Mary Lou Nave
Mary Lou Nave, 74, of Longview, Texas, formerly of Eldorado, died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel, 1617 Judson Road, Longview, Texas, with Dr. Gary Orr, the Rev. Morris Johnson and her son-in-law, Steven Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Park cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born April 22, 1928, in Eldorado, the daughter of Lewis E. and Edith Barton of Eldorado, both deceased.
She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Longview and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Eldorado. She was a nine-year employee of Good Shepherd Medical Center and worked in the family business for five years. Mrs. Nave was a longtime homemaker and a perfect wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harold Nave of Longview, Texas; four children, Dr. Dennis (Laura) Nave of Shreveport, Dale (Barbara) Nave of Wimberly, Texas, Lou Vonne (Steven) Johnson of Caldwell, Texas and Evan Nave of Austin, Texas; a sister, Vivian B. Kotner of Springfield; four grandchildren, Nicholas Nave, Natalie Nave, Audrey Johnson and Isaac Johnson and primary caregiver and loving friend, Sheri Maurer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Rosenbaum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a memorial contribution be made to the First Baptist Church of Eldorado music department.

Charles W. Reed
Charles W. Reed, 74, of Harrisburg, passed away 9:57 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002. He was a developer and builder for 35 years, and a loving father. He was active in the community and church community. He enjoyed traveling and had the love for nature and the outdoors. He was a loving and caring man.
He is survived by three sons, Mr. and Mrs. Mike (Mary) Reed of Harrisburg, Mr. and Mrs. Dave (Pat) Reed of Eldorado, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Kris) Reed of Wabash, Ind.; a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gloria Jean (Mel) Luton of Lynn Haven, Fla.; two brothers, Ronald Arlie Reed of Eldorado and James Daniel Reed of Evansville, Ind.; two sisters, Nora Rae Gidcumb and Marie Claspell, both of Evansville, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was born March 3, 1928, in Burnwell, W. Va., to Jacob Earl and Helen (Boyd) Reed.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Earl Reed.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Burial will be in Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2002, at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Eldorado.

John Wiley 'Butch' Russell
John Wiley "Butch" Russell, 51, of McLeansboro, died 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried and the Rev. Ron Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Smith cemetery near Dale. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2002, at the funeral home.

Edward Benjamin Scott Jr.
Edward Benjamin Scott Jr., 50, of 105 Southwest Drive, Harrisburg, died 4:20 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2002, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Jack Hall officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2002, at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1951, in Harrisburg to Rosa L. (Mays) and the late Edward Benjamin Scott Sr. On April 6, 1979, he married the former Jacqueline Lee Tatum, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and a was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawneetown. He was a male involvement liaison for W.A.D.I.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Marques Scott of Harrisburg and Benjamin (Renata) Scott of Culp; a daughter, Jasmine Scott of Harrisburg; a stepdaughter, Tamara Turner of Belleville; nine sisters, Vivecca Scott, Barbara (Gary) James, Karen Scott, Kim Scott, Tonya (Charles) Bradford, Sadie Scott, Rena Scott, Monique Scott and Suzanne Scott; six nephews, Josh and Adam Scott, Gabriel and Caleb Portee; Seth Scott; and Matthew Ware; and five grandchildren, Elijah Scott, Kaylan Perry, Darion Turner, Xavian and Jakob Moreno.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Bryce Edward Scott and a brother, Gene Mays.

Edith Allen
Edith Allen, 104, of McLeansboro, died 12:45 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2002, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Rachel Stockle officiating. Burial will be in Enfield cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born August 28, 1897, in Hamilton County, to the late Anderson and Hattie (Harlow) Walters. On April 21, 1926, she married Chalmus E. "Chal" Allen, who preceded her in death.
She was a housewife and a member of the First United Methodist Church of McLeansboro.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Neva Biggerstaff of Eldorado; six nieces; one nephew; seven stepgrandchildren; 18 great-stepgrandchildren and several great-great-stepgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and a stepson.

Doris Jean Antoline
Doris Jean Antoline, 71, of 30 W. Raymond St., Harrisburg, died 7:50 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Champaign.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2002, at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Murphysboro. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born August 27, 1930, in Carbondale to Orville F. and Mary Iva (Mofield) Carrington. In 1950, she married Luther Antoline Jr., who survives.
She was a member of Harrisburg First Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Michael L. Antoline of Champaign and Capt. Tony Antoline of Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala.; a daughter, Marina Antoline of Urbana; a sister, Lorraine Coets of Cape Coral, Fla.; five grandchildren, Ben Antoline, Grant Antoline, Julian Buckingham, Korryn Antoline, and Braden Antoline; and two stepgrandchildren, Orion and Maxwell Buckingham.

Charlotte S. Nolen
Charlotte S. Nolen, 91, of 516 E. Church St., Harrisburg, died 9:40 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2002, at Saline Care Center.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2002, at Reed Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Judith Beyler officiating and the Rev. Ernest Ammon assisting. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born August 30, 1910, in Alliance, Ohio to George W. and Charlotte M. "Lottie" (Wilson) Smith. On March 18, she married Kenneth C. "K.C." Nolen, who preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1945.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a florist and owned and operated the Posy Shop in Harrisburg for many years. She was a member of Business and Professional Women and the Harrisburg Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by three daughters, Joy (Bill) Pyle, Judy Vinyard, Lynda (George) Henley; two sons, Jack (Polly) Nolen and Kenneth (Sylvia) Nolen, all of Harrisburg.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert Smith; and two grandchildren.

Anton 'Tony' Anselment
Anton "Tony" Anselment, 66, of McLeansboro, died 9:39 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2002, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis with Msgr. Joseph Lawler officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic cemetery in Piopolis. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2002, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Janet Pinnell Rydin
Janet Pinnell Rydin, 60, of West Dundee, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. She was born June 1, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., to Harold and Ruth Pinnell. She moved to Eldorado as a child and attended Beulah Heights Grade School and Eldorado High School. She moved to the Elgin area in 1957. She owned and operated Rydin Real Estate in Elgin. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Elgin.
Surviving are her husband, John, whom she married on Sept. 22, 1970; four children, Pamela (Lee) Garcia of Gilberts; Carrie Marin of St. Charles, Mo.; Michael Wilkinson of Dundee and Joshua (Tina) Rydin of Elgin; a stepdaughter, Carla Sutton of Aurora; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan (Dick) Lane of De Kalb and Judy Price of Eldorado; two brothers, Otto Pinnell of Florida and Greg (Jamie) Fry of Crystal Lake and her stepfather, George (Effie) Fry of Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ronnie, Dewayne and Stanley; a daughter, Rhonda Harrell; a granddaughter, Tisha Garcia and great-grandson, Mikey McMahon.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin and she was buried in River Valley Memorial Gardens in Dundee.

James Lee 'Jake' Whitlock
James Lee "Jake" Whitlock, of 8300 Maysville Road Apt. 2009, Ft. Wayne, Ind., formerly of Raleigh, died 11:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at Golden Years Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at the Masonic cemetery in Raleigh with the Rev. Doug Holley officiating. Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at the Golden Years Chapel in Ft. Wayne, Ind. There will be a memorial service 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at Golden Years Chapel. Local arrangements are in the charge of Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado.
He was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Raleigh to Lee and Lola (Baines) Whitlock. He married the former Mildred Cable, who survives.
He grew up in Harrisburg and lived in Marion, Ind., until 1974 when he retired and moved to Ft. Wayne. He was a plant superintendent at Fisher Body in Marion and a teacher for six years before working at General Motors for 34 years. He was a Staff Sgt., 37th Army Division, 4th Infantry. He was a member of the Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church and the Taylor Chapel Choir.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James Michael of Ft. Wayne and Gordon Robert of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Jan Tindall of Ft. Wayne; a sister, Grace Wilkinson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to Heartland Hospice or Golden Years Nursing Home.
