Kathryn Anderson
Kathryn "Katie" Anderson, 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:02 P.M., Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Kathryn had owned and operated Anderson Tax and Bookkeeping in Du Quoin for thirty years. She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin, and had been a church choir member for fifty years. She had also been a Youth Leader for many years at the church. She had been a member and past president of the Professional Business Women Club.
She was born October 24, 1921 at Du Quoin, IL the daughter of Prentice and Floy (Hammann) Anderson.
She is survived by special friends- Mary Ann Hess and Dorothy McQuaid both of Du Quoin, Four girls she called her adopted daughters- Connie (Crain) Dwyer, Bonnie (Anderson) Hughes, Marla (Galloway) Uhles and Susan (Hirsch) Kunkel, thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were at 3:00 P.M., Friday, May 3, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Kevin Weaver officiating.
Friends called from 1 to 3 P.M. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Victoria H. Zielinski
Victoria H. Zielinski, 70, of Tamaroa, passed away at 12:05PM, Friday, March 22, 2002 at her residence.
Victoria was a retired nurse assistant at the St. Mary's Hospital in East St. Louis. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa.
She was born June 9, 1931, at Perry County, IL, the daughter of Stanley J. and Martha G. (Drzewiecki) Zielinski.
She is survived by a brothernRaymond Zielinski of Swansea, niecenAllison Zielinski of Swansea, nephewnMax Zielinski of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were at 10:00AM, Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa with Msgr. Melvin Vandeloo officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8PM, Tuesday, at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. The Rosary was prayed at 7:00PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Immaculate Conception cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Masses.
Fred W. Lueker
Fred W. Lueker, age 78, of Pinckneyville, passed away Monday morning, March 11, 2002 at 8:56 a.m. in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville.
Fred was born February 29, 1924, the son of Fred C. and Ethel (Guy) Lueker both of whom preceded him in death. He married
Virginia Blumhorst on October 11, 1947 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Johannesburg, Ill. and she survives.
During his lifetime, he served with the U.S. Army during WW II in the 63rd Infantry Division and received the Purple Heart while in combat. He was a retired United Mine Workers of American miner and previous owner of Lueker Welding and Implement with his father. He was a member of the Pinckneyville American Legion Post #2504, the Nashville Order of Eastern Star, the Pinckneyville VFW Post #3959, the Mitchell Masonic Lodge #85, A.F. & A.M. and past Worshipful Master, a member of the Perry County Shrine Club and Ainad Temple in East St. Louis and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. During his retirement he enjoyed his woodworking shop.
Other survivors include his two sons: Jerry Lueker and his wife, Cherie, of Pinckneyville and Tom and his wife, Shirley, of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; four grandchildren: Jeremy Lueker of Pinckneyville, Tricia Lueker of Carterville, T.J. Lueker and Dustin Lueker of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; one sister: Esther Lunnemann of Steeleville, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will also be missed by his dearest friend: Lawrence (Pat) Patton and fellow Masons L.C. McDaniel and Phil Behiter.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 14, 2002 in the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville at 11 a.m. with Pastor Karen Stahr Terada officiating. Interment was in Mueller Hill cemetery, Pinckneyville. Pinckneyville American Legion Post #2504 provided graveside military rites.
Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 until 10:30 a.m. Mitchell Lodge #85, A.F. & A.M., Pinckneyville, provided services on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
Bert N. McKinstry
Bert N. McKinstry, age 70, of Danville, Ind., died on March 23, 2002 in Indianapolis, Ind.
Bert was born in Pinckneyville on January 2, 1932, the son of Leonard and Louise (Dietz) McKinstry. He was a graduate of Pinckneyville Community High School. He married
Linda Hagler in Alto Pass on December 7, 1957 and she survives.
Bert served in the United States Army and retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Decatur in 1987 as an inspector. He lived in Mt. Zion from 1957 until 1989. Bert attended the Northview Christian Church in Danville, Ind.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; a daughter, Cathrine A. Friedman of Avon, Ind. and two brothers, Leonard McKinstry and George McKinstry, both of Pinckneyvillle. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Gale McKinstry; a sister, Helen Bigham and a brother, Floyd McKinstry.
Funeral services were held at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Wednesday, March 27 at 10 a.m. with Speaker Howard Aughinbaugh officiating. Interment was in the Alto Pass cemetery in Alto Pass.
Visitation was at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 26 from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until services.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association.
Isabelle Louise Loucks
Isabelle Louise Loucks, 66, of Sesser, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. at Benton Health Care in Benton, Ill.
Mrs. Loucks was a member of Bear Point Baptist Church.
She was born June 10, 1935 in Sesser, the daughter of Harrison and Della (Roberson) Braden. She married
Robert W. Loucks and he survives.
Also surviving are two children, Robert E. Loucks and wife Debbie of DuQuoin and Cathy L. Bunton and husband Ralph of Sesser; sister, Mae Merkel of Sesser; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser with Bro Larry Cook officiating. Interment was in Knob Prairie cemetery in Waltonville.
Friends called after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser.

Jaden Anthony Adams
Jaden Anthony Adams, infant, of Metropolis, passed away Friday, April 5, 2002 at Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
Jaden was born April 5, 2002 in DuQuoin to Christopher A. and Kara (Worthington) Adams.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Adams of Metropolis; maternal grandmother, Frankie Worthington of DuQuoin and paternal grandmother, Mary Adams of Joppa.
Graveside services were Monday, April 8 at 11 a.m. in the IOOF cemetery with Rev. Antoine Hutcheson officiating. There was no visitation. Friends were asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Neal-McClure Funeral Home of DuQuoin was in charge of arrangements.
Elouise Martin
Elouise Martin, 75, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:45 P.M., Saturday, March 16, 2002 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Elouise was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Du Quoin Study Club.
She was born March 13, 1927 at Du Quoin the daughter of Frank and Maude (Mifflin) Kelley.
She married
Paul L. Martin on December 22, 1945 at Pinckneyville he passed away March 29, 1999.
She is survived by a daughter- Pam Haar and husband Michael of Silver Lake, KS, two sons- Paul Martin II of Elkville, Richard Martin of Du Quoin, sister- Phyllis Crockett of Bethany, IL, grandchildren- Capt. Christopher M. Haar, USMC, Erin Beth Harries and husband Jason, Katie Haar, Joshua Haar, Matthew Martin, Andrew Martin, great grandchildren- Andrew and Hallee Haar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother- Frank Kelley Jr., sisters- Evelyn Bryant and Norma Lipe and a sister in infancy Virginia Kelley.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Michael Haar officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Sacred Heart cemetery at Du Quoin.

Mary Roznowski Quicksall
Mary Roznowski Quicksall, 41, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of DuQuoin, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2002 in Chicago.
Ms. Roznowski was a Professor of Business Psychology at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was born November 6, 1960 in DuQuoin, the daughter of Jerome Michael and Martha Elnor (Lee) Roznowski.
Surviving are her mother, Martha Roznowski of DuQuoin; four brothers, Tom Roznowski and wife Janis of Austin, Texas, Charles Roznowski of St. Peters, Missouri, Mark Roznowski and Terry Roznowski, both of DuQuoin; nephew, Jeremy Roznowski and two nieces, Jill Pyle and Julena Roznowski.
She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Richard and Stephen and her grandparents.
Funeral services were Monday, March 25 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating. Interment was in Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery.
Friends called at Neal-McClure Funeral Home on Monday, March 25 from 8 until 9:45 a.m. at which time services will be moved to the church.
The Rosary was said at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Robert G. Center
Robert G. Center, 96, of Quail Haven in Pinehurst, North Carolina, died Thursday, January 31, 2002.
Funeral services were private with interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Center was born in DuQuoin and received his School of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois in 1929. Prior to retiring to North Carolina in 1979, Mr. Center owned and operated R.G. Center Drug Stores in Highland, Ill.
Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Florence M. Center of Quail Haven Inn, 220 Blake Blvd., Pinehurst, North Carolina 28374; a daughter, N. Joel Rich and a granddaughter, Laurie Joel Rich, both of Pinehurst; a grandson, Gerald A. Rich and great-granddaughter, Leslie Jordan Rich of Wilmington.
Memorials may be made to Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 330 S. May Street, Southern Pines 28387 or to a charity of choice.
Lorraine P. Denney
Lorraine P. Denney, age 79, of Pinckneyville, died in the Pinckneyville Healthcare Center in Pinckneyville on Monday, April 29, 2002 at 12:20 a.m.
Loraine was born in Pinckneyville on June 23, 1922. She loved fishing and working in her garden.
Survivors include her daughter, Holly Schacher and husband Gary of Oregon City, Ore.; a sister, Doris Magerkurth; two brothers, David Gaston and T.H. "Junior" Gaston, all of Pinckneyville; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service was held at the home of her sister on Friday, May 3, 2002.
Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville was in charge of arrangements.
Delbert W. Hemmer
Delbert W. Hemmer, 76, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:20 P.M., Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Delbert was a retired tractor-trailer driver for Coca Cola Co. with 49 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Du Quoin, Crusaders Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Du Quoin Senior Citizens.
Delbert was born May 29, 1925 at Du Quoin, IL the son of William and Mary (Wendling) Hemmer.
He married
Betty L. Davis on January 26, 1946 at Morganfield, KY and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two daughters- Marla McNulty and husband Ron of Du Quoin, Debra McMurray and husband Gary of Du Quoin, four grandchildren- Michael McNulty of Florrisant, MO, Jason McNulty of St. Louis, MO, Danny McMurray of Du Quoin and Dana McMurray of Du Quoin, two brothers- Wilbur Hemmer and Edward Hemmer both of Du Quoin, four sisters- Marcella Hayes of Pinckneyville, Marie Mozi and Patsy Wheatley both of Du Quoin, Betty Graff of Carterville, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 13, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Carl Mesiti officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Du Quoin.

Patricia Marie Rosenberger
Patricia Marie Rosenberger, 72, of Ava, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2002 in Ava.
Mrs. Rosenberger was a homemaker and a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Ava.
She was born Friday, November 29, 1929 in DuQuoin, the daughter of Joseph Matthew and Hilda Marie (Fabry) Gancarcik. She married
Raymond R. Rosenberger on June 24, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DuQuoin.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond Rosenberger of Ava and one sister, Delores Borgestede of St. Charles, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Funeral services were Monday, March 4 at 10 a.m. at St. Bruno's Catholic cemetery in Pinckneyville with Father John Venegoni officiating. Interment followed.
The funeral was under the auspices of Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava.
Memorials may be made to Masses or Perry County Hospice.
