Lorene Kelley Moody
Lorene Kelley Moody, 83, of DuQuoin, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 1999 at her residence.
Lorene was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of DuQuoin.
She was born September 15, 1915 at Freeman Spur, IL, the daughter of Edward and Ida (Scarborough) Kelley. She married Roy Herbert (Hub) Moody on July 6, 1941 at Cape Girardeau, MO and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of DuQuoin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Carol Jean and Kathy Moody; four brothers and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at the Old DuQuoin Cemetery with Rev. Bob Dickerson and Rev. John Somers officiating.
The Searby Funeral Home of DuQuoin was in charge of arrangements.
Interment was in the Old DuQuoin Cemetery.
Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church of DuQuoin or the Perry County Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Frances L. McDonald
Frances L. McDonald, 73, of DuQuoin, formerly of Joliet, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 1999 at her residence.
Frances was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.
She was born February 22, 1926 at Eldorado, Ark., the daughter of W.D. and Pearlie (Allison) Frazier. She married Charles A. McDonald on November 26, 1944 at Hugo, Okla. and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Brad) Purnell of DuQuoin and Pixie (Jim) Koenig of Channahon, IL; two sons, Charles (Mary) McDonald of Lemont, IL and David (Cathryn) McDonald of Channahon, IL; two sisters, Valeria Alexander of Tyler, TX and Margare Ballard of Paris, TX; two brothers, Jerry Frazier of Petoluma, Calif. and Gary Frazier of El Paso, TX and seven grandchildren, Bradley and Michael Purnell, Charles McDonald, Jr., Amie and Thomas Benson and Andrea and Alyse McDonald.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jesse Hodges and Anita Kahey.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 15, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. at Westwood Memorial Chapel in Joliet. Friends called from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Westwood Memorial Chapel on Tuesday.
Interment was in the Woodlawn Memorial Park at Joliet.
The Searby Funeral Home of DuQuoin was in charge of local arrangements.

Ethel Nora Krug
Ethel Nora Krug, 92, of Lincoln, IL,Passed away at 8:20 p.m. Friday, June 18, 1999 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, IL.
Mrs. Krug worked in the Sangamon County Treasurers Office for six years and was a Clothing Manager at LDC for 14 years. She was a member of the Sixth St. Christian Church of Springfield, IL.
She was born January 5, 1907 in Big Hill, KY, the daughter of John Waddell and Ida Woodyard. She married Walter Krug on February 17, 1924 at Christopher and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Lee and wife Glenna of Morton, IL, Dr. Ronald Krug of Sedona, AZ, Mrs. Jack (Dorlis) Kirschner of St. Charles, MO and Mrs. Robert (Duaine) Wigger of Salem, SC; two sisters, Alta Morgan of DuQuoin and Ida Duddleston of Denver, CO; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; nine sisters, one brother, Otis Woodyard and one son, Cecil.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 22 at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL with Rev. Tom Gerdts officiating.
Interment was in Zion Cemetery in Lincoln, IL.
Memorials may be made to the heart association.

Cecil E. Krug -
Cecil E. Krug of Florissant, MO passed away Saturday, January 16, 1999. Cecil had many friends in the DuQuoin area.
He was born February 7, 1924 in DuQuoin, the son of Walter and Ethel Krug. He was united in marriage to Margaret E. Hampton on April 26, 1942.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret E. Krug of Florissant, MO; children, Steven Krug and wife Margie, Nancy Stewart and husband Keith and Bruce, Veronica and Lance Krug; his mother, Ethel Krug of Lincoln, IL; grandchildren, Amy, Chris and Tim Schulte, Nicklas and Caleb Krug, Rachel Perry and Jennifer Krug; brothers, Leland, Ronald, Dwayne and Darbs; sister-in-law, Maxine Prudent of Zeigler; nephews, Frank Derbak, John Prudent and Robert Prudent and niece, Joan Coarse.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 19, 1999 at the Hutchen’s Mortuary in Florissant, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made to Florissant Valley Christian Church at 1325 N. Hwy. 67, Florissant, MO 63031.

Everett Henry Guenther -
Everett Henry Guenther, age 90, of Waterloo, formerly of the Pinckneyville and Swanwick areas, died in the Canterbury Manor Nursing Home in Waterloo on Thursday, January 28, 1999 at 1:04 p.m.
Mr. Guenther was born in Swanwick on September 16, 1908, the son of Henry and Catherine (Socteber) Guenther. He married Nora Alma Schatte in Pinckneyville on September 24, 1937 and she preceded him in death on July 31, 1983. Everett worked as a farmer and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville.
Survivors include seven daughters, Marleen Penick and husband Bill of Waterloo, Alberta DeLapp and husband Olan of Imperial, MO, Roberta Dowdell of Land of Lakes, FL, Sharon Gutjahr and husband Al of Nashville, Thelma Reiman and husband Ron of Ava, Betty Birchler and husband Ed of Sparta and Kathy Guenther of Waterloo; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Lester; three sisters, Edna Becker, Helen McCrary and Mamie Guenther; one granddaughter, Stephanie Birchler and two sons-in-law.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 31, 1999 at the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim McIntyre and Rev. James Bush officiating. Interment was in the Swanwick Bethel Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Canterbury Manor Nursing Home Courtyard Project in Waterloo, IL.

Lucille B. Schwarz -
Lucille B. Schwarz, 81, of 209 Plum Ave. Morton, IL, passed away January 21, 1999 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born March 22, 1917 in Pinckneyville, the daughter of Carl and Alma Beck nee Evers. She married Albert Schwarz October 16, 1938.
Mrs. Schwarz worked as a greeter at the Wal-Mart Store in Washington, IL until the time of her death.
Left to mourn her passing are one son, Nelson Schwarz and wife Judy of Kalispall, Montana; two sisters, Amelia Paasch of Pinckneyville and Alberta Schrader of Steeleville; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; one daughter, Janeth Fick; one great-granddaughter, Heather and three sisters, Alvera Witter, Florence Schnapel and Edith Pick.
Lucille will be missed, but when you see a twinkle from a star or a rain drop, she is there.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Krupp-Schwebel Funeral Home in Pinckneyville. Burial was at the Lost Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Krupp-Schwebel Funeral Home.

Florence Alta Chastain -
Florence Alta Chastain, 87, of DuQuoin, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 1999 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in DuQuoin. Florence was a homemaker and a Baptist. While a resident of the high-rise in DuQuoin she enjoyed her many friends and activities.
She was born February 18, 1911 at DuQuoin, the daughter of Louis Alfed and Anna Olive (Anderson) Teaney. She married Carl Wilson Chastain on October 1, 1927 at St. Louis, MO. He passed away January 17, 1988.
She is survived by one son, Carl Lewis Chastain and wife Connie of St. Charles, MO; two brothers, Robert Teaney of DuQuoin and Kenneth Teaney of Lewiston, Idaho; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one nephew and two nieces including Janet Pyron and husband Ray who were her loving caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
At Mrs. Chastain’s request, cremation services were held. There will be no service or visitation.
The Searby Funeral Home of DuQuoin was in charge of arrangements.
