors of American and St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Princeville, and it's Altar & Rosary Society.
