David Eugene Owens
David Eugene Owens, 60, of Harrisburg, died 8:47 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2002, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare with the Rev. Randy Stillwell officiating, Burial will be in Cave Hill cemetery in Cave-in-Rock. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2002, at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Rita (Scott) Owens; a daughter, Darlene (Owens) Pickering; two sons, David Todd Owens and Elmer Cox Jr.; two sisters, Wanda Jean (Owens) Jackson of Rosiclare and Francis Louise (Owens) Krug of Harrisburg; a brother, Bobby Joe Owens of Eldorado; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Owens, his mother, Dorothy (Bryant) Owens, and nine brothers and sisters.
Shirley Fisher
Shirley Fisher, 45, of Creal Springs, died 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Marion Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Tim Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson-Wise cemetery near Ozark. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born July 17, 1956, to the late Lloyd Bundren and Mildren Irene (Hill) Bundren, who survives and resides in New Burnside. On Sept. 27, 1975, she married
Daniel Fisher, who survives.
She was a paramedic and was employed by the Pulaski County Ambulance Company. She attended the New Burnside Community Church.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by two sons, Daniel Lloyd Fisher and Joseph Wayne Fisher, both of Creal Springs.
Opal Della Ross
Opal Della Ross, 91, formerly of Eldorado, died Feb. 19, 2002, in Alma, Ark.
Graveside services and interment were in Dyer cemetery, Dyer, Ark.
She was born June 25, 1909, in Eldorado, to the late Hettie and Emmett Livingston.
She was the widow of William Ross.
Mrs. Ross is survived by six children, two sisters, Jacqueline Pemberton of Eldorado and Margaret Williams of Evansville, Ind.; nieces and nephews, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
John 'Red' Franklin Price
John "Red" Franklin Price, died 2 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Galatia.
He was born Feb. 7, 1926, the son of Frank and Irene (Morgan) Price at West Frankfort. He was married
to Lita Unsell of Harrisburg on March 14, 1950 at Big Ridge Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
Survivors include a daughter Linda by a former marriage, two sons, Terence T. Price and wife Yvonne, their two sons, Alexander and Zane of Benecia, Calif.; J. Mark Price and wife Cynthia and their daughters Ashlyn and Victoria of Fullbrook, Calif.; two grandsons, Christopher Price of Harrisburg and Shawn Trodglen of Atlanta, Ga.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and BPOE of West Frankfort. His favorite adventure in life as an engineer was designing and testing the first missile engines in the space race, following up to helping train the first astronauts, culminating with putting man on the moon. He then worked in defense, installing the ballistic missiles across America and was base manager at Little Rock, Ark. Air Force Base. His last work was designing and constructing nuclear power plants. He worked extensively with the booster club in his son's high schools, aiding in sports and education. He is still remembered for his innovative efforts in raising not only money but enthusiasm. He made life an adventure for all around him and his infectious smile was only superceded by his giving heart. To know him was to love him.
At his wishes, the body has been cremated, and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Denny Steed officiating.
Janet Williams
Janet Williams, 53, of 425 Beech Hollow Rd., Harrisburg, died 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Equality. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born in Marion April 16, 1948 to Mary (Miller) Baker and the late James Baker. On May 22, 1965, she married
Larry Ray Williams, who survives.
She was a member of Harco Baptist Church and an agent for Gall & Williams Real Estate Agency in Harrisburg.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by two daughters, Shelley (Casey) Martin of Harrisburg and Angela (J.P.) Holland of Eldorado; a sister, Sue Holmes of Creal Springs; a brother, Bob Baker of Eldorado; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at Maumee Baptist cemetery, Ind. There will be no visitation. Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born July 7, 1922, to James and Pearl (DeDell) Deal in Johnson, Ind.
He was a lumberjack and timber cutter and a member of Maumee Baptist Church.
He is survived by five sisters, Stella Matthews of Lawrenceville, Mary E. Ramsey of Evansville, Ind., Lois Ross of Princeton, Ind., Virgie Dillard of Mt. Carmel, and Ruby Fuller of Crossville.

Betty J. Saxe
Betty J. Saxe, 76, of Albion died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion. Rev. Kirk Smith will officiate, with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday, June 21, at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Golden Gate, the daughter of Bennie and Emma J. (Bowman) Hudson.
She married
Dwight Saxe on Oct. 16, 1947, in Golden Gate.
She worked at the Veterans Administration for 10 years, the ASC Office for five years, and was a school bus driver for 27 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Wesley Belle Circle and the H.O.A. Club.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight Saxe of Albion; one son, Kenny Saxe of Mt. Carmel; three daughters, Linda Saxe of Harrisburg, Elaine Zetina of Haubstadt, Ind., and Mary Beth and husband Steve Smith of Albion; two brothers, Kenneth Hudson of Sterling and Forrest Hudson of Rock Falls; two sisters, Alice Buccola of Dixon and Judy Barnes of Bloomington; and six grandchildren, John and Ben Zetina; Jonathan, Courtney and Kendra Saxe, and Gabriel Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.
