Mary Sue Jones
Mary Sue Jones, 60, 420 Parker Rd., Raleigh, died 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001 at her home.
She was married to Johnnie Jones, who survives.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2001 at Watson Funeral Home, Eldorado. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001 at the funeral home. Burial is in Wolf Creek cemetery.
Further family details are pending from Watson Funeral Home, Eldorado.

Dr. Quentin C. Wilson
Dr. Quentin C. Wilson, 82, of Eldorado died peacefully at his home 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, after an extended illness.
A native of Eldorado, the son of George F. and Aileen (Goldman) Wilson, he was born Sept. 30, 1919. His life was devoted to service to the people of the Eldorado area, primarily as an optometrist and as a firefighter - and in many facets of daily life ranging from church to school to recreation.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Eldorado First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Cullers officiating with burial to be in Wolf Creek cemetery.
Friends may call 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Watson Funeral Home, Eldorado.
His wife, Louise (Wallace) Wilson whom he married Jan. 27, 1944, survives him.
He also is survived by a son, George Q. Wilson of Harrisburg; two daughters, Nancy Lou (Gene) Morris and Chloe Ann (Tom) Clore, both of Eldorado; eight grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Wilson, Chris Wilson, Kent Morris, Betsy Lou Morris, Angela Morris, John Clore, Emily Clore and Andrew Clore; and one great-grandchild, Logan Robert Wilson.
His parents preceded him in death.
A 1936 graduate of Eldorado High School, He attended Southern Illinois Normal University (now Southern Illinois University at Carbondale) for two years before entering Monroe College of Optometry, where he graduated in 1942.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II and following the war, opened his optometry practice in Eldorado.
For the next 50 years he practiced optometry and served the community, primarily with the Eldorado Fire Department.
Dr. Wilson served as a firefighter for nine years as a volunteer and for 34 years as volunteer chief.
In addition to serving as fire chief, he was the community's Civil Defense director.
Along with the fire department, Dr. Wilson also served community groups.
He was a past president of the Eldorado Chamber of Commerce, Eldorado Rotary Club and Friends of Eldorado Library. He was a past member of the Eldorado-Raleigh Park Board, Eldorado School Board, Eldorado Town and Country Days committee and Southern Illinois Optometric Association.
He was a life member of the SIU Alumni Association and, in 1996, was the Eldorado Citizen of the Year.
He served the Eldorado First Baptist Church, where he was a member and a past Sunday school teacher and Sunday school director.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eldorado First Baptist Church or to VNA Hospice. Envelopes for the purpose are available at the funeral home.

Gordon N. Pankey
Gordon N. Pankey, 74, of White Lake, Mich., formerly of Harrisburg, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002.
Services will held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002 at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Rd, Waterford, Mich. Burial will be at All Saints cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at the funeral home.
He was born June 16, 1927, in Harrisburg.
Mr. Pankey retired from General Motors Pontiac Motor Division and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the National Street Rod Association and the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter, Roger Pankey of White Pigeon, Mich., Glen (Sherri) Pankey of Waterford, Mich., and Gwen (Jim) Jensen of Fenton, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Holly, Tiffany, Ashley, Neil, Emily, Craig, and Erica; and a great-granddaughter, Madilyn.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Pankey.

Mary L. Fulton
Mary L. Fulton, 83, of 22400 Healy Rd., Omaha, died 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Services were held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha with the Rev. Chris Rego officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge cemetery in New Haven. Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born in Norris City on June 18, 1918, to the late Virgil H. and Anna Maude (Calvin) Moore. On July 19, 1942, she married Layton E. Fulton, who preceded her in death on March 12, 1997.
She was a member of the Omaha Nazarene Church.
She is survived by two sons, Keith Fulton of Omaha, and Dwight Fulton of Norris City.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Morris.

Hazel Heath
Hazel Heath, 92, of Ridgway, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Ferrel Hospital in Eldorado.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Burial will be in Jackson cemetery in Ridgway. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 28, 1910, near Cottonwood to the late William and Nolas (Dillard) Anderson. She was married to Fred Heath, who preceded her in death in 1951.
She was a member of the Eastern Star in Ridgway and was a Past Worthy Matron. She was a General Baptist by faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Baker of Equality and Cheryl (Donnie) Mills of Morganfield, Ky.; two sons, Ray (Glenda) Heath of Eldorado and Carl (Becky) Heath of Marion; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Martha S. Mitchell
Martha S. Mitchell, 95, of Golconda, died 3 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare.
Services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Hosick Funeral Home in Golconda with the Rev. Billie Green officiating.
Burial was in Waltersburg cemetery in Golconda. Visitation was 1 p.m. until funeral home Sunday at the funeral home.
She was survived by a sister, Elizabeth Kirk of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Frances Davis of Golconda; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Nora (Owens) Davis; her husband, Alvis "Doc" Mitchell; two sisters, Ethel Kluge and Annie Chambers, and three brothers, Ralph, Malcolm, and William Davis.

Velma Richey
Velma Richey, 85, of Carrier Mills, died 6 p.m. Feb. 3, 2002, at the Harrisburg Care Center.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Alan Overstreet and the Rev. J.D. Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Salem cemetery in Carrier Mills. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 3, 1917, in Carrier Mills to the late Harrison and Annie (Lewis) Brandon.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Carrier Mills.
She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Tolbert of Carrier Mills; a close friend, Ruth Asbell of Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews, including Peggy Overstreet and Mike Brandon, both of Carrier Mills, Barbara Rice of Swansea, and Betty Troutman of Mt. Vernon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the V.N.A. Hospice and left at the funeral home.

Truman M. Rankin
Truman M. Rankin, 84, of Omaha, formerly of Springerton, died 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Bro. Joe Rockett officiating. Burial will be in Hammock cemetery near Springerton. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, three grandsons, four great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, a nephew, a great-nephew, a great-niece, a great-great-nephew, and a great-great-niece.
