Anna L. Kennedy
Anna L. Kennedy, 88, of DuQuoin, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
Anna was a homemaker and had worked for 13 years at the Marshall Browning Hospital in the maternity department. She was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in DuQuoin. She was born September 10, 1912 at DuQuoin, the daughter of Robert and Clara (Knight) Cavins.
She married
Raymond Lester Kennedy on February 12, 1932. He passed away July 1, 1982.
She is survived by a daughter- Kay Vancil of DuQuoin, four grandchildren- Amy Melinda Ramsey of Dowell, Jason Paul Vancil, Amanda Renee Vancil and Meleny Nicole Rucks, all of DuQuoin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter- Ruth Ann Kennedy and one sister- Ruth McCollum.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Keith Filer officiating.
Friends called from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home.
Interment was in the IOOF cemetery at DuQuoin.
Wm. E. Thorn
Wm. E. Thorn, born June 27, 1936, died April 29, 2001 of cancer. Bill grew up in Christopher, the son of Sylvan and Margaret Thorn and graduated from Christopher Community High School in 1954. During his high school years, he participated in most high school athletics. He spent most of his career in and retired from the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force, he was awarded two Bronze Stars in 1973. He also received a Bachelors Degree from McKendree College and a Master's Degree from Webster College in Missouri. Following his retirement from the USAF he worked in the area of Hospital Administration and retired from Alexian Brothers Hospital in 1995 and moved to Tamaroa.
Bill leaves behind his wife Karen and his three children, Jonathan, Kary and Matthew and four grandchildren. Bill also leaves behind his brothers Stuart of Prescott, Arizona and John of Hannibal, Mo.
Memorial services were held at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher on Sunday, May 6, 2001 at 2 p.m.
Perry Ray Ward
Perry Ray Ward, 75, of DuQuoin, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2001 at 10:25 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Mr. Ward was a Machinist at Streamline Mine. He was a member of Sunfield United Methodist Church, DuQuoin American Legion Post 647, DuQuoin VFW Post 513, UMWA and the National Rifle Association. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II.
He was born April 25, 1925 at Nashville, the son of Clyde and Esther (Moellur) Ward. He married
Catherine Eaton on July 17, 1946 at Sunfield.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine Ward of DuQuoin and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Funeral services were Wednesday, April 25 at 2 p.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Dunn officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.
Friends called at Neal-McClure Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. until time of service.
Mary Ann LePinski
Mary Ann LePinski, 79, of DuQuoin, passed away at 2:13 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2001 at Fair Acres Nursing Home in DuQuoin.
Mrs. LePinski had been a Nurses Aide. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was born May 23, 1921 at St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Michael and Antonia (Kruzich)Crnkovich. She married
LeRoy LePinski in Chicago in 1944.
Surviving are one son, Michael LePinski of Elgin; one cousin, Jo Melonowski of Elgin; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. LePinski was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.
Funeral services were Wednesday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at Maxton Funeral Chapel with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery in Evergreen Park, Ill.
Friends called after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Lena Lima
Lena Lima, 89, of DuQuoin, passed away Monday, April 23, 2001 at 3:05 a.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital.
Mrs. Lima was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.
She was born May 16, 1911 at Villa Rosa, Sicily, the daughter of Philip and Josephine (Guelli) Aleo. She married
Joseph Lima on April 26, 1930 at DuQuoin. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1982.
Surviving are three sons, Joe Lima of Columbus, Ohio, Philip Lima of Goodyear, Ariz. and Joseph Lima of Aurora, Colo.; one brother, Joseph Aleo of Taylorville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lima was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son- Sam, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 26 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart cemetery at DuQuoin.
Friends called at Neal-McClure Funeral Home Wednesday, April 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 7:30 to 9:45 a.m. at which time we moved to the church for the service.
The Rosary was said Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Sacred Heart School Giving Fund.
Anna A. Wilkerson
Anna A. Wilkerson, 105, formerly of 301 West Main St., DuQuoin, passed away at 11:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001 at Fair Acres Nursing Home in DuQuoin.
Mrs. Wilkerson was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DuQuoin.
She was born September 25, 1895 in DuQuoin, the daughter of Max and Caroline (Hausauer) Hemmerley. She married
Oscar Wilkerson on April 3, 1920 at St. Louis, Mo. and he preceded her in death in 1962.
Surviving are four nieces, Juanita Ray of DuQuoin, Harriet West of DuQuoin, Patricia Wolfe of Bartlett and Carolyn Koerner of Effingham and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and five sisters.
Graveside services were Tuesday, April 17 at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in DuQuoin with Father Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends called after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Maxton Funeral Home. The Rosary was said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chapel.

Jack E. Williams
Jack E. Williams, age 75, of Pinckneyville, died Thursday, April 24, 2001 at 11:49 p.m. in St. John's Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Jack was born in DuQuoin on February 8, 1926, the son of Sandusky Valmer Williams and Jennie (Wilson) Williams. He married
Shirley M. Taylor in Pinckeyville on April 12, 1952 and she survives. Jack served in the U.S. Army Cavalry during World War II and owned and operated Jack Williams Construction for 20 years before working as a carpenter and contractor for Contempri Industries of Pinckneyville. He was a member of the First Christian Church in DuQuoin and was a member of the Pinckneyville Eagles Club.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Pinckneyville, a son, Rick Williams of Chipley, Fla. and a daughter, Sheila Williams of Fort Worth, Tex., two sisters, Mabel Koen of Murphysboro and Irene Melmuka of St. Peters, Mo., along with numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. H e was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Harry Frank and Arthur and one sister, Louise Roznowski.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville on Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Bush officiating. Interment was in the Mueller Hill cemetery in Pinckneyville.
Visitation was held at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home on Friday, April 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. then at the church until time of services.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Iva M. Miller
Iva M. Miller, age 91, of 106 East Street, Pinckneyville, passed away Friday morning, April 6, 2001 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
Iva was born May 26, 1909 in DuQuoin, the daughter of Edgar and Dora Ann (Stotz) O'Neil. She was united in marriage August 2, 1931 to Earl R. Miller and he preceded her in death August 13, 1956. Iva worked as a hospital dietitian and cook, was a member of the Roe's Dale Baptist Church and Senior Citizens in Pinckneyville and a lifelong resident of Pinckneyville.
Iva is survived by a son, Melvin Miller and his wife Bernadette of Pinckneyville; a daughter, Linda Wright and husband Gary of Charleston, West Virginia; one sister, Florence Husband of Oklahoma; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Elvis, William Howard and George Mitchell and one grandson, Donnie Ray Chapman.
Funeral services were Monday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville with Father John Venegoni officiating. Interment was in the Mueller Hill cemetery in Pinckneyville.
Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville Sunday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until services.

Lola K. Murray
Lola K. Murray, 82, of Nashville, formerly of Tamaroa, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at the Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville.
Lola was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nashville and a member of the Amoma Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the AARP.
She was born August 24, 1918 at Tamaroa, the daughter of Blanche (Bell) Murray and was raised by her grandparents, Dora and James Bell of Tamaroa.
She is survived by cousins and numerous other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5 at the Tamaroa cemetery with Bro. Dennis Nagy officiating.
There was no visitation.
The Searby Funeral Home of Tamaroa was in charge of arrangements.
Interment was in the Tamaroa cemetery.

Rodney David Montgomery
Rodney David Montgomery, age 81, of Coulterville, died Friday, April 13, 2001 at 4:10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Rodney was born in Coulterville on September 24, 1919, the son of Dave and Mayme (Birchler) Montgomery. He married
Biddy Elizabeth Bryan on June 2, 1943 in Clayton, Mo. and she survives. He was a farmer, a coal miner with Peabody Coal Company for 33 years prior to his retirement, a member of the Coulterville United Methodist Church, a member of the United Mine Workers of American Local 1148 and a member of the Perry County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife: Elizabeth of Coulterville, son: Raymond Montgomery and his wife, Edith Ann, of Sparta, daughters: Madelyn Hill, and her husband, Leslie Dale, of Pinckneyville, and Alice true, and her husband, Rick of Richview, brother: James D. Montgomery, and his wife, Lee, of Arnold, Mo., sisters: Dorothy Leming of Coulterville, Cleo Jones of Collinsville, Opal Wilson of Coulterville, and Beth Bumann of Sparta, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Myron D. Montgomery, brothers: D.J. and lester, sisters: Lena Leming, Viola Leming, Verna McBride, Imogene Woodside and Alice Woodside.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m. in the Coulterville United Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Arnold officiating. Interment was in the Coulterville City cemetery.
Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Coulterville, on Sunday, April 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Then at the church until services.

Carlan Ann Nenninger
Carlan Ann Nenninger, age 48, of Glen Carbon, Ill, died Thursday, April 5, 2001 at Sunrise Care for Carlinville, Carlinville, Ill. She was born February 26, 1953 in Red Bud. Her parents are Hugh C. Nenninger and Agnes C. Conner Nenninger
Carlan was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Collinsville.
She is lovingly survived by her father, Hugh Nenninger of Glen Carbon; her Aunt Grace (nee Conner) Meyer of Belleville, cousins and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother; grandparents, Fred and Emma (nee Kauffman) Conner and Louis and Stella (nee Longlitz) Nenninger.
Private family services were held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home. Entombment was in Valhalla Gardens of Memory on Monday, April 9 with Rev. Dave Stabenfeldt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, Collinsville.

Croccifixio Pastorelli
Dr. Croccifixio "Cross' Pastorelli, 37, of Herrin, died Friday, April 6, 2001 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis as a result of a motorcycle accident. Upon his death, his organs and tissues were donated to benefit others.
Croccifixio Maurice Pastorelli was born October 3, 1963 to Maurice and Silvianna (Agnetti) Pastorelli in Manhattan, New York. He worked with his parents and five brothers in the family's butcher shop in Little Italy until leaving to pursue his academic studies.
He was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine specializing in Reproductive Biotechnology. He completed his undergraduate studies in 1983 at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. He later graduated with honors from the Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, New York in 1987 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine.
Upon his graduation, he started his Veterinary career as a researcher at he James A. Baker Institute for Animal Health in ithaca, New York. He came to Southern Illinois in 1995 to continue his research and to start his own large animal practice, where he was later joined by Dr. Josef Giancana and Dr. Chance Fisher. He was honored last year by the American Veterinary Association for his research efforts in Bovine Reproduction.
Dr. Pastorelli loved restoring vintage Harley Davidson motorcycles and playing hockey. He was a Catholic and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Manhattan, New York. He was also an active member of Mensa International, the American Veterinary Association and the National Reproductive Practitioners Society. He volunteered both his time and services to many animal charities. He had a fondness for roller blading with his Great Dane, Odessa, by his side.
He is survived by his parents, Maurice and Silvianna Pastorelli; his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Angelo and Maria Pastorelli; his brother and sister-in-law, Santino and Molly Pastorelli, all of Manhattan, New York; his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Dominic and Talia Pastorelli of Trenton, New Jersey; his brother Giovanni Pastorelli of Boston, Massachusetts and his brother, Mercuito Pastorelli of Brooklyn, New York and eight nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his best friend and colleague, Dr. Chance Fisher of DuQuoin.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Saffron Pastorelli.
Services were held Wednesday, April 11 at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Manhattan, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to your local Humane Society.
