Lynne Anne Blom, 50, associate professor dance in the theatre department, died
Jan. 30 [1993] of cancer in the Ravenswood Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 7, in the Marjorie Ward Marshall Dance Center on the Evanston campus.
A resident of Evanston, Blom was a 12-year member of the Northwestern dance faculty. She also served on the dance faculty at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Illinois-Urbana. She received a bachelor's degree in dance from Julliard School of Music in 1963 and a master's degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1969.
Her choreography has been performed by the Joseph Holmes Dance Theatre, the Lynda Martha Dance Company, the Joel Hall Dancers and Northwestern's own Danceworks.
Blom co-authored both "The Intimate Act of Choreography" and "The Moment of Movement: Dance Improvisation" with L. Tarin Chaplin.
She is survived by her son, Aric of Evanston; her mother and father, Fe and Alfred Fippinger of Brookville, Fla.; and a brother, Dean Fippinger, of New York.
