Lillie Irene Stowers -
Lillie Irene Stowers, 65, of DuQuoin, passed away Friday, January 22, 1999 at 3:50 a.m. in Wonder Lake, IL.
Mrs. Stowers was an Inspector for Knowles Electronics and a member of St. Monica’s Church in Carpentersville.
She was born January 30, 1933 in Christopher, the daughter of Cecil and Grace (Lang) Risley. She married William C. Stowers on February 26, 1954 in DuQuoin and he survives.
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Tyrone and Brenda Stowers of Belvidere; one daughter and son-in-law, Wynona and William Bieneman of Wonder Lake; one brother, Bill Risley of Benton; two sisters, Lena Ivy of Carpentersville and Cecil French of Glenn Ellyn; seven grandchildren, Nyoka Townsend, William Bieneman Jr., Michael Bieneman, Amber Stowers, Brittany Stowers, Cheyenne Stowers and Tyler Stowers and one great-grandson, Dean Townsend.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Carl Risley.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Fr. Richard Daly officiating.
Burial was in Harrison Cemetery in Buckner.
Robert Allen Eslinger -
Robert Allen Eslinger, 36, of Lexington, IL, formerly of DuQuoin, passed away at 8:22 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 1999 at Lexington.
Allen worked at Mitsubishi in Bloomington, IL. He was a DuQuoin High School graduate and graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He was a member of the Faith Fellowship at Fairbury, IL.
He was born July 24, 1962 at Pinckneyville, the son of Charles and Doris (Huggins) Eslinger. He married Karen Whicker on September 25, 1993 at Chenoa, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Lexington, two step-sons, Robbie and Jeremy Whicker, both of Lexington; parents, Charles and Doris Eslinger of Tamaroa; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Huggins of Pinckneyville and aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Ted Clark officiating.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.

John H. Dudek -
John H. Dudek, age 68, of rural Pinckneyville, passed away Saturday, January 23, 1999 at his home following a lengthy illness and in the presence of all of his family, his Hospice nurses and a special friend, Bud Grasso.
John was born in DuBois on September 22, 1930, the son of Joseph A. and Elizabeth (Poiter) Dudek. He married Florence M. Loos on April 18, 1955 at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville and she survives. During his lifetime he was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, served with the US Marines during the Korean Conflict, was a farmer, carpenter, mechanic, enjoyed bowling, a member of the Perry County Farm Bureau and had received his 25 year membership pin with the Knights of Columbus of Pinckneyville.
Survivors include his wife, Florence; four sons, John J. Dudek and wife Lisa, Tony Dudek and wife Pam, Mark Dudek and wife Robin and Matt Dudek, all of Pinckneyville; five daughters, Bea Sloan and husband Paul, Berni Miller and husband Melvin, Liz Hale and husband Greg, Elaine Bigham and husband Dwight, all of Pinckneyville and Julie Curless and husband Cliff of Sparta; two sisters, Emalie Bathon of Marion and Susan Dudek of Pinckneyville; fourteen grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elizabeth Dudek.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 26 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville with Fr. John Venegoni officiating. Interment was in St. Bruno Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Perry County/Hospital Home Care or St. Bruno Catholic School.
Graveside military rites were provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504.
George R. Blair -
George R. Blair, age 90, of Cutler, died in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit on Thursday, February 11 at 3:18 p.m.
George was born on April 2, 1908 in Perry County, the son of William R. and Martha J. (Robb) Blair. He married Floy D. Dempsey on October 28, 1933 in Jackson, MO and she preceded him in death on January 30, 1998. George worked as a Mechanic and Farmer in the Cutler area and was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Cutler.
Survivors include one son, George Robert Blair and wife Brenda of Powhatan, VA; two daughters, Inez Jane Pryer and husband Earl of Cutler and Cynthia Simmons and Burnell of Manteno; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents; three sisters, Helen Montieth, Marquarite Brown and Ruth Blair and two brothers, Walter R. Blair and William Harvey Blair.
Funeral services were held on Monday, February 15, 1999 at the Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Blair officiating. Interment was in the Cutler Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Mary Kuykendall Carpenter Heart Fund.
Rebecca Dober -
Rebecca Dober, 83, of Tamaroa, passed away at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 1999 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin. Mrs. Dober was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was born May 13, 1915 in Scheller, the daughter of Harvey Harlan and Sarah (Wynn) Moore. She married Clarence Dober on November 7, 1935 at Pinckneyville and he survives.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence of Tamaroa and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were Friday, February 5, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Bob Miller officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Interment was in the Paradise Cemetery in Tamaroa.
Friends may make memorials to the Paradise Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Richard Harold Heisler -
Richard Harold Heisler, 53, of Longmont, CO, passed away Monday February 22, 1999 in Longmont, CO.
Mr. Heisler worked in Plant Maintenance and General Foods, was a member of Christ congregational Church in Longmont, CO, Masonic Lodge #389 and Moose Lodge #802, both in Kankakee, IL. He was a US Air Force veteran.
He was born November 10, 1945 in Pinckneyville, the son of Harold Neil Heisler and Jewel (Mayer) Heisler Loos.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Heisler of Kankakee, IL; his mother, Jewel Heisler Loos of Longmont, CO; one brother, Martin Heisler of Cabery, IL; three sisters, Mollie Hurst and Cathy Dalpra, both of Longmont, CO and Henrietta Illig of Zephyrhills, FL and two grandchildren, Cortney Heisler and Kayla Cooper.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 5 at 2 p.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Binder officiating. Interment was in Elkville Cemetery in Elkville.

Argola Jackson -
Argola Jackson, 84, of DuQuoin, passed away Thursday, February 25, 1999 at 7:20 p.m. in Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro.
Mrs. Jackson was a tavern owner and a member of AME Zion Church in DuQuoin.
She was born February 25, 1915 in DuQuoin, the daughter of Willi and Lovie (Baxter) Woods. She married Robert Jackson, who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Albert Woods of DuQuoin and Walter Woods of DuQuoin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Baker and Rev. Dr. Freddie Banks officiating. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery in DuQuoin.
