John C. Hensley
John C. Hensley, age 56, of Pinckneyville, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, August 18, 2002 at 1:02 a.m.
John was born in Elys, Ky. on April 27, 1946, the son of J.H. and Pernie (Crane) Hensley. He worked as a Parts Supervisor for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in East Peoria. John was a member of the Holts Prairie Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, the Morton Masonic Lodge #352 and the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree.
He is survived by his mother, Pernie Hensley of Pinckneyville; three brothers, Richard Hensley and Alvin Hensley, both of Pinckneyville and Larry Hensley and wife Alice of Johnston City; two daughters, Shawnda Renee Hensley of Wisconsin and Staci Lynn Beck of Missouri; two grandchildren; four nephews, Jason Hensley, Timothy Hensley, Sam Hensley and Charles Hensley; two nieces, Angela Hensley and Elizabeth Hensley; one great-nephew, Josh Hensley; one great-niece, Taylor Lynn Hensley and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Charles and his grandparents, Arbie and Sophie Crane and Richard and Amanda Hensley.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 21 at 1 p.m. in the Holts Prairie Baptist Church in Pinckneyville with Brother Collin Hirsch officiating. Interment was in the Holts Prairie cemetery.
Visitation was held at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Tuesday, August 20 from 5 until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 until 11:30 a.m. then at the church until time of services.
A Masonic service was held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
Robert Eugene Helbig
Robert Eugene Helbig, 52, of Tamaroa, passed away at 11:47 P.M., Friday, August 2, 2002 at his residence.
Bob was owner-operator of his over the road trucking company. He was a member of the Tamaroa Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a US Army veteran of the Viet Nam War.
He was born December 2, 1949 at Madison, WI. His foster parents James and Cora Burnson raised him and preceded him in death.
He married
Lisa Griffith on May 22, 1982 at Tamaroa, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife Lisa of Tamaroa, children- Jason Eugene Helbig of Pinckneyville, Angela Renee Helbig of Tamaroa, Kimberly Renee Helbig-Stanhouse of Tamaroa, Robert James Helbig of Pinckneyville, Corey Matthew Helbig of Tamaroa, grandchild- Baylee Rose Kristen of Tamaroa, two sisters- Florence Parker of Steeleville, Nancy Trotter of Attica, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his foster parents.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Raymond Baggott officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Interment was in the Tamaroa cemetery.
Military graveside rites were conducted by Du Quoin VFW Post 513.

Kenneth D. Fleming
Kenneth D. Fleming, 85, of DuQuoin, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2002 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in DuQuoin.
Kenneth was a retired laborer. He worked at Southern Illinois University for 18 years. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in DuQuoin and was a former Sunday School teacher and church song leader. Kenneth enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. he had played and sung for the nursing home residents for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
Kenneth was born January 5, 1917 at Sunfield, the son of Stephen and Nellie (Dana) Fleming. He married
Marilyn (Jackie) Lively on September 27, 1947 at Old DuQuoin and she survives.
In addition to his wife Jackie, of DuQuoin, he is survived by children, Chuck Fleming and wife Georgia of DuQuoin, David Fleming and wife Jalena of DuQuoin, Vicky Holmes and husband Wayne of Fayette, Ala., Dana Fleming and wife Rhonda of Tamaroa; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Esther Hampleman and grandson, Steven Fleming.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 21 at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Steve Bareis officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.

Lucille Davis
Lucille Davis, 88, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:20 A.M., Sunday, September 1, 2002 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Lucille was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin.
She was born September 5, 1913 at DeSoto, IL the daughter of Thomas and Rebecca (Gardner) Tustin.
She was first married
to Nigel Wilson he passed away May 11, 1971, she then married
Roy Davis and he passed away in 1980.
She is survived by six children- Mabel Tripp and husband George of Edgefield, SC, Emily Coffel and husband Donald of Joliet, Myrtle Allen and husband Wayne of Coello, Bill Wilson of Du Quoin, Wanatha Davis of Murphysboro, Theresa Mathis and husband James of Pinckneyville, sister- Sarah Reavley of Joliet, twenty three grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sons- Floyd Wilson and James Dahl, two brothers, three sisters.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Du Quoin.
Billie G. McDonnough
Billie G. McDonnough, 75, of Cutler, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at 12:43 a.m. in Pinckneyville Care Center.
Mr. McDonnough was retired from Spartan Printing Company. He was a member of Cross Baptist Church in Pinckneyville. He served in the U.S. Army as a Tank Driver and was a member of Du Quoin VFW Post #513.
He was born January 31, 1927 in Pinckneyville, the son of Bob and Effie Davis McDonnough. He married
Marian A. Prowell on October 21, 1955 at Ewing.
Surviving are his wife, Marian A. McDonnough of Cutler; two sons, Richard McDonnough and William McDonnough, both of Cutler; two daughters, Doris Jeffers of Steeleville and Kathy McDonnough of Cutler; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell McDonnough of Tennessee and Pete McDonnough of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Verline Henson of Christopher and Delores Getzie of Pinckneyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Allen; three half-brothers; one half-sister and one sister.
Funeral services were Friday, December 6 at 11 a.m. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Keith Neal officiating. Interment was in Cutler cemetery.
Friends called at Wilson's Funeral Home after 6 p.m. on Thursday and on Friday from 7:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

W. Wesley Neville
W. Wesley Neville, 82, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:10 P.M., Thursday, December 12, 2002 at Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
Wesley was a retired plumbing contractor. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Du Quoin, Du Quoin American Legion, and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 160. He was Rotary Club Citizen of the Year in 1983 and a Boy Scout Leader for twenty-one years. He was a US Navy veteran of W.W.II.
He was born September 16, 1920 at Makanda, IL, the son of J. Wesley and Katie (Rendelman) Neville.
He married
Junietta P. Pugh on September 21, 1946 at Du Quoin, IL and she survives.
He is survived by one son - David Neville of McComb, IL, two daughters - Elaine Scruggs and husband Gary of Du Quoin, and Earlene Neville of Du Quoin, and one sister - June Page and husband Russell of Forsythe, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, December 15, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Bob Dickerson and Rev. Charles Smith officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park.

Albert Geroge Kravec
Albert 'Al' George Kravec, age 58, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Thursday, December 26, 2002.
Albert was born in Granite City on April 9, 1944, son of Andrew and Marie (Lesko) Kravec. he served with the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a data processing programmer and a five-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Waligorski of Las Vegas; son, James of St. Louis, Mo.; daughters, Callie of Las Vegas, Nev. and Sally of St. Louis, Mo. and sisters, Marie Adamick and Julie Becker, both of Collinisville.
His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on January 2, 2003 at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church in Las Vegas. A memorial service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City on January 31 at 11:30 a.m.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the National Brain Tumor Foundation (1-800-93-2837) or the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
George P. Kellerman
Mr. George P. Kellerman, of Mt. Prospect, formerly of the Pinckneyville area, departed this life at his residence on Saturday, December 7, 2002, surrounded by his family. He was 78.
George was born at Todds Mill on February 14, 1924, the son of George and Rose (nee Kurtz) Kellerman. He was united in marriage to Agnes Grzegorek at Posen on October 18, 1947 and she survives his passing.
Mr. Kellerman retired from the Navy in 1967 after serving 24 years, his last assignment being at the Glenview Naval Air Station. While serving in WW II, the ship that he was assigned to (LCI-782), was involved in the Battle of Okinawa. Upon leaving the service, Mr. Kellerman was employed at the Kitchens of Sara Lee in Deerfield for 20 years. At the time of his retirement, George held the position of Quality Control Manager.
Mr. Kellerman was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect, Knights of Columbus Fr. Dussman Council #3731, the VFW and the Moose Lodge of Mt. Prospect. He enjoyed his hobbies of gardening, traveling, cooking and especially baking. Family and Friends fondly remember his delicious breads, cookies, pies and cakes.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 55 years, Agnes Kellerman of Mt. Prospect; two daughters, Patricia Allison and husband Thomas of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Sharon Faltemeir and husband Edward of Mililani, Hi; one son, Mark Kellerman and wife Sandra of Palos Heights; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Timothy, Stacy and Matthew; other relations and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Paul, James and Charles.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todd's Mill on Thursday, December 12 at 10 a.m. with Fr. James Van Oss officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Friends called at the Campagna Funeral Home of Nashville on Wednesday from 4 until 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday from 7:30 until 9:30 a.m.
Vigil prayer services were held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
Helaen Eaton Taylor
Helen Eaton Taylor, 82, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away Sunday, November 10, 2002 at her home.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and a member of the East 91st Christian Church.
Surviving are her son, Richard D. Taylor; daughter, Linda C. Catt; brother, Merwin Eaton; sister, Ruth Wright and two granchildren, David M. Taylor and Trent A. Steed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar H. Taylor.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 14 at 11 a.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center at Washington Park East in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Friends called Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Center.
Interment was in Washington Park East.
Memorials may be made to the Rotary Foundation.
Sig Decker
Sig 'Junior' Decker, 83, formerly of Pinckneyville, died Monday, December 2, 2002 at the VA Hospital in Bay Pines, Fla.
Sig was born in 1919 in Pinckneyville. He was preceded in death by his parents Sigmund W. Decker and Amy (Erwin) Decker, two sisters, La Dora Mc Camish of Carterville and Margarite West of Pinckneyville and one brother, Wilbert Decker of Pinckneyville.
Sig married
Margaret (Groff) Decker in 1947 and she survives in Largo, Fla. They owned and operated the City Locker Plant for many years in Pinckneyville.
He is also survived by one son, James E. Decker and wife Deborah of High Ridge, Mo.; one daughter, Deborah (Decker) Hopkins and husband John of Du Quoin; five grandchildren, Robin Ackerman, Andrew and Catherine Decker, all of Missouri, and Amy and Michael Hopkins of Du Quoin and one great grandchild, Nicholas of Missouri.
Richard Wayne Wheatley
Richard Wayne Wheatley, 67, Sesser, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 6:25 a.m. at Parkview Care Center in West Frankfort.
Mr. Wheatley was a Coal Miner and of the Baptist Faith. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Sesser. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
He was born September 6, 1935 in DuQuoin, the son of Dean and Josephine Wheatley. He married
Janice Illeen Martin and she preceded him in death on February 13, 2001.
Surviving are his daughter-in-law, Frankie Wheatley of Valier; two sons, James Wright of Sesser and John Wright of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Arielle Wheatley, John Wheatley, Krista Furlow, Neika Wright and Monica Wright; four brothers and one sister.
He was preceded in death by one son, Shane Wheatley and one brother.
Funeral services were Tuesday, November 5 at 1 p.m. at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser with Bro. Woody Wilson officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery.
