Phillip Suttner
Phillip Suttner, 87, of 17101 Hwy. 1, Ridgway, died 1:55 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ridgway with Father Mark Stec officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery in Ridgway. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
He was born Nov. 24, 1914, in Ridgway to Frank J. and Theresa (Fromm) Suttner. On Nov. 26, 1940, he married the former Lillian Luckett in St. Louis, Mo., and she survives.
He was a farmer and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ridgway.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Roger Suttner of Ridgway, Jim (Helen) Suttner of Ridgway, Tom (Mary Linda) Suttner of Norris City, and Don (Shanna) Suttner of Chesterfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Angie Raymer, Matt Suttner, Cyndi Punke, Bob Suttner, Andrea Martin, Angela Shain and Randy Shaw; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorene Harris; and three brothers, Joseph C., Frank Edward and Alphonse E. Suttner.
Donations may be made to St. Joseph cemetery Fund or VNA Hospice of 1300 U.S. 45 North, Eldorado, Ill. 62930.

Wanda Lee Essary
Wanda Lee Essary, 64, of Thompsonville (Corinth area) died 3:20 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Ken Petty officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Hill cemetery in Broughton. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born June 26, 1937, in Galatia to the late Auda and Edith (Maynard) Howe. On July 24, 1953, she married Ernie Essary in Saline County, and he survives.
She attended Grace Awakening Church in Benton.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Steven Ray Essary of West Frankfort and Denny Lee Essary of Thompsonville; a daughter, Brenda Joyce Bolte of San Antonio, Texas; four brothers, Charles Walker of Lampe, Mo., Dale Walker of Clarmore, Okla., Loren Williams of Santa Fe, Texas, and Leland Williams of Hull; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Clerence Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Eugene Wise
Eugene Wise, 83, of rural Route 1, Simpson, died 12:45 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2002, at Pope County Care Home in Golconda.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville with John Bailey officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 30, 1919, in Pope County to the late Roy and Lela (Bynum) Wise. He married the former Maxine Anderson, who survives.
He was a member of Pentecostal Church in Ozark.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Russell Wise of Anna; and a brother, Lindell Wise of Harrisburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Brush.

Clyde Woodrow Minar
Clyde Woodrow Minar, 84, of 711 Third St., Omaha, died 5:40 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
Services were held 1 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2002, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha with the Rev. Joe Patton and Ann Whipple officiating. Burial was at Palestine No. 2 cemetery in Omaha with military rites by Ridgway American Legion Post No. 596. Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 23, 1917, in Junction to the late Clyde and Pearl (Fields) Minar. On Sept. 17, 1938, he married the former Jessie Lee Johnson, who survives.
He was retired from Babcox & Wilcox as an electrician. He was a veteran of the Army in World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ann (Gary) Whipple of Omaha; seven grandchildren, Gary Minar of Eldorado, Rhett Whipple of Omaha, Brett Whipple of New Haven, Woodina Upton of Evansville, Ind., Christina Williams of Norris City, Elizabeth Roberts of Norris City, and Jeff Minar of Florence, Ala.; a niece, Joan Pumphrey and nephew, Jack Staten; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clyde Wayne Minar; a sister, Lillian Pearl Staten; and two brothers, LeRoy and Walter Minar.
Donations may be made to Palestine II cemetery of Omaha.

Ronald D. 'Bud' Wilson Jr.
Ronald D. "Bud" Wilson Jr., 67, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Carrier Mills, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Jacksonville.
He was the son of R. Dale Wilson Sr., former superintendent of schools, and Bertha Wilson.
He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Follis of Jonesboro and Eleanor Keller of Anna.

Arnold Woodrow Hossler
Arnold Woodrow Hossler, 60, a resident of Rosiclare Health Care Center, died 9:40 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002, at his residence.
The body has been cremated. Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by four sons, one daughter, two sisters, one brother, and an aunt.

Edith Vechione
Edith Vechione, 99, died Monday, May 13, 2002, in El Paso, Texas.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2002, at Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado with Fr. Don Abell officiating. There will be no visitation. Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born Dec. 2, 1902, in England, to W.T. "Billy" and Annie (Means) Johnstone. She married Roy J. Miller, who preceded her in death. She then married Joseph Vechione, who also preceded her in death.
She worked at the Eldorado Water Department for 25 years.
She is survived by four nieces, Rita Jean (Johnstone) Grace, Ruth Ann (Johnstone) Gibson, Edith Ann (Hamilton) Mueth, and Bernadine (Hamilton) Darling; and a brother, Dr. John Hick (Ruth) Johnstone of El Paso, Texas.
In addition to both her husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Hamilton of Equality.

Utha M. Gaddis
Utha M. Gaddis, 92, a resident of Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado, died 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002, at Watson Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Baker officiating.
Burial will be in Green Hill cemetery in Sullivan. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 18, 1909, in Harrisburg to Charles and May (Upchurch) Bishop. She married Ollie Raymond Gaddis, who preceded her in death in 1941.
She was a member of Raleigh Methodist Church. She was a past member of Harrisburg Historical Society, a charter member of Raleigh Methodist Church, and a Sunday school teacher at church.
She is survived by a son, Raymond Gaddis of Sevierville, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. O.B. (Rae) Camp of Eldorado; three sisters, Phyllis Reasons and Mabel Leonard, both of Eldorado, and Jean Spaughn of Sullivan; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Saver; four brothers; and two sisters.

Nancy Loretta George
Nancy Loretta George, 87, died 4:50 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2002, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Gordon Smith and the Rev. Tim Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson cemetery near Ozark. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 8, 1914, in Stonefort to the late Zeke and Maggie (Gay) Pritchett. She married Elbert "Birdie" George on March 5, 1939, and lived most of her married life in New Burnside. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1979. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church near Stonefort.
She is survived by two children, Alma (Chuck) Lanfear of Morris and Kenneth (Patti) George of Marion; eight grandchildren, Ramona (Bundren) Schwartz and husband Kyle of Harrisburg, Neil (Shayne) Bundren of Vienna, Lindsay George of Minooka, Justin and Mallory Tate, Suzi (Lanfear) Barker, Charley Lanfear and Jodi (Lanfear) Duhon; 11 great-grandchildren, Kyle Jr., Justin, Nicholas, Jessica and Dylan Schwartz, Henry Bundren, Samantha and Bailey Barker, Katelyn Lanfear, and Tyler and Ashley Duhon; a sister, Grace Deaton of Carrier Mills; a brother, Paul Pritchett of Stonefort; a sister-in-law, Faye Pritchett of Carrier Mills; and also nieces and nephews who have given much love and support before and during her long illness.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Lee George; five brothers, Bennie, Charley "Penny", Elmer "Buck", George, Ralph "Jack"; and a sister, Blanche.
