Jennie Armour Keene Cunningham -
Jennie Armour Keene Cunningham, age 90 of Pinckneyville, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 1999 in the Abbey in Carbondale.
Mrs.. Cunningham was born in Pinckneyville on July 2, 1908, the daughter of Ben F. Keene and Mary Louise Baker Keene.
She married Russell Edward Cook in November of 1928 and to this union a son, Donald Edward Cook and a daughter, Jane Eleanor Cook were born. Russell preceded her in death in 1941 and she married James W. Cunningham on September 27, 1954. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1991.
Jennie was baptized at age nine as a member of the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville. She worked as an LPN for numerous years at the Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
She is survived by her son, Donald Cook and wife Phillis of Springfield, MO; her daughter, Jane Hill and husband Richard of Marion; one sister, Klementine McMurray of Springfield; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 23 at the Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville at 2:00 p.m.. with Rev. James Bush officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pinckneyville.
Leroy F. Eisenhauer -
Leroy F. Eisenhauer, age 79, of Vergennes, formerly of Pinckneyville, passed away Monday, February 8, 1999 at 12:25 a.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Leroy was born on December 25, 1919 in Jackson County, the son of Ed and Lena E. (Hanke) Eisenhauer. He was of the Christian faith and worked for many years at Barber Sawmill in DuQuoin.
Survivors include two brothers, Edgar Eisenhauer of DuQuoin and Billie Eisenhauer and wife Patricia of Vergennes; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and two very special friends, Jim and Barbara Gooden. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Mildred Eisenhauer.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the McElvain Cemetery in rural DuQuoin.
Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville was entrusted with the arrangements.
Rondle Wayne Lipe -
Rondle Wayne Lipe, 45, of Orlando, FL, formerly of DuQuoin and Canton, passed away Monday, February 15, 1999 at Hollifax Medical Center in Daytona, FL.
Ron was an Electrical Engineer for the Orange County Civic Convention center in Orlando. He was a Baptist and a member of the Elks Club of Canton, IL He was an avid NASCAR fan.
He was born February 1, 1954 at Anna, the son of Rondle Ray and Eloise (Toler) Lipe. He married Vinnette Thompson and she survives.
He is survived by his wife, Vinnette Lipe of Orlando; one daughter, Shaylee Marie Lipe of Orlando; his parents, Rondle Ray and Eloise Lipe of Vergennes; one brother, Kevin Lipe of DuQuoin; one sister, Julie Lipe of Redwood City, CA and Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services were Friday, February 19, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. at the Searby Funeal Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Darrell Porter and Rev. Carroll Toler officiating.
Interment was in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
Friends may make memorials to a trust fund established for his daughter, Shaylee Marie Lipe, or to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Margaret L. Barkus
Margaret L. Barkus, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:45 A.M., Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at the Fair View Nursing Center in Du Quoin.
Margaret and her husband had resided in Dowell for several years where her husband served as mayor for twelve years. They then moved to California and Margaret returned to Du Quoin after her husband's death in 1982.
Margaret was a loving, giving and kind person. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church. She was active in the Senior Citizen and was a member of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary and the Du Quoin American Legion Auxiliary.
She was born May 15, 1916 at Alto Pass, IL the daughter of Harvey and Maude (Wright) Hickem.
She married Anthony Barkus on October 31, 1935 at Benton, IL, he preceded her in death March 10, 1982.
She was a loving mother to her daughters- Marilyn Jones and husband Jimmy of Ridgecrest, CA and Judith Cox and husband Paul of Scottsdale, AZ and a loving grandmother to her grandchildren- Alicia Whitson of Medford, OR and Shannon and Heather Cox of Scottsdale, AZ, loving great grandmother to Amber and Gavin Whitson of Medford, OR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters- Ruth, Kenneth, Harry, Louise, Burnell, Paul and Marie.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 4, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Ted Clark officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Justin Bollinger
Justin 'Rusty' Bollinger, 25, of Chicago, formerly of Kenosha, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, January 21, 2003 in Chicago.
Born in Du Quoin on February 24, 1977, he was the son of Greg Bollinger and Benequea Hale. He came from Great Lakes Naval Base to Kenosha in 1986 and attended Tremper High School.
He was employed as a bricklayer in Chicago and the Chicago Suburbs.
Surviving are his mother and step-father, Benequea (Dan) Reeves of Bristol, Wis.; his father and step-mother, Greg (Denise) Bollinger of Kenosha; a brother, Neil Bollinger of Bristol, Wis.; a step-brother, Troy Reeves of Bristol, Wis.; four step-sisters, Shannon Reeves of Bristol, Wis. Amy-Rae, Jesse Lynn and Shannan, all of Kenosha and his paternal grandfather, Nelson Bollinger of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benjamin and Millie Hale and Shirley Bollinger.
Funeral services for Justin 'Rusty' Bollinger were on Saturday, January 25 at Proko Funeral Home 5111-60th St. at 3 p.m. Visitation was held on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services at Proko Funeral Home.
Richard William Craig
Richard William Craig, 71, formerly of Pinckneyville, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Coral Springs Medical Center in Coral Springs, Fla.
Mr. Craig was born June 2, 1931 to Kenneth and Mildred (Peak) Craig in Pinckneyville. He married Margaret Brown on June 7, 1952 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2002. She survives in Lady Lake, Fla.
He was employed with Union Pacific Railroad (formerly Missouri Pacific) for 36 years in their corporate offices in St. Louis, Mo. and Omaha, Neb. He served in the Army Reserves for eight years.
He is survived by four children, Patricia Roseboom and husband Al, grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary and Joshua of Coral Springs, Fla.; Richard Jr. and his wife Lisa, grandchildren Andrea and Laura of Glen Carbon, Ill.; James and wife Karen, grandchild Sarah of New Town, Conn.; Jean Edwards and husband William, grandchildren Mandy, Chris and Rebecca of Highland and three brothers, Roger of Solon, Iowa, Don of Pinckneyville and Gary of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Leesburg, Fla.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 7 at the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville with Rev. Mark Lee officiating.
Elna H. Davison
Elna H. Davison, 77, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:55 A.M., Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Elna was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin, Catholic Daughters, and Sacred Heart Church Choir.
She was born March 6, 1925 at Du Quoin, the daughter of John and Cleta (Bailie) Howell.
She married William R. Davison on April 10, 1948 at Du Quoin and he preceded her in death on August 10, 1995.
She is survived by two daughters - Elizabeth Ann Kopshever and husband Edward of McMurray, Pennsylvania and Dana Perardi and husband David of Du Quoin, one grandson - Brad Riggio and wife Michele of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, two granddaughters - Kelly Kopshever of McMurray, Pennsylvania and Jill Perardi of Dayton, Ohio, one great-grandson - Bryan Christopher of McMurray, Pennsylvania, one sister - Winifred "Mickey" Pitt and husband Harvey of Du Quoin, and one sister-in-law - Mary Armstrong and husband Bob of Du Quoin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers - Jack Howell and William Howell.
Funeral services were at Noon, Friday, January 31, 2003 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends called from 10 AM to 11:45 AM, Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
