Beth A. Fisher
Beth A. Fisher, age 39, of Pinckneyville, IL died at her mother's home on Friday, January 17, 2003 at 7:15 a.m. following a lengthy illness.
Beth was born in St. Louis, MO on June 2, 1963 the daughter of Blouwn Weeks and Janet (West) Weeks. Beth worked at the former P.N. Hirsch in Pinckneyville, the Dollar General Store in Pinckneyville, the Food Bank in DuQuoin and Murphysboro, and the U.S. States Post Office in Pinckneyville. She was a graduate of the Pinckneyville Community High School Class of 1981 and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale Class of 2002. Beth was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Pinckneyville.
Survivors include her mother, Janet Erwin and husband Kenneth of Pinckneyville, IL, her father, Blouwn Weeks and wife Wilma of St. Charles, MO, 2 sons, Nathan Fisher and Wesley Fisher, both of Pinckneyville, IL, a brother, Ron Weeks and wife Susie of Pinckneyville, IL, a step-brother, Tim McKinney and wife Kathy of DuQuoin, IL, two step sisters, Dianna Thimming and husband Dick of Sparta, IL and Susan Brown and husband Rob of Salem, IL. and a step grandmother, Agnes Erwin of Ferguson, MO.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 20, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, IL. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was held at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday, January 19, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, January 20, 2003 from 8:00 a.m. till 10:15 a.m.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Gary W. Glenzy
Gary W. 'Bear' Glenzy, age 63, of Pinckneyville, IL, formerly of Chaffee, MO, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 26, 2003 at 9:12 a.m. in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room.
Gary was born in Chaffee, MO, January 15, 1940 the son of John and Lela (Carter) Glenzy. Gary was a member of the All Conference Football Team in High School, and a graduate of Southeast Missouri University. He was scouted by the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Team. He was united in marriage to Rosemary Greer in Chaffee, MO on August 18, 1962 and she survives.
Gary was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, IL.
Gary had retired as the Panther Athletic Director, volleyball coach and girl's basketball coach and teacher from the Pinckneyville Community High School in 2001. Gary coached football at Pinckneyville High School for 21 years, retiring in 1990. He started the Panther Wrestling program in the mid 1970s and was the program's first wrestling coach. Gary was one of the founders of the Southern Illinois Coal Bowl Allstar Football Game. He was elected to the Illinois Coaches Hall of Fame in 1990. Gary was a past president of the Southern Illinois Coaches Association. He was also honored by the Southern Illinois Coaches Association with the Emeritus Coach Award in 2001.Gary was voted Illinois Athletic Director of the Year, 1988-89.
Gary is survived by his wife Rosemary of Pinckneyville, IL, one daughter, Genea Pixler and husband Rob of Lexington, KY, four brothers; Danny Glenzy and wife Jan of St. Louis, MO, Michael Campbell of Springfield, MO, Bill Campbell of Jefferson City, MO, and Bruce Glenzy of Kansas City, MO, one sister, Nancy Campbell of Springfield, MO, brothers-in-law, Nelson and Frank Greer and their wives, Carolyn and Kay from Tucson, AZ, two sisters-in-law, LaVerne Keller and husband Bud of Austin, TX and Judy Greer of Kansas City, MO, a cousin, Terry Glenzy and wife Pat of Chaffee, MO, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m., January 30, 2003 at the St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, IL with Father John Venegoni officiating. Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation was held at the St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, IL Wednesday evening from 5:30 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. The public was also invited to attend a Prayer Vigil on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. prior to the visitation.
There was no public visitation on Thursday morning
Memorials may be made to the Glenzy Scholarship Fund.

Larry G. Goodwin
Larry G. Goodwin, Sr., 64, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:45 A.M., Monday, January 27, 2003 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Larry worked as a salesman for Chip Banks Chevrolet for five years. He had also worked for Arch Coal Company.
He was born April 24, 1938 at Du Quoin, the son of Courtlin and Fleta (Bailey) Goodwin.
He married Karen J. Moody on November 9, 1957 at Du Quoin and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one son - Larry G. Goodwin, Jr. and wife Kristy of Du Quoin, one daughter - Laurie Kellerman and husband James of Du Quoin, three grandchildren - Ryan Goodwin, Courtney Kellerman, and Paige Kellerman, one great grandson - Cole Allen Goodwin, and his mother - Fleta Bailey Goodwin Eubanks of Du Quoin.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers - Dennis and Charles.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Du Quoin with Rev. John E. Johnson officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church Building Fund or Marshall Browning Hospital Capital Campaign.

Jason Louis Gremmels
Jason Louis Gremmels, 18, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 10:05 A.M., Monday, January 6, 2003 at his residence.
Jason was a student at Millikin University.
He was born February 27, 1984 at Golden, CO, the son of Louis and Annette (Reed) Gremmels.
He is survived by his mother of Decatur, IL, two sisters - Ashley Gremmels of Decatur, IL and Pam Gremmels of Monticello, IL, two brothers - David Gremmels of Florence, AL and Kent Gremmels of Trussville, AL, grandfather - Norman Reed of Taylorville, IL, great-grandmother - Goldie Reed of Taylorville, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother - Duane Gremmels, and grandmother - Delores Reed.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. John E. Johnson officiating.
Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin was in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service was held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Unity Church in Decatur, IL.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Alfred Earl HayCraft
Alfred Earl HayCraft, 81, of Tamaroa, passed away at 5:01 P.M., Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at his residence.
Alfred was a retired farmer. He had also worked for Dragge Sawmill, Missouri Pacific Railroad, CocaCola Bottling Company, and until retirement at General Tire in Du Quoin. He was a US Navy veteran of W.W.II. He was a member of Tamaroa Pentecostal Church and Perry County Farm Bureau.
He was born January 30, 1921 at Randles, MO, the son of Joshua Columbus and Minnie (Kernell) HayCraft.
He married Frances May Weisel on August 31, 1940 at Fredericktown, Missouri and she preceded him in death on September 14, 1985.
He is survived by one son - Richard E. HayCraft of Tamaroa, one daughter - Virginia Moss of Tamaroa, two foster children - Shirley Szczeblewski of Mulkeytown and Bonnie Faye Robinson of Du Quoin, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son - J.C. HayCraft, one daughter - Edna Pitman, one granddaughter, two great grandchildren, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 11, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Jackie Joe Davison officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Interment was in the Antioch Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Ruth Alene Hennrich
Ruth Alene Hennrich, 75, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:15 P.M., Thursday, January 16, 2003 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin.
She was born on November 28, 1927 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Allen P. and Ella V. (Crabb) Taylor.
She married Frank N. Hennrich Jr. on June 23, 1952 at Piggott AR and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1994.
She is survived by one daughter - Julie Taylor of Du Quoin, one grandson - David Hennrich of Du Quoin, several nieces and nephews including Bob Taylor and David Michael Taylor both of Du Quoin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 20, 2003 at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Carl Mesiti officiating.
Friends called from 6 to 8 P.M., Sunday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Parrish Cemetery at Vergennes, IL.
