Ihle Ione Eisenhauer
Ihle Ione Eisenhauer, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:50 A.M., Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
Ihle was a homemaker and had worked at Mallory Co. in Du Quoin. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and the Catholic Daughters.
She was born October 4, 1920 at Elkville, IL the daughter of Otis and Stella (Campbell) Swetland.
She married Bernard Eisenhauer on May 6, 1943 at St. Alphonsis Rock Church in St. Louis, MO. He passed away in March of 1983.
She is survived by two sons- David Eisenhauer and wife Karen of Du Quoin and Bruce Eisenhauer and wife Lori of Iuka, brother- Wilburn Swetland of Du Quoin, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. The Rosary was prayed at 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Sacred Heart Church or the Sacred Heart School.
Elizabeth A. Davison
Elizabeth A. Davison, 80, of Du Quoin went to be with the Lord at 5:03 P.M., Friday, February 20, 2004 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
She had worked at Marshall Browning Hospital laundry department for several years. She had also worked at Mallory Co. in Du Quoin, Good Luck Glove Factory in Carbondale, Du Quoin Packing Co. and the Pinckneyville Garment Factory.
Elizabeth was a real good and loving wife and mother, she was very devoted to her family. She was known for her excellent cooking abilities and her pie making.
She ws a member of the Spirit of Life Christian Church in Du Quoin.
She was born April 26, 1923 at Carterville, IL the daughter of Guy and Lucy (Peters) Williamson.
She married Allen Dale Davison on October 12, 1940 at Perryville, MO. He passed away March 4, 2001.
Elizabeth is survived by a daughter-DiAnna Hawk and husband Lybrand of Du Quoin, son- Allen Dale Davison Jr. and wife Delores of Du Quoin, granddaughter- Kimberly James of Du Quoin, three grandsons- Bill Hawk of Elkville, Allen Davison stationed with the US Navy, Thomas Davison of Herrin, great grandchildren- Lindsay King, Joshua King, Brooklyn Hawk, Taylor Hawk, Tyler Hawk, Bryleigh James, Elizabeth Davison and Jonathon Davison.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant brother- George Thomas Williamson, two sisters- Jane McCluney and Margaret Miller.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Keith Filer officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday at the church.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Faith Assembly of God Church.
Samuel Edward Davis
Samuel Edward Davis, 29, of rural Coulterville, died Saturday, February 14, 2004 as the result of an auto accident near Coulterville.
Sam was born in Sparta on February 23, 1974, a son of Samuel Anthony and Theresa Ann (Jones) Davis. He married Kristina Dawn 'Tina' Bird on August 19, 1997 in Swanwick and she survives.
He worked as an assembler at Nashville Interior Systems, Nashville, enjoyed BMX racing, motorcycle and 4-wheeler riding and playing with his kids.
Survivors include his wife, Tina of Coulterville; a son, Anthony Lee Davis at home; a daughter, Alyssa Dawn Elizabeth Davis at home; his parents, Samuel and Theresa Davis of St. Peters, Mo.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Toby and Denise Bird of Coulterville; grandmothers, Eula Irene Davis of Coulterville; Joan Birchler and husband Robert of Sparta; Irma Jones of Alabama and Elene Sieberg of Sparta, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Glenn Davis.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 17 at 1 p.m. in the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Coulterville, with Rev. Jim Start officiating. Interment was in the Coulterville City Cemetery.
Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Coulterville, on Monday from 4 until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Memorials may be made to the Family of Samuel Davis.
Charles R. Danner
Charles R. Danner, age 68, of Du Quoin, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2004 in the Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL at 4:05 p.m.
Charles was born on January 14, 1936 in Astoria, IL the son of Randall C. and Helen (Merrill) Danner. He married Connie R. Richardson on July 13, 1964 in Bath, IL and she survives. Charles worked as a welder for the Freeman United Coal Co. in Du Quoin, IL before retiring. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, the American Legion, and the N.R.A.
Survivors include his wife, Connie of Du Quoin, IL, a daughter, Jill Danner of Bath, IL, 2 grandchildren, Jami Danner and Robbie Oller, both of Bath, IL, 2 brothers, Stanley Danner and Steve Danner and wife Janine, all of Astoria, IL, 2 sisters, Pat Wilson and husband, Bill, of Galesburg, IL and Sharon McCollum of Springfield, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Gary Danner.
Charlie's wishes were to be cremated and no further services were planned.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the National Kidney Foundation or the American Legion.
Arrangements were with the Pyatt-Harrawood & Epplin Funeral Home in Du Quoin, IL.
Mary Margaret Cooper
Mary Margaret Cooper, age 81, of Mt. Vernon, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2004 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born September 2, 1922 in Rushville, Ill., the daughter of Claire Abner and Ann Margaret (Perkins) Rowland.
Mary was a graduate of Rushville High School and attended Western Illinois University. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She taught music at Casey Junior High School for several years, was also a Licensed Practical Nurse and an organist at the First Presbyterian Church for many years.
Mrs. Cooper was also the first female to serve on the Jefferson County Board. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, N.E.A., I.E.A., Order of the Eastern Star, First Day Singers and Musicians Union #348.
Survivors include four sons, Mac and wife Barbara Cooper of Rushville, Joe and wife Jo Dawn Cooper of Mt. Carmel, Duff Cooper of Bradenton, Fla. and Tad and wife Susan Cooper of Du Quoin; one daughter, Lucy and husband Stephen Kozak of Bradenton, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Anna Bess Street, formerly of Bradenton, Fla.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, February 24 at 7 p.m. at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Paul Widicus officiating.
The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Rushville. Interment was at a later date at Rushville City Cemetery.
Nadine Stroup Clark
Nadine Stroup Clark, age 89, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2004.
Nadine was formerly co-owner of Du Quoin Auto Supply with her husband Arthur F. Stroup. She was a long-time member of the Du Quoin Christian Church. Nadine enjoyed travel, spending time with family and playing Bridge, achieving the ranking of Grand Master.
She is survived by one sister, Lillian Lashly; brothers, Kenneth and Lavell Hall; grandchildren, Brian T. (Eileen) Atwell, Kevin H. (Michelle) Atwell, Joan L. (Bob) Boroff and Jeffrey B. (Tracy) Atwell; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur f. Stroup and J. Russell Clark; daughter, Sandra Stroup (Thomas) Atwell and sister, Lillian Lashly.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 23 at Bane Funeral & Memorial Center Chapel in St. Charles, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
